    Melanie Martinez

At this point I don't really even care about the video or the "film" or whatever considering she doesn't seem to be bringing anything new to the table, at first I was kinda happy she was continuing with the Crybaby story but now I'm just sick of it and waiting for this video that will prob not be worth the wait
  2. So upon my first listen I wasn't wowed but I'm listening to the tracks one by one and starting to form my thoughts on it.. my only real criticism is the writing. We went from this And I'm off to the races, cases of Bacardi chasers Chasin' me all over town 'cause he knows I'm wasted, Facin' time again on Rikers Island and I won't get out Because I'm crazy baby, I need you to come here and save me I'm your little scarlet, starlet, singin' in the garden Kiss me on my open mouth Ready for you To this Hey, what you doing? Not a lot Shaking and moving In a local spot Baby don't ask me why Don't ask me why (Why, why, why, why, why, why?) Some moments have really strong writing harkening back to older material but at times it just seems so lazy, especially when we know what Lana is capable of. I think this is an album I will listen to one by one, not all at once like I do with UV and BTD. When listened to sequentially I sadly felt myself getting a little bored
  3. 1. Born To Die 2. Paradise 3. Ultraviolence 4. Lust For Life 5. Honeymoon
  4. You're a fighter hunny, I have depression too and the ebbs and flows come to all of us including Lana. I think we can all use her as an inspiration!
  5. I think that people are kinda forcing the "LANA IS HAPPY NOW!!" narrative... Lana probably has some form of clinical depression, and it's likely she's not just "cured" of that. She still sounds melancholy. This record may be lighter in mood than her other material but I'm not sure that she's all rainbows and sunshine now. She seems like she's in a better place and I think we should accept that instead of forcing L4L to be her "happy" record
  6. I actually thought the Pitchfork interview was heartbreaking, the parts about not liking UV, saying danger was all she knew in her life, when she begins to cry while talking about seeing no color in the world, when she starts to say she doesn't know what the record was about. But I loved that she backtracked her comments on feminism and that she appeared so candidly. You can really hear her mood changes in her answers though, when she begins to give short ones
  7. Nothing's been confirmed yet, as of rn the event page says the show is today. Live nation deleted the ticket page so its probably part of a larger tour that hasn't been announced yet
  8. If anyone bought more than 1 of the autographed CDs or vinyls and is willing to part with one PLEASE let me know, I will pay literally 5x as much as you did
  9. It is hahaha she's been angrily replying to people all morning
  10. I know you guys have seen the tweets but I'm legit shook about how angry Lana seems to be about the leak on twitter, if she ever replied to my tweets like that idk what i'd do
  11. I just hope everyone that listened to the leak will also buy the album and stream on release day
  12. Where are people seeing reddit posts from people who have it? Reddit obv but what thread/subreddit
  13. For me, Born To Die reminds me of my days in mid-high school when it first came out when I listened to it the full way through at least twice a day. I related (and still do) so much to the voice of that album, which seemed to me to be a vulnerable girl wanting desperately for something better than she has which was also who I was at the time. So much of the lyrical content contained things I related to directly- the American dream concept, depression, lost and lingering love, the danger of losing yourself in a world of glamour with a dark underbelly, even just my tendency to wear heart-shaped glasses. I feel like myself when I listen to it. I think for me it will always be the album I run to when I need to feel understood. As much as I love the other albums, I've yet to form such an emotional connection with them. Lust For Life could change that
  14. I'm praying she does a signing, or has meet and greet opportunities with her tour (assuming she does a proper one). I still haven't met her.
  15. Do you guys think she will announce an official tour aside from the festival dates? Maybe in the Fall or Spring? I haven't seen her live in almost 3 years, I'm dying to hear new music live and have the chance to meet her

    Lorde

I think it's a little different than Melanie bc she basically had a whole ass meltdown on stage just because some fans were talking while she was, its not like she was in the middle of a very personal song, she was just speaking in between tracks. Matty from The 1975 does this too while singing "Me" which is about his family and his suicidal thoughts, but he respectfully asks for phones to be put away and for quietness before beginning. I did think it was rude to watch Lorde shush the crowd with her hands and she could be more polite to the crowd that paid to see her but it's probably just a song that means a lot to her
  17. Why does this camera quality look 10x better than the front and back covers, I always thought the cover looked like it was shot on a basic crappy camera
  18. Can someone like edit the drum machine beat out of Coachella bc I feel like that's the reason the production seems so cheap The lyrics are honestly nice, but put over that distracting ugly drumroll they seem like nothing Basically ALL the snippets got me excited. Heroin sounds really beautiful, so does WM (but we already knew that) I have so much faith
