Expose-Pop Industry songwriter revolt

I also found it interesting that a lot of these writers seem to not be paid much at all by the labels until the song gains traction even though they’ve been commissioned -
Expose-Pop Industry songwriter revolt

Artists need to take my accountability for their work aswell-the process of limiting a songwriters involvement in their own creation is just cruel when if you’re at A tier-you can afford to provide equal credit. -
jeez people were so vile sometimes in early boards 💀

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/pop-songwriters-industry-broke-1234662448/ noteworthy segments: Keller says. “For instance, if a big songwriter makes a Justin Bieber song, [and] Justin Bieber wants 20 percent of the song … how often do big artists’ hits like that come along?” Krysiuk, for instance, says Zayn Malik took a songwriting credit and royalties for 2021’s “Unfuckwitable,” which she co-wrote — despite his not being in the room when it was written. (A rep for Malik had no comment.) Scott Harris, a Pact signee who’s co-written hits for Shawn Mendes and the Chainsmokers, recalls being all but blackmailed early in his career: “I had written a song in the room with an artist, and it was a four-way split. The artist wanted to take more or they weren’t going to put the song out, and I let them do it.” At the time, she didn’t mind that Grande took 10 percent of the songwriting credit for what Krysiuk describes as “changing three or four words,” tweaking the lyric that ended up as “watch you smoke and drink.” (Producer Tommy “TBHits” Brown, who worked on “Better Off,” disputes Krysiuk’s account: “That was definitely not [Grande’s] only contribution,” he says. “We sat down there with the entire song and worked on it together. [Grande] is very, very hands-on with everything she does. She’s not one of the artists that just take songs and doesn’t do anything.”) Caroline Ailin, who co-wrote Dua Lipa’s breakthrough hit, “New Rules,” had quit the industry by the time it came out in 2017 and was working as a waitress, according to her friend and co-writer Emily Warren — it took that song’s massive success to bring her back. Warren says another songwriter friend of hers has “Grammy Awards, hundreds of millions of streams, and he drives Uber to pay rent. Like, that doesn’t make any sense. It’s the only job I can think of where you do a job and don’t get paid.” Thoughts?

I mean yeah but usually there’s a competitive completed slide of songs….💀 Tables doesn’t sound like it got past the first demo
-
I don’t know what to say- but fans attacking other artists for capitols or skys lack of work is just dumb- wtf is Halsey meant to do? They don’t even particularly like each other
-
Such a pretty voice MOTD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hotel and both are nothing compared to one more touch
-
Omg warnings are deserved for Jk
-
Im living for some of the true romanceish vocals covered by the tune in murder though
-
Leak the punk album, the killing moon, the yin Yang twins track from crash
-
Yeah these leaks are scraps Stream baby The over auto tune is cute on songs like lucky for effect- these songs did not deserve a release
-
1000 times says we have it 🤷♀️ then again if they are a certain popstar-they're bound to troll
-
Perhaps she’s re-recorded the album to an extent? she’s been in the studio lately as confirmed by her and has been singing a lot of old songs.
-
She was in the studio with Ava max before and that lead nowhere(not that i was disappointed) hopefully this is for some collab stuff I’ll take anything Justin Or Patrik

I thought this was Jack for a second

But on serious discussion those era feature songs were absolutely Awful-why did the label promote them more than actual bops like Good ones, Baby and yes Beg for you is miles above those songs too.
-
Just learned hot in it went to no1 in Latvia interesting music taste..
-
Why tf would anyone want a Britney jean rerelease? They couldn’t even pick one of the good albums.
-
I mean it wasn’t even a massive era anyway- the single rollout was awful, the promo was great- lots of pap pics-appearances etc but there wasn’t one song which became a massive hit. The crash album hitting n1 was interesting but either the label or charli didn’t put all their effort into it because any one of these songs should have been bigger than hot in it or out out which were bigger than the album itself 💀 I do feel she has the fanbase as a singer to reach a decent proportion of people now without having play to these games fortunately
-
Yeah-watch her get dropped with no rights to the album-capitol would love this
-
She wasn’t even entirely clear on if she even liked the music specifically-just that it reached her goal of commercially well-so it’s moreso her or the editors case in this sit than fans.
-
I mean saying “ making that kinda music in that kinda environment” has implications and moreso negative than anything else. It’s obvious why fans think she is acting indifferent to me.
-
She’s referenced rape on three occasions- a short film showing her in the situation, her question speech and now this song-what is interesting is that you’d think A&W would take place after her speech- it definitely fits the angrier, more “what she wants to sing about” rhetoric she mentioned. Perhaps she wasn’t ready

evalionisameme replied to evalionisameme's topic in World News
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11759635/amp/Sam-Smith-belongs-hell-Moment-star-heckled-NYC.html we got the hit headline before the DM- Lana as the exclusive news site confirmed. I still wonder how the small crowd managed to find him -
Also why is this subconsciously dragging Raye I love Charles and I know she didn’t mean it but it’s so bad timing- she became so PC that now she’s back to her days of dragging Gaga, Rihanna and Cheryl Cole in 2011. A legend me thinks.
