  1. imagine how tired we are… well i’m glad this song is finally getting released i guess it was so close to becoming ldr’s version of taxi
  2. the world was too cruel to you 💔
  3. the piano in the jon batiste songs are amazing and so rich like there’s such a marked difference in quality with the other songs on the album. this is not bashing the other songs btw because i do like all the other songs but if she’s going to continue making piano heavy songs, she should work with actual pianists. wildflower wildfire for instance, would’ve been godly with batiste’s piano playing
  4. one of my favourite albums ever idc what anyone says this is high art to me
  5. fingertips has REALLY grown on me might be top 3 now. mental illness, worrying about future children, uncle dave, mommy issues, grappling with mortality, and she still got in under 6 minutes. it’s not a short song by any means but the speed and efficiency with which she was able to mass trauma dump on this track is so impressive
  6. sweet is such a beautiful song that just grows on you the more you listen to it. i agree with the people who said this sounds like something from a musical or a broadway show. it’s like something sondheim would write and if i close my eyes i can just imagine bernadette peters singing it. also the part where she sings “i’ve got things to do like nothing at all” kinda reminds me of stay by rihanna a bit
  7. kintsugi is beautiful literally a career highlight i can’t believe there’s people who don’t like it. it’s melody is so delicate it’s almost reminiscent of vashti bunyan’s works
  8. and what if i said jon batiste interlude is one of my favourite things lana has ever done and is top 20 in lana’s discography? what then? do you ostracise me? ‘cancel’ ‘me? or embrace me with open arms?
  9. the judah smith interlude is so interesting because it fits in so insanely well with the album. did she write A&W after listening to this sermon? does she just randomly record sermons in church?
  10. also it’s lowkey making me so emotional thinking about how lana deleted malibu because it was too personal but now she’s out here writing her most personal songs like wildflower wildfire and fingertips like the growth is immense
  11. the instrumental behind the judah smith interlude is amazing like it’s kinda wasted it should’ve been used for an actual song
  12. well… glad this pre-release is over. it wasn’t as bad as the last 3 but the rosemead thing was really messy and annoying. anyway lfl pre-release remains the best it was so fun like you just had to be there
  13. at the listening party… they don’t know i’m lannisterpussy from lanaboards
  14. The Gig’s reviewer, Lucy Harbron is such a stan lmao you can see it in the way she writes. We like you Lucy we like you!!
  15. me! normally i would listen to the leaks like i did with the hm uo leak, nfr cassete leak and with the bb leak but next week is my birthday so i’m saving my first listen next week as a present which is actually why i also didn’t listen to the chemtrails leak as its release date also coincided during my birthday week and it was a very magical week for me so i’m super excited for next week. reading all the spoilers here is so hard but it’s got me very excited especially for grandfather and candy necklace

  17. currently debating if i should go to the vancouver party hghh. i don’t have anyone to go with and idk if listening to it with other people will ruin my first listen but it also seems kinda fun idk
  18. gonna ramble a bit here on the grants so just ignore and scroll pass if you don’t want to read long scattered thoughts. there is so much depth to this song oh my god it’s unbelievable. there aren’t a lot of lyrics here but the lyrics that are present convey so much meaning and so succinctly and perfectly that honestly i think any more lyrics would just muddy it. i know a lot of people don’t like it when she sings about her family and to a certain extent i get it! but i personally love it like i maybe i’m just uncultured but i don’t know any singer who touches on topics like overcoming familial and generational trauma like lana does (i guess bjork does it a little in songs like quicksand and ancestress but not as in depth as lana does). it’s so beautiful and inspiring and i really relate to it as someone overcoming my own “karmic lineage” and just trying to be a better person. trauma in a person looks like personality; trauma decontextualized in a family looks like family traits. like there’s literal proof that trauma passes down your bloodline and i’m trying really hard to heal so i don’t pass it down to my family and maybe i’m just being silly but it’s so cool to see someone like lana talk about it openly like it’s just such a brave thing to do idk. ok ramble over sorry for cluttering this thread oops
  19. it’s insane how much her vocals have improved. not to say that she wasn’t a great singer before because she was but she’s genuinely become one of the best singers in the industry like not many can keep up and hold their own with whitney houston’s and michael jackson’s background singers
