  1. Arcade Fire's The Suburbs, of course. I've also been listening to a lot of Rilo Kiley and Regina Spektor lately...Rilo's The Execution of All Things and Under the Blacklight are really strong summer albums to me, as is Regina's Begin to Hope. So is King Charles Loveblood (one of my favourite albums of the last few years), and, naturally, Best Coast's Crazy for You. Oh, and David Byrne and Brian Eno's 2008 collaborative album, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.

This is true...but I'm not fully sold that "Heartbreak High" is an outtake. Of course it might be - seriously, we know nothing about it - but we know she's consistently working on new music, and there's a fairly good chance that wherever this song came from, it might be new. At this point, with so little known about her future plans, the only things I'm "encouraging" to leak are the plentitude of songs that were already online at one point or another, e.g. the MySpace demos we're missing.
  3. You think so? I don't mind it myself, but I think the best examples of her flow are her cover of "The Show Goes On" and her song with Rudimental.

YOU ARE????? I would give you some tips, but I don't have any, seeing as I don't think I will be able to see her for at least a long, long time...her concerts always seem like so much fun. :3

How do you know this??? I mean, she wrote "Feel My Pain" at 14...does that make it a '14' outtake?
  6. I just wish it was Charli and Angel, and Marina and Azealia...I feel like that would be a much better match. However, didn't Azealia already make a beef with Mar-Mar too?
  7. "Intuition" is (I think) a cover of the The Weeknd song, and it's nice but not her best...it's an outtake for her album, which should be out soon. Yeah, Azealia and her both fought over some really stupid stuff, but at least Angel apologized. She's not been around for as long as Azealia, but i.m.o. her music is far superior. Yeah, that's really not my thing either...but she has said that her album will include stuff predominantly nothing like anything she's put out so far, so I think in the long run her music is only going to get better. I can't believe this! I think she has some of the best flow I've ever heard, and it strikes me as ironic that you as an Azealia fan would ever call someone else out for having lazy flow.
  8. In other news, Angel Haze posted a picture of Marina, and now my entire world is spinning.

@ if it has to be just one, then "Mess".

This is so hard. Both Matt Squire songs, "Boyfriend Material", all the MNEK songs, "Mess", "Strobe Light", "Animal", "Diamonds", "Get Dirty", "Tulips in the Field", "Pop Princess", "Wish List 1998", "Falling In Love", and all the versions of "Do It Well". I know that's a lot, but it's better than just saying "EVERYTHING", right?

I would have preferred she didn't feel so protective or estranged from her older material. That's not really a career-making decision, but just think how much different (even carefree) her image would be if she wasn't so uptight about anything prior to "Stay Away". I wouldn't mind if she had started with a series of EPs, like Florrie...with someone as prolific as Charli, it's a waste to limit herself to just releasing albums, especially with the existence of her stand-alone singles and all the songs (like "Do It Well") that are strong enough to have propelled her career even without a deal.
  12. I know, it's so maddening...she records what, nine very "personal" songs, etc., but then decides that they're too personal to put on an album, so she makes it into a very limited Psycho-Opera? I just want to hear the studio versions with Mr. Spiegel...the fact she has yet to release a solo album is pretty surprising. If we consider Rilo Kiley as a contemporary - even though they're from opposite ends of the country, etc., they're from about the same time period - the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have so much less material. Both Jenny and Blake have side-projects they work on simultaneously, yet Brian (and most of the time Karen) completely disappear between albums and tours, and Nick just takes photographs and works on symphonies.
  13. Not a traditional release, but Regina has been scoring a Broadway musical for what seems like years now. I don't know when exactly it will be coming out, but the few of her demos from it I've been able to find are really great.
  14. I would....just make sure she knows that Sky took it off of iTunes, etc. I mean, I don't even know how I could process my love of Sky without that EP...it's monumental, colossal, and ground-breaking . It showed that she was even capable of putting out more than one song at a time.
  15. This doesn't strictly count, but because I passed up on it at his show with St. Vincent, I got a copy of Brian Eno & David Byrne's 2008 album 'Everything That Happens Will Happen Today'. It's a very unique album...I don't even know what I could compare it to, but I like it.
  16. One of my best friends can, but I swear, his tongue has some sort of super-flexibity gene that's flat-out unnatural.
  17. I'm probably weird about this, but I absolutely loathe putting any songs on actual CDs that are not in decent quality...so as far as "Great Mistake" and "First Base" go, though I myself adore both, I would put neither on, just because their quality is so terrible. Here's some of my suggestions, though you would know what kinda tastes your friend has. (Not including the EPs, because I'm assuming you realize you are obliged to put both in their entireties. ) Animal American Dream One Obsession Werewolf On the Wire FFA 1985 Whatcha Gonna Do? (Demo) You're Not the One (Live) This is actually really hard.

And at the same time it was part of a Red Bull sponsored thingy, right?
  19. The version used in the music video was slightly longer than the version featured on 'Ghost' proper, but as Jordan once pointed out, it's just a slightly edited version. Guys, if any of you would like the instrumental of "Everything Is Embarrassing", my promo CD came a couple days ago, and I ripped it in ALAC, so if any of you would like it in any format, just send me a PM! Same goes if any of you would like the radio edit, but it's just shorter...to me, I don't think I'll be listening to it very much at all. Maybe if I'm making a friend a CD and need to clip off a couple minutes .

Two things: 1. I found the Charli picture I couldn't find before! 2. My research suggests that in addition to all the different versions of "Do It Well", there are at least two versions of "Princess Song" as well. (The version we have originated from me, by the way - not like I made it or even had it ~first~, but just in case anyone was wondering. I found, after a ton of searching, a fan who started liking Charli during, of all times, 2010. She downloaded both "Machines" and "Princess Song" from Charli's old website, I think she said, back when it was still up.) Not to mention the same for MySpace demo "The Beat", and almost definitely "I Like You"...I still can't believe we have what we do.
  21. I think it's the studio version of 'You're Not the One' playing in the background...
  22. The Sky anthology collection I uploaded last fall...

Seems I'm a little late to the party, seeing as all my favourite lyrical moments are posted now (thanks to @, @@SitarHero Hero, and @@Up All Night), but I think there are a few more moments left for me to bring up. 1. The whole thing of 'Lonely Jaguar' is seriously brilliant. Of course, now we know it's a cover, of a musical at that, but fact remains that we probably would have never heard it without her performance...just a beautiful piece, truly haunting. 2. I adore the verses of 'Emmeline'. Very menacing vocals, but when you can decipher the things she's saying, just wonderful. Get tipsy, tricksy, Dixie Burning colors in your brain Emelline just ruled the world And it won’t be the same Unknot your lips, embrace the trips And tend after your tails Or tie me to the kitchen chair if all else fails Acoustic treats, sadistic beats Get your shoes, move your feet Emelline, you’re running out of time to impress Take off your dress and let them look at the scars From when you met the stars in the backseat of your car I know you lie, Emelline, with your lips Standing like a dollar glass around your neck Just cover it up Put on your spectacles and be a good girl like Mommy said Don’t let the pills affect your head Keep your eyes wide and secretly smile And everybody will try to connect with you and adapt to you They’ll want to dance with you They’ll have to crawl across the room just to get to you 3. 'Dinosaur Sex!' and 'Interior' just have a lot of really witty phrases...so do both versions of 'Machines' and 'Photography', but the last two are undeniably creepy. There were so many directions her career could have gone, it's amazing we still have a few demos to contrast to the route she ended up taking.

I really want to listen to her new song on the 'The Heat' soundtrack, but I can't find a download link anywhere! It's called 'Rock This', and I think it's gonna be really good...if any of y'all happen to have downloaded it, I certainly wouldn't mind being sent a copy.
