  1. If she wanted to quit smoking, aren’t there nicotine patches or gum she could’ve bought instead?
  2. Found this one on Buzzfeed. Which "Don't Call Me Angel" Singer Are You — Ariana, Miley, Or Lana? https://www.buzzfeed.com/annielwd/are-you-lana-del-rey-miley-cyrus-or-ariana-grand-62u6n5kl7m I got Queen Lana.
  3. Should I make a thread for the Grammy submissions? In the news section (but then a mod has to approve it first) or the thoughts section? Edit: Wait, the news are fake? :c Edit 2: They’re fake.
  4. Me: reads pretty much everywhere that people are worrying about the shipments, emails and more Me: still wants to order stuff
  5. I got my Switch as a birthday gift in 2017 with Zelda:BotW and Mario Kart 8 but didn't dare to pick it up until a year later, mostly because I didn't want to get addicted when I had to study instead. If you guys know me, I adore Zelda games so can you imagine the willpower I had to not touch it for so long?? Anyway, if I were to make a list of games too...
  6. I’ve been thinking a little bit and I think that my problem isn’t that the BTD songs (BTD, Video games, Blue Jeans, and occasionally Summertime Sadness) are always there because they are her breakthrough songs. There are still fans who haven’t had the chance to hear them live yet and I’m sure they’d love to hear them too, and Lana isn’t the only one to keep old hits in her set lists (my brother, for example, is kinda sick of Elevation on U2’s tours but I love it and it makes the whole arena jump so I don’t mind). They kind of have to be there. I think the problem now though is that her shows are quite short - if she sang for longer, there would be no problem to add newer songs or songs she rarely sings live and still keep the classic BTD tracks. Like we’ve mentioned, you expect something more and longer shows when the ticket prices go up too (especially if the stages still look somewhat similar and the set lists too). And maybe it is time to quit coming down to the crowd, like a music reporter from a newspaper here suggested earlier this year. It’s cute, it’s VERY generous of her to come down every show but she’s kinda becoming quite big now and may not have to flirt with the crowd like that. (Aaand she sometimes goes down to the same people anyway - I had no hopes that she’d stop by me, which she didn’t, so I wasn’t disappointed, but I know other fans have been). Anyway, I completely agree with @@daphnedinkley above.
  7. I'm listening to a radio show where they're comparing composer Franz Schubert with Lana. Weird, but still cool. Now they're playing Love Song. I've only heard about 11 minutes so far so I'm not sure where they're going, but I think it's about the same longing for romance and being dreamers. They said if Schubert's music was made today, it might sound like Lana's. Let me know if you want me to go all bananas again and translate it. https://sverigesradio.se/sida/avsnitt/1359653?programid=4914
  8. Do you think she'll make this album very California heavy too? Cali, and especially LA, has always been there in Lana's world but I feel like she really went all in in Norman with all the references.
  9. This thread and this one too: http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/10631-lanas-lacking-live-performances-a-discussion/ (Maybe her management checks this forum from time to time but we also know they don't particularly like us so I guess they just dismiss our concerns.)
  10. I don’t think we can “blame” it on nerves anymore though, she’s said herself that she could wake up in the middle of the night and be a ready to get on stage. She is confident but I think that maybe she’s chilling a bit too much on stage. Maybe.
  11. Bought Wolfenstein 2: the new colossus for Switch for my brother because it’s on a super sale or something and he’s currently abroad.
  12. YES. Do you have any close friends here on LB?
  13. What was the VIP merch btw? Any pictures? Edit: Thank you, @@SouthInGuy <3 https://twitter.com/honeymoonhunny/status/1175562646944452609?s=21
  14. The problem is though that, I think, she doesn’t care much about bad reviews. Just look at her reaction to Ann Powers’ review of NFR!, and several other times as well. And I kinda understand Lana too: she’s a strong believer of her vision (which I love!) and she sees that what she’s doing now is working, fans are still coming to her shows and worship her for anything and everything. Why need to change if it works?
  15. All those peaches she’s gonna throw from the stage must be hella expensive if the tour tickets cost more than her previous tour. Jokes aside, I do agree with the criticism here. Her tour is named after the new album, of course people are gonna expect her to sing the newer songs (although I was afraid she’d keep the same set list as the summer tour earlier this year since the time between the last festival date and this first tour date weren’t that far away - her band had a short break and she’s said before that they haven’t learned certain songs for the new concerts, I didn’t expect them to learn newer ones for now either. Maybe for the European leg though, but my hopes are small). And she should definitely be on stage for longer too, there’s no festival this time where she *needs* to please casual fans and hardcore stans and enter/leave stage after a certain amount of time. I don’t know what goes on during rehearsals, but I think it would be nice to hire a choreographer/stage designer to come up with new ideas (where to stand, what to do, if they should keep the swing etc) and a vocal coach to make her confident with her higher notes again. And, maybe Lana and her band should rehearse newer songs a lot more before tours. She’s been a famous singer for so long now, I think it’s natural for people to expect her to improve and keep her shows entertaining and interesting (and PLEASE get rid of the back vocals!! Hire real choir singers instead, they can improve your shows so much!! Really disappointing that she needed them for Bartender - again, rehearse more and I don’t think you’ll need them) I loved her dress, but yeah, maybe it’s not concert material. I think she looked stunning though. From the few clips I’ve seen, I think she sounded great as well, TNC was really beautiful. Also, I’m super surprised that she didn’t sing Cinnamon - every single fan at her festival shows screamed for her to play it! I thought she knew it would be a fan favorite. But maybe the band don’t know it yet...
