okay i’m excited for possible BOZ lanaboards entrance but i’m scared everyone is gonna bombard him with questions when/if he comes on here and he’s gonna leave right away 😭😭 let’s just promise ahead of time to make sure we give him some space

bless him  BoZ if you’re reading this we love you

i really wonder what the hell lana thinks when versions of songs that never even existed “leak”
  4. poetic jess liked a post in a topic by Deleted Member in LDR Album Process Discussion
this is one i don’t understand because the Lucky Ones demo was still cohesive with the rest of the album, actually even more cohesive, i don’t know why any of them thought it was necessary to change it so much. the released version feels more a part of Paradise than BTD honestly

(yet the drums leaking through her mic in the first verse of the album version of Thunder didn’t bother her )

i am now imagining Kieron and Dean sitting at that damn computer thinking they have the mix and Lana sends the 20th note back of the day asking for the kick to be turned down 0.1db lmfaoooo

each “track” in a session is like an instrument, vocal layer etc. so it’s not 129 versions of the song, it’s 129 layers in the production if that makes sense. basically 129 stems

he has an active account apparently 😭 he just explained himself on twitter and said that the 129 outtakes thing was a misunderstanding and it was actually 129 mixes of the title track, and that Fine China/YTH Auerbach versions were pure speculation on his part. the 129 thing is fair, but regarding Fine China/YTH i just don’t understand why he talked about them like truth  y’all have seen the way i’ve campaigned for those songs lmfaoooo

okay now that we know Fine China Auerbach Version doesn’t exist, can someone please post Fine China in at least 320kbps  it’s been SEVEN years. we already have the song what’s the difference. i just want to add it to my UV album without it sounding clearly off 😭😭

i kind of can rest easier now though knowing that the other 3 songs out of the 13 Dan did do are just demos likely to the same par as the MPG demo which i just mentioned not liking very much. was bittersweet to say the least  RIP Fine China “final”, YTH “final”, and ITTJ “final”

when i’m pushing 70 in the nursing home and see “Interscope Records announces 50th anniversary edition of Lana Del Rey’s cult classic 2014 album Ultraviolence” and just flatline then and there

i thought she was 100% going to drop 10 year anniversary editions of all her albums with the best of the leaked/unreleased material, especially considering the unreleased album she was planning never happened, but after we got nothing even for BTD 10 i’m scared it’s never gonna happen or is only gonna happen for the like 50 year anniversary editions like Joni Mitchell just did lmfaoooo

Fine China DA Version will always be my #1 most anticipated leak but Pink Champagne might just have to be put in spot 2

although the fact that the song was originally called Pink Champagne makes a lot of sense for UV era considering it’s slang for molly lmfao, i wonder if the bridge was originally the chorus or something

it’s so crazy to me how LMLYLAW is so old, the lyrics scream 2019-2021 lana. which is probably why she brought it back lol, but that’s still just so surprising. i can’t imagine her writing “I come from a small town, how 'bout you? / I only mention it 'cause I'm ready to leave LA and I want you to come / Eighty miles north or south will do / I don't care where as long as you're with me” before she wrote like Shades of Cool and Sad Girl lol, unless the lyrics have changed a lot over the years as well

we don’t have the Dan Auerbach version of ITTJ unfortunately

okay, so this is a comprehensive list of every song from the UV era that we know of (not including Dark City and Ave Maria because we don’t rlly know anything about them, also not including Queen of Hearts and Don’t Stop because I have a feeling they were for something else) and when they were recorded as specifically as we know. if i’m missing info or possibly forgot to add a few songs to this list, which is definitely likely, lmk and i will update

Cruel World — demo possibly recorded at Electric Lady December 2013-January 2014, final version recorded January-February 2014 Ultraviolence — demo/most vox possibly recorded November 2013, final version re-worked by Dan Auerbach January-February 2014 with a few new vocal takes Shades of Cool — scratch demo and Rick Nowels version recorded November 2013, final version recorded January-February 2014 Brooklyn Baby — there’s a scratch demo out there (which we have a snippet of), possibly from late 2013, final version recorded January-February 2014 West Coast — demo/radio mix possibly recorded April 2013, final version recorded January-February 2014 Sad Girl — demo/vox possibly recorded November 2013, instrumental reworked by Dan Auerbach January-February 2014 Pretty When You Cry — recorded December 2013-January 2014 Money Power Glory — recorded October-December 2012, alternate version recorded with Auerbach January-February 2014 Fucked My Way Up to the Top — demo possibly recorded mid-late 2013, final version recorded with Auerbach January-February 2014 Old Money — recorded October-December 2012 The Other Woman — recorded January-February 2014 Black Beauty — demo recorded January 2013, Paul Epworth rework possibly from February 2014 Guns and Roses — recorded December 2013-January 2014 Florida Kilos — recorded January-February 2014 Is This Happiness? — recorded November 2013 Flipside — possibly recorded June 2013 Living Legend — recorded 2013, likely July 2013 Cherry Blossom — recorded early May 2013 Nectar of the Gods — recorded early May 2013 Fine China — demo recorded November 2013, re-recorded with Auerbach in January-February 2014 Yes to Heaven — demo recorded November 2013, re-recorded with Auerbach in January-February 2014 Let Me Love You Like a Woman (Demo) — ? If You Lie Down with Me (Demo) — ? Angels Forever, Forever Angels — recorded early 2013 I Talk to Jesus — demos recorded October-December 2012, re-recorded with Auerbach January-February 2014 Your Girl — recorded November 2013 Unidentified Flying Bill — possibly recorded June 2013 I Don’t Wanna Go (Lake Placid) — demo recorded Early-Mid 2012, re-recorded in 2013 Hollywood — recorded September-December 2012, alt version from 2013 Wild One (Mike) — recorded September-December 2012 Cult Leader — recorded early-mid 2013 Dragonslayer — recorded early-mid 2013 I Can Fly — demo recorded November 2013
*One understandable misconception that I saw about the final version of West Coast is that it was recorded at The Bridge because that is listed in the album’s linear notes, but only select instruments on the song were recorded at The Bridge. The final version vox were recorded at Easy Eye.

i love describing hayden’s music as cinematic because, like a movie, it’s not meant to always be particularly enjoyable or easy all the time—it’s supposed to make you feel something. you don’t say a horror film is bad because it scared you. i think anyone who completely throws the stuff that makes them uncomfortable aside is doing a great injustice to her artistry, while also proving that what she’s doing is effective

“Taco Truck x VB” is kind of Lana’s worst song title like idec that we have no context, surely the song has a much more beautiful lyric that should’ve been the title instead. i just really hate the imagery that “Taco Truck” gives me 😭😭

i just think it’s interesting and says a lot how nobody here can have an adult conversation about it and instead immediately gets defensive and starts spewing out insults at others who are concerned about this! you’re lucky this is the only time i’ve ever mentioned it in this thread because trust me i want to every time i see it on the forums index, and it’s a necessary conversation to have because this is a big thing. also “what we chose to do together” is melanie’s own assumption, idk about anyone else but every time i’ve ever been intimate with people we have both verbally said “yes”. if you think it’s necessary for rape allegations to be settled in court, then i would recommend doing some light reading and looking at the statistics for how many cases are dismissed, how difficult it is to provide evidence apart from they-said they-said, how expensive it is, and also just empathizing that maybe people don’t want to relive a trauma like that
