  1. It has the same vibe as Playing Dangerous. At least to me it does.
  2. Music To Watch Boys To reminds me of the 60's song Music to Watch Girls By. If Lana goes with this James Bond/Groovy horn sound I will be in heaven!
  3. I must admit that Ultraviolence was harder for me to grasp. I like some of the songs, but I found some of the compositions jarring. She does great with jazz tinged songs and I love her description - a 50s vibe with a bit of soft grunge. Yes please! lol
  4. It's a take on the classic song Music to Watch Girls By. Very clever Lana
  5. If she isn't famous then why is it being reported on? If she isn't famous how the hell does anyone know who she is? lol If it was some random fan saying it no one would care.
  6. True. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they usually stink. Music is Lana's art form, so she owes no one an explanation.
  7. So many people are willing to compromise and sacrifice themselves for someone in a relationship. I'm glad that Lana can say that he needs to take care of some issues. It shows she has a backbone.
  8. Who the fuck is Frances? Just because her father is a famous person that committed suicide all of a sudden her opinion is valid? She is only famous because of who her parents are anyways.
  9. Born to Die has AMAZING songs on it. I appreciate it more when I hear them live, too. UV has great songs as well, but it just doesn't seem as seamless as BtD is. Both great records either way.
  10. I need this PLEASE lol. Especially the live performance of West Coast.
  11. The same way straight people can stay straight.
  12. I like this era of videos from Lana. Shades of Cool is so haunting. UV as a whole is the type of album you have to listen to over a period of time in order to let it register. At least for me lol .
  13. Vinyl has a tendency to do that lol
  14. I didn't mean to be abrupt, i'm sorry. I don't think any of us REALLY know how Lana feels day to day. After reading some of her interviews it can be really confusing to determine what she really means.
  15. You re saying we don't know shit about her then in the same breathe you are saying she's clinically depressed and suicidal. How the hell would you know that without doing a thorough psych evaluation? Lana should develop a thicker skin because haters are always going to be there.
  16. Lana honey, don't look for happiness from others, you will always be disappointed. She needs some positivity and love in her life. UV is def way darker than her previous works. I think she has probably struggled with depression for years. Maybe thats why UV is a conundrum to me. My frame of mind right now is in a good space, but when I am feeling melancholy or blue I put on Lana's music and it soothes me. I hope she can realize that this is her universe and it's up to her to make it the way she want's it.
  17. I agree with some aspects of these reviews. I think what I struggle with is that the amazing melodies on Born to Die and Paradise aren't as prevalent on UV. Shades of Cool, UV and Brooklyn Baby have strong melodies whereas the other tracks don't as much. The same tempo in almost all of the songs makes the album seem to really drag out, which makes me lose interest in listening to it. I am still re listening though so hopefully my ears will catch up.
  18. I listened to UV while driving out in the country today. It was windy and rainy and Lana's music is ethereal, so it matched the weather lol. UV, Shades of Cool, BB and West Coast are the best songs on the album. With that being said, and I do LOVE Lana's music, but for some reason a lot of the other tracks are kind of boring. Maybe I need to listen to it more and be in the right frame of mind. A lot of of the songs have the same tempo and sound, and it get's redundant and hard to listen to. I was expecting more and I am a little disappointed. I still love Lana though and will continue to support her.
  19. CW is turning into my favorite so far, even just from the snippets.
  20. A lot of the songs sound slow tempo and dirge like. I think i will have to hear the complete songs before really making a judgment. Soon!
  21. I find it funny how they call it ARTflop even though I hear Applause and Do What You Want on the radio all the time. That, to me, isn't a flop. People have a hard time supporting one artist without feeling the need to tear another down. Those are the immature people who probably have no idea what it takes to make it in the biz.
  22. This album comes out on my payday. omg. I'm going to Target first thing that morning and getting my copy with the extra bonus track.
  23. I was never really a huge fan but I thought Artpop was a great album. A lot of dance tracks that are more upbeat and fun, not taking herself so seriously. Everyone has different tastes though. Like I never understood the big deal over Marina and the Diamonds. lol
