Now that I'm thinking about M5, she said this record is sociopolitical which kinda worries me because when she goes political... well... However, she wrote Sex Yeah and Man's World, meaning that she actually can make good woke or political songs after all (althot idk if sex yeah is political but anywaes)... Plus, she wrote this new album by her own and Jack isn't involved on the production so I got my hopes up

"Take me back to the origins of “Man’s World.” Was it inspired by any particular idea or event? I wrote it last summer in August. I’d already decided I was gonna write this new record alone, and the process felt like a reaction to what I had previously released, which is often the case. Each record I do is sort of like the opposite of the previous one. At the time I was mostly inspired by the shifts that are happening for people who are discriminated against. The original idea for the song was to write a snapshot of how women and LGBTQ+ individuals have been subjugated and discriminated against throughout history going back to the Salem witch trials, where any person who was deemed abnormal or slightly alternative was singled out. Those kinds of patterns are still present in society. That’s something inspiring to me and worth writing about."

Probably off-topic but Sandie/TGB was such an inspiration to me. I honestly found her from that ~video that y'all must know~ and I did end terrified, but when I read her biography I swiftly appreciated her. She's had such a hard life since her childhood and that video DID affect her "reputation" (idk if that's the appropiated term to use but idgaf). I'm really bummed by her death but I'm glad she has gotten love & support from people in the Internet because I've seen her called a Walrus. RIP

the snippets she teased sound quite unique and cool. Man's World despite being political has great lyrics, catchy melodies and atmospheric & non-generic production, so who knows?

I also love its production and how intense and spooky the track is but I consider Guilty the weakest song on that album. Bad Kidz and SATW were stronger than some tracks

I'm aware she has made a lot of songs about Barrie but since this song was probably recorded in the periodt where she was dating the cop, probably these lines are about him. Plus, it's been 6 years since she splited with Barrie (although that doesn't mean anything but js)

So... Just speculation but I guess this track is partially about Sean since: 1. It mentions the month he was born 2. This song was probably made or written when they both started to date (basing myself on Clampigirl's COCC timeline) 3. This is up for interpretation but the song is to me kind of romantic inb4yallalreadyknewthis
