  1. Bc u personally decide what defeats you, yeah. Granted w social issues it's sooo much more complex than that, which I think why society acts more in groups, but definitely. How can u take care of others as effectively, if u can't take care of yourself first? So much more to think about.. I'm glad u got to working things out, don't let it shake you up too much if anything
  2. There really are a lot of factors, but mm yeah basically social media brings a lot out of people, and sometimes sort of uploading parts of ur pysche onto the internet and reacting rather than responding's what elicits some kind of stronger sub for reach for human connection thru what they express. It's still sort of like a classroom. And it seems it's more important to people to get what's owed to them or what they think rather than have the patience to see things through. Silence is painted to everything else, like everything else, and while I get it, the involvement is a bit more put on a pedestal that ur then removed from. People dont usually take the time to look at the entire picture and get confused at the strokes, or choice of frames/ materials. As if opinion was king, and garnering numbers for support was the true sub for understanding. I really think a lot is rooted back to validation of realities, which I get, but I really think it starts more w the self, rather than finding it from/projecting it onto others. And u question, to what degree is it even valid, between what's being said, opinion and their mingling. It takes a lot to be prepared for being on the internet and I think a lot of people just forget that, and if intentional, well motives should be checked too. It can be construed as some kind of cry for help, but at the end of the day we should really just be looking out for each other and helping our own selves. It all just seems like the net's a collective brain w differing and paralleling thoughts that aim to find reason, but like. When does it begin to function as a whole? Sorry I was getting a bit philosophical, but asking someone to validate your pain shouldnt really be surrendered to another person. It'd just bring more pain and be less centering. The trust has to be there for it to be properly shared to see things thru. But sometimes it's just not taken. Granted w certain issues it's a lot more complex than that but I really think deeper thinking, a more supporting, patient perspective, really fosters healing than spreading violence does. Funnily enough, when talking about the self, and how events played out w Lana, people chose to still listen to her music thru their choice, when in a way that's what she was sort of doing. I think it's bc we were all so mystified by it, and the pain from it brought out some wisdom. Except, there really was no violence thru her singing, just what she went thru and what she owned from it. Communication's funny huh? Hahahaha
  3. I think it's connected in a way that Lana's a celebrity/artist as well. I'm pretty sure Barry means well too. I honestly think Kim K's amazing for being able to playing an integral part in Alice Marie's granted clemency. Just saying. Would be an amazing feat if Lana were able to pull something off like that is what probably everyone's thinking about after that sentence more or less. I think that might be a celebrity to politics sweet spot. Cue the sarcasm etc. but hey, legit no pressure, it feels like, and w the upcoming record and poetry books that's she's just getting started. I honestly just wish the internet'd be more patient w her. two cents
  4. Sorry I know that was a mouthful.. but yeah mhm.. Edit: @@GeminiLanaFan so we dont derail the thread hahaha: (:
  5. I really think it starts w more transparency btwn the leaders and the people. I think information's got to be made more available and gradually integrated objectively into news media so the people can make informed decisions, at least a little easier. Not everyone's got lawyers that can dissect acts etc. Most people have busy lives to lead and I'm sure it'd help many. Also, I'm thinking mental/emotional regulating of officers more. The cop who did the deed had multiple conduct complaints on his record and his superiors didn't seem to do anything about it prior and then, how everything started. More monitoring of the police force in general bc the power is there and it should be checked. I think counseling should be made mandatory for cops while they're employed. Dont quote me on this but cops usually get screened before the job, and of course their persepctives and behaviors can change, so its important to really regulate/ provide attention to it. Last thing, I really think that community service should be more prominently introduced to inmates and finding better solutions for them once they're out or while in their stay bc chances of them getting back in are higher than not. Also, statisically, the system pays more money towards the average prisoner than they do their college students which says A LOT. I think I'll stop there, but yeah a lot needs to be done. It's just all connected and impacts us all heavily.
  6. Mm. If anything, it really just warrants the age old perspective that the funding behind those forces are warranted to protect the people. There's a contract of peace between the government and people, in a way where we're paying taxes etc. for their protection. Control is implied, and clearly the trust isn't there. Granted, we're all accountable bc we all live in our communities, so I really think that the movement does start with us as individuals at numerous varieties and methods and tones of expression. and that's it's our responsibility to look into ourselves and be smart enough to communicate the why's. I don't think their actions are rooted in love, but for personal gain, selfishness, and if they think about it a lot more, they're just contributing to our downfall as a free people, or whatever's left of the concept. It's infuriating.
  7. It's real duplicitous bc rioters make the movement look real bad and prompt more police/corps action, while taking attention away from those peacefully protesting, but at the same time, it does bring faster media attention, widespread awareness. Not gonna condone violence, ever and personally do believe that peaceful protests are the way to go. I get that the system needs a LOT of reform, but damaging it thru setting things on fire, hurting the mom n pops and even bringing innocent people, especially those who're trying to help, safely, just doesn't represent the message and the movement that others are trying so hard to get others into in a mature way, a more welcoming way. How are others supposed to dive in when the fear is valid, on top of covid 19 around it, just doesn't do much long range. The reparation funds are gonna go back to the business and the system first. which is ironic, bc we're trying to get funding back to the PEOPLE. the damage deters that further. it divides people because the people rampaging are rationalizing their actions and I get the rage, I do, but long range, it just fucks things up for everyone in the long run. it doesn't give peace a chance. and mocks those who truly believe in it, and the solidarity that those are doing their best already into giving them a fair say bc of their actions. On the other side of the coin perspective regarding Lana posting, varying degrees of intent and its direction, she could've just been posting for awareness of the reality of this part of the current events bc it is happening. Clearly she cares of how her audience reacts, and decided to take it down. I do appreciate that she took it down to save the people in the video. There's a skepticism that's been rapidly just coming upfront bc of how fast social media operates, at the speed of clicks n buttons, but combine that w the lack of patience, and willingness to see the other side 'cept their own, potentially drags us into not thinking for ourselves, and blurs what acceptance is regarding our fellow human brothers and sisters. How do we frontier that if the methods don't aim to really connect? Emotions are a powerful driving force, but in my opinion, it shouldn't blind. I do think it should be taken into consideration for the sake of connecting values, but when the chemicals run out, be mindful of where that can take us. We have to repetitively ask ourselves. Are we thinking for ourselves and the collective good in a worthwhile way? Are we playing into someone else's hand? We've a constant responsibility to renew our minds in a way that represent each and every one of us into consideration. bc if we don't. Those w more funding are just gonna watch us fight while nothing gets done.
  8. I've been listening to this album almost nonstop for the past few days sine it came out n I've been connecting to it even more an I'm just in love w the idea of how amazing this'd be at some kind of rave/festival/club. like damn. I just miss the physical camaraderie probs gonna echo others as well as myself. the chromaludes are amazing. reminds me a little of yeah final fantasy, GoT, the teardrop sound @ the 22 sec mark for the first. the emerging strings and how the violin zigzags how II really sets up the feeling of wonder and loss to then transitioning to 911 how bright and newly affirmative III is. sets up SINE real well. I can see how this album's such an improvement for her. There's a kind of maturity to it w how more blended/ subtle it is. Sad lyrics, upbeat sound. those songs are just a vibe.
  9. we seem to alienate each other already for various grades of things. so transitorially, sometimes u just ask where the humans are, where humanity is
  10. Makes me so happy for her: https://twitter.com/NASA/status/1267137762966339587?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1267137762966339587&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgagadaily.com%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcore%26module%3Dsystem%26controller%3Dembed%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FNASA%2Fstatus%2F1267137762966339587%3Fs%3D20
  11. it's included in the Fame Monster Deluxe hahahahaha
  12. it was incredible sh*t timing. and I think she was trying to promote her work w confidence til everything just unraveled. I do think it plays a very large part of how things went/ are going down.
  13. With that, I'm glad you do. but there's a pattern of you, I perceive, that you do comment, and in addition to how others already view you, elicit a reaction for them immediately correct what you've got to say. and then it starts again over and over. you might not be a bad person, but perception does a lot for everyone, and right now, objectively that's what the pattern shows. I'm saying all of this calmly. I think it'd be wiser if you read the comments and tailored your comments in a fashion that takes more into consideration. that way, you get to say what you'd like in a way that doesnt rub others the wrong way like they've much reason to assume regarding the record you've trailed. and can we please go easy on the guy a bit w the shut the fuck ups, fuck u's etc. as if that was even as effective. he's someone that's trying to understand if even so marginalized in his thinking, but can we look at it as an opportunity for him to grow and better our guys' arguments instead? edit: @@Lucas B. I'm gonna get some rest. I hope someone else can take what I said to heart, as ell as for yourself too. Don't forget ur stan/star got herself into trouble for the same things online. if she's getting hellfire for malperceived intent, do u really think someone they might see less is going to get less than that. factors. pls think about it, ok?
  14. hey man, I'm giving u the benefit of the doubt, and there's gotta be some kind of good in you to defend/question the situation and try to immerse urself in the conversation. I hope ur brother's ok. but. I also think that it'd be a lot wiser for ya to be a bit more self-aware at how your comments might and do come across. it's diverting the thread to get upset at you. Relaying it more with your comments, although valid w the news etc. and happening, just might come across as you not finishing what you start, and just get people irate w you. and I get their side, but u seem like u need more info if only to protect u from ridicule too. if you wanna talk about the issues, i'll volunteer for your questions. dm me. haven't slept, but I'll try to answer ur questions from a fair pov. ok?
  15. Been trying to defend or bring about the conversation that more need to try and look out for each other regardless of sides. and while I do genuinely believe that it's really none of our business, and that the situation is sad. a simple, "I'm still processing, you have my support, be safe while acting" if even from her managers a direct quote, would do so well to quell and dissipate a lot, at least in the forum, and the people who in a way still do look up to her and her platform. she's not responsible for the entirety of it, she's still just a part of the complex happenings and the systems that play a part in our lives. And I'm not one for sacrificing the peace/safety of others to impose anything on their lives, bc we should do more for ourselves, ourselves (please be safe), but been trying to operate more from a place of understanding and love, but that simple statement would do so much. then some kind of blackout that's already been. she doesn't belong to us. and there are bigger things. but what happened to innocent until proven guilty. like granted we're trying to move on from this particular situation, bc bigger things, but just some damage control. and the truth in the situation is that it is sad. but regarding this, it's all we can really do. can we tone down the swaying from whether or not its right to defend her, bc there's validity to both sides. and be more mindful of how some of our comments are/ can be construed towards each other? for all sides. it's disheartening. Before this post gets ignored or whatever, and we start echoing our comments towards others' faulted delivery, can we just deal w those w something single, and try to move on?
  16. I really dont think you're helping. This is a lot more complex than what you're writing. Please think harder..
  17. What is this. And reality is. She really doesnt. The systems in place are faulty. There are different types of oppression and how they come about. And why would you figuratively sacrifice a person, send them somewhere as if it were ur decision to make? And it isn't. Does having that movement warrant that really? Sacrificing lives? Doesnt that just make us the same monsters opressing others?, For anyone. What's the point of power if its going to put someone thru that, and with such disdain. (if anyone's gonna say, well that's just figurative, well then does that mean that your intent's not whole? is she just a receptacle, lightning rod to your pain?). Has anyone considered their personal approaches on the matter instead of backpedalling or sticking on "your side" of the spectrum? Pain's universal. I get the racism and how it's like to be treated less for how someone can be. It's that pain that WE all feel. It comes in different ways. Regardless if it's just an average person trying to live, or someone living it up. That's just careless to say. We're supposed to be adjusting ourselves, and doing better for ourselves as people, together. Not mimicking their behaviors. I've made posts trying to bring people together on the subject, from a bigger picture perspective, but it seems like everyone's just not wanting to be as openminded on talking things through together.
  18. Actually and I agree w u on some points, but when it comes to mental health. I really do think its a factor to really think about and consider. We personally don't know how she is bc its not our sphere. But mental health imo is definitely a valid reason to lay low. How can she help others if she cant help herself first? Its a rabbit hole, and moments of mental health fluctuation, its drop can last longer for how they are. It's just terrible. Please take that into consideration if anything.
  19. alright. not to b condescending or anything, but u were already warned by a mod, and well the homophobe comment although maybe well-meaning, could be misconstrued. just a head's up. be well too. if it's all the same to you, I'm just gonna let the current convo flow
  20. mm yeah but there's already a thread about it in the Lana Thoughts(?) section. I just wanted to be able to have a post or something to keep everyone up to speed easier. As long as people are here and the discussion's steered here, might as well make it easier for others to get caught up and join if they wanted to.
