Which has always been so wild to me because Trump hasn’t shut up about vaccines, and taking them, since Covid started. I think we all can agree that these people suck and no one supports them limiting speech either.

My husband and I are both bi. We have many friends in the lgbtq community and many democratic friends and not a single person supports limiting free speech either. IMO I feel like it’s only the people who spend majority of their time online who want to limit speech. So you just wanted limited speech from people who disagree with you.

Protecting free speech has nothing to do with the constitution. They want it in other countries too. cruel people are going to be cruel whether they’re on the internet or not. i agree that there isn’t anything fun about being cruel and mean. I was bullied all through my childhood. It sucks. It’s evil. I think people with hateful opinions are shit people. do I think I have a right to control what they put on the internet? No. Most people on the internet arent psychos like Alex Jones who start weird mobs of dick heads who have zero common sense.

taking away the right to free speech is the first step of the government having full control over every aspect of your life. no one should have the right to control what you say. if someone wants to be a bully they’re a shitty ass person. And guess what? In a world where there’s no free speech, you can’t call someone a shitty ass person when they’re being one because it would be considered hate speech. Someone saying a slur or a bad word is shitty, but it’s not criminal.it is not calling for your death. Controlling speech will not give someone empathy.

You realize that the people you want to defend commit the same behavior tho right? and for the record, I’m not defending anyone. I’m defending the right to say whatever I want as long as I’m not insinuating violence. Hurting feelings isn’t insinuating violence. Neither is calling people names, etc.

Hurting someone’s feelings isn’t hate speech. No one is required to manage YOUR emotions. if someone is rude to you, bullying you, that’s shitty, but people can say what they want. I think this argument is so wild because if someone is cruel to someone without a leftist worldview, then it’s fine; but being hateful to a leftist isn’t allowed. You can’t stop people from hurting your feelings.
