I still scream when I read the interview that good girls subverts gender expectations-to this day I still don’t understand what the reviewer meant.

Atleast BTR isn’t generic though, it genuinely has a unique sound. eh guess it’s all subjective.

I must say I find charlis hatred for BTR insane? Like it’s production is masterful-the Smells like teen spirit grunge pop guitars, the Edm rise and drop. complete experimental genius from cashmere. the lyrics also aren’t that bad-they’re dumb in a good I want candy way. if anything after the after party and blame it on your love deserve hate.

Regarding any demos she never actually means actual demos? I don’t think she actually understands demos because she previewed the demo of new shapes on her stories and it sounded exactly the same. she’s mentioned leaking music before as-well and she usually just means doing a live performance etc. Sucker I do like but even I recognise it has problems with mixing and production-I think she really wanted that rockish live sound but Atlantic wanted pop producers after fancy and boom clap released for in our stars. what we got after was a mish mash of bubblegum pop and the rockish sound.some of the instruments sound so overproduced that there’s no life left like in the title track. If only Patrick produced the whole thing sigh.

Paying tribute to Sucker today power pop/pop punk/ New wave perfection Well I think these two songs captured the vibe she was aiming for before it was ruined by Boom Claps success.

I don’t see what this has to do with a belief only some share in natal charts? No offence lmao. but anyway I’m at a loss why it is cancelled when it’s been ongoing for 2+ years. Variants will always mutate and you have to decide on the loss to an economy to the infection rate etc. I suspect they’re trying to stop a polio situation.

    Lorde

I really disagree, but this is a Lana forum so the emphasis will be on her artistry. I mean you can’t even call it a GP record-if you ask most people outside of her fan base honestly-I doubt many know it even exists. lana has a dedicated base which is why her albums always top the UK charts. The only GP recognisable album is Born to Die or paradise edition. emotive vocals are subjective but she does use falsetto mostly through the entire record just like Lorde on solar power. NFR also has its share of preachy lyrics like “Kanye west is blind and gone” despite all the stuff she has said over the years lmao. The guitars on both records are highly looped aswell.

    Lorde

Have you actually listen to NFR? BAR, Venice Bitch, MAC, The Greatest all have prominent guitars as lead in the instrumental. if the albums weren’t similar-nobody would be comparing the two as they were when solar power released. But besides the point-most of NFR is ruined by Lanas vocal take on the songs-The Greatest for example is a brilliant song ruined by her mumbled vocals. you can’t have a soft instrumental and soft vocals-it doesn’t work. If she did a slight chest register note at the climax it would of really scored it to another level.

    Lorde

I’m not going to recant my opinion on this, objectively they share the same sound. the only difference is Lorde is preachy and Lana like the life has been sucked out of her vocal.
  16. evalionisameme

    Lorde

Both are bland and have no punch.
  17. evalionisameme

    Lorde

How was it any different from NFR though, people slated solar power but loved NFR which has exactly the same issues lyricism wise, production and mixing wise.

It’s crazy to think Charlis had a career since 2009 on the more indie circuit-http://breakingmorewaves.blogspot.com/2010/05/charli-xcx.html?m=1 that keyboardist can suck it. http://breakingmorewaves.blogspot.com/2009/11/charli-xcx-do-it-well.html?m=1

It’s the same take with auto tune. Prefer the raw one

    Charli XCX

The blatant ageism here is bizarre, 30 is very young. people begin careers at 30-you are all acting like she’s 70 years old, even still Blondies still at it. As far as her expressions, she’s British we don’t fake emotion or expression-she’s not rude she just DAF

The actual snippet of sweat sounds okay. A bit messy lyrically but it’s a party song so anywho, the only problem I can see is it’s giving more 90s Gwen Stefanie collab than 80s new Jack swing.

Eh yes and no it’s subjective, I like the Vroom Vroom EP, N1 Angel is a pop feast, I’m really mixed with pop 2, Charli I hated, how I’m feeling has some songs I love. I’d still argue her best writing, production and vocals were on TR. I’m not sure she will ever top it because there was a lot of pressure.
