Really, really excited about the Madame X concept! You can tell that she took her time with this record. I can't wait to find out how it sounds, it's certainly one of the most anticipated albums of the year for me. The Queen is coming!

Am I the only one who still doesn't quite get why she seems to insist on releasing the book before/alongside the album? What's stopping her from releasing NFR, and then a few months later the poetry book? If anything, I think she could make more money by giving the fans a little time to "breathe" (as in, save money) between buying 230482 different versions of the album (CD, vinyl, cassette, boxset etc.) and purchasing the book, especially if she makes some more expensive versions (hardcover? signed?) and perhaps even an audiobook available too. Especially an audiobook, read by Lana herself, would be amazing! Lily Allen, for example, did that with her book and it made it so much more personal to actually hear her tell her story.

I kinda doubt it would be a big issue. Like, not even the mess surrounding the headdress she was wearing in the Ride video had any impact on the success of Born To Die/Paradise, and I would argue that insensitivity regarding culture/cultural appropriation is considered more problematic by most people than a metaphor referencing violence (and as others have mentioned, she pretty much fetishised it with Ultraviolence anyway). The funny thing is that both Lana's video for Ride and No Doubt's video for Looking Hot premiered within three weeks back in 2012 and both were criticised for the same reason, but while No Doubt apologised and immediately took it down, Lana never even acknowledged the criticism, as far as I am aware.

Slightly off-topic, but it's a post-Eurovision release, so whatever... Polina Gagarina (who finished second in Vienna back in 2015 with her song A Million Voices) released a new song called Melancholia and it's a bop!

Trump becoming the president of the US wasn't the only shitty thing that was (is) going on in the world, though, and she didn't explicitly mention him in the trailer, did she? She might very well have been referencing Brexit and all the populist/right-wing politicians being elected in many other countries, too – well, at least in theory. On the other hand, we do know how deep her understanding of politics is, so I might be a bit too naïve...
