Thank you for making me feel better about this Trump situation. I didn’t know all this about Bush. as far as Trump becoming a dictator, I don’t believe that will happen. I do think he values his ego more than anything else but I also believe there is ALOT of fear mongering surrounding him. The criminalization of abortion for example, during the debates he looked at the mediator like he was an idiot because he said “I agree with abortion but I just wanted to give it back to the states.” His decisions aren’t the best. His followers are terrifying. BUT his followers disagree with half the shit he agrees with (abortion and vaccines for example) which then makes the public believe he is like his crazy followers. im scared for the future but I think a lot of my fears and anxiety have to do with the media’s portrayal of what’s happening.

I think we all can agree that these people suck and no one supports them limiting speech either.

My husband and I are both bi. We have many friends in the lgbtq community and many democratic friends and not a single person supports limiting free speech either. IMO I feel like it’s only the people who spend majority of their time online who want to limit speech. So you just wanted limited speech from people who disagree with you.

Protecting free speech has nothing to do with the constitution. They want it in other countries too. cruel people are going to be cruel whether they’re on the internet or not. i agree that there isn’t anything fun about being cruel and mean. I was bullied all through my childhood. It sucks. It’s evil. I think people with hateful opinions are shit people. do I think I have a right to control what they put on the internet? taking away the right to free speech is the first step of the government having full control over every aspect of your life. no one should have the right to control what you say. if someone wants to be a bully they’re a shitty ass person. And guess what? In a world where there’s no free speech, you can’t call someone a shitty ass person when they’re being one because it would be considered hate speech. Someone saying a slur or a bad word is shitty, but it’s not criminal.it is not calling for your death. Controlling speech will not give someone empathy.
