yes dembow is faster than reggaeton! it's like the beat never ends! dembow is not as popular as a genre today, in my opinion, but many reggaeton singers r doing dembow songs! and exactly, i was just going to write that the one artist that is currently doing full dembow songs is el alfa tbh i can't believe busta rhymes is in that remix! totally unexpected! la mamá de la mamá de la mamá de la mamá is such a bop la zowi just dropped a dembow song last week! i still don't know what i think of it

haha, hello there. to each, their own, i guess?

ok my favorites were jacuzzi, te lo dije and muito calor! ozuna normally sounds well with whoever sings with him... i love her first collab with Rosalia! i think jacuzzi has an acordeon in the instrumental and i like that, it's very different and reminds me of colombian cumbia! natti natasha is also a fave of mine thank u so much for this recommendation, i really need to listen to more of her! also came here to say i started to listen to taichu and i can't stop playing this song also have you listened to tokischa? pls these titles r so explicit. i think this would be a dembow and not reggaeton? but... EDIT: also i love how j balvin really does anything he likes! i really miss his romantic style, though, i gotta admit i tend to dwell on past memories he and anitta are great together

please, if you ever decide to start listening to any reggaeton, do come here and confide your thoughts to this thread <333 whaaat i didn't know there was a ginza remix with anitta and this song is super old god she's really beautiful and she's singing in Portuguese! it sounds so breathy... tbh i really love when two languages are combined in a song, it's a good way to make people from either country get curious about what's going on! i put the gata video on and the clothes and makeup are amazing! love that it features a song by plan b at the start!! a deserved win obviously and it makes you feel proud to see her thrive, she's been working hard for years and years i luv this song chencho is a fave... he's featured in rosalia's "CANDY". i really should listen to more of anitta! the song with mambo kingz is the shiiiit i can't believe i've never listened to it before! also i can't get this song out from my head and it's been months

yes! let's twerk. i know this song omg and i like it! it's played a lot on the radio. tini is from argentina indeed, she was actually a disney star! she's not very well liked in this country bc of very stupid things (she's dating a football player from the national team and some people say she's going to bring bad luck to the team! pls...) but i like the songs she's put out since she decided to turn to reggaeton ~ i actually love this song she has with l-gante who's like, the biggest star ATM here. it's a song about being broken up to in a bar and drinking and dancing while mourning . he's also very hated here bc of classism but his music is everywhere really! there needs to be a study on why argentinians looooooooove to listen to his music while belittling him just for being raised in a poor househould . this song went super viral here and i think they made a very nice song together. it talks about taking things easily. EDIT: i know, women in reggaeton are another entity completely. i personally think people don't get it, i like how they play on their roles in the music industry and the genre in particular, and how they stick up to those stupid questions they ask about being promiscous or whatever. but boys can be good too <3 i just dislike their discourse sometimes, but you know, just take it as it is

yes! BR has different musical influences & culture, and let's not start in the language! we live so close yet i don't understand a tad bit of Portuguese. the other day i decided to make a Feijoada, tho! but that's another story. tbh, i'm not that new in reggaeton (my mom used to listen to tego calderon a lot when i was a kid!), but only a few years back I decided to truly indulge in it! here it's the most popular music genre and i was surrounded by it 24/7 so there was really no escape. here, the only known brazilian artist is anitta, who's gorgeous btw and sings beautifully. i love her song downtown w j balvin whom i'm seeing next month (so excited!) and her song with justin quiles too (he's great, have you ever listened to him?). i'm also super happy abt that, bc in the 00s it became popular, but it didn't become global in the broader sense and i'm glad it happened! reggaeton is still a young genre, and there's still a lot to do creatively and performance wise in it, i'm sure! i like it because you can dance to it and think about nothing! and i love that women have turned reggaeton into something else! for example, cazzu was a metalhead + huge pop fan when she was a kid and she has made her own visual world taking things from metal n pop culture. she's channeling Xtina here i think. i wish to also thank rosalia for that tbh! i know she's Spanish and here in LatAm there's this idea that she can't do what she does because she's not Latina but tbh, Spanish reggaeton is so good... idk why ppl are like that

She's amazing really! Yung Beef's, who's also featured in the song, full artistic name is Young and Beautiful AKA Lana Del Rey... he's a fave really and I kinda resent him because he was following Lana in the Honeymoon account way before I was following her... Your music taste is so good!! Mariah is going to become a legend, I'm sure her easy going, laid back flow is amazing. I knew her because of Perreito but listened to her more after she dropped a song with Guaynaa (Rebota? An amazing song, the oldies reincarnated). Reggaeton de Antes, a song she has with Ecko, is one of the highlights of his career really, and I really like Ecko. I also love this one

La Goony Chonga is so great and seems so sweet, I will listen to her more! She kills it in this song with La Zowi, whom I saw live the other night! They're so good together

Hi! I don't know if this is a repeated thread. If so, I apologize. I decided to start a thread on Reggaeton and Latin trap in means to share and discuss songs, artists and albums. It's obviously a very general thread! I'd like to start by sharing the Rolling Stones' ranking of Reggaeton songs and some songs I personally love, from oldies to the new stuff!

Lana doing an UV inspired song these days... Sure

Take me to places I don't know Like it's an endless pre-release thread babe

How I wish the Bad Bunny collaboration would have happened . Lana's voice would suit the lower register and the dark instrumentals of the old reggaeton songs very well. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks and mourns over this collab but I will never get over it like she would KILL it if she did bridges or hooks for reggaeton music and I've always thought so 👏👏

Drunk as hell as I'm leaving a reggaeton party in an Uber... All I can think of, though, is this damn album. I hold onto the mention of Honeymoon in that interview as if I was holding a newborn baby.

Happiness is a Butterfly: I love how softly she sings this song. It really is a beautiful piece of music. I love the "if he's a serial killer then what's the worst that can happen to a girl who's already hurt?" and I used to think it was a silly one but I now believe it's very deep and interesting. Blue Banisters: I still don't like the part of "she was swimming with Nikki Lane" and so, but I love the outro, the way she pronounces Oklahoma (I sing along when I hear it) and the long Ah's and Uh's she does here. Tulsa Jesus Freak: I really like the "we're white hot forever, ever, ever" part. I think it's what gets me every time.

Your Comfort Shows, Movies?
niandra lades replied to Make me your Dream Life's topic in Movies & Television
Dexter: I really like this one, but up to the end of season 4. The ending of that one was so good! The perfect ending, in my opinion, for the whole show. They made 5 seasons after that, so imagine Gone Girl: I love it! The book which this movie is based on was the first book I read in English, and I'm reading it again at the moment, now with a Dictionary in hand. It's a thrilling story that immerses you in the head of Amy and Nick. Rosamund Pike nailed Amy Dunne. Breaking Bad: I've watched it 3 times already! I adore Aaron Paul's character and I love the art direction of the series in general, same with the parallels they built around every event and character. High School Musical: Really, Ashley Tisdale was my first crush. The first movie leaves me with a smile on my face every time since 2005. I still know every song by heart. I had an Ashley Tisdale album and I would play it to no end and kiss her face. -
Lana at the Malibu Chili Cook-Off in Malibu, CA - September 3rd, 2022
niandra lades replied to Elle's topic in Sightings
She has gained weight, so what? Lana and I have a very similar body type and I've gotten bigger and chubby and I'm enjoying food so much and I believe I look hot nevertheless. To be honest, seeing Lana and seeing how many smiles she gives (and how cute she is!) has made me feel better about myself. I suffered a lot because of my weight and at some point I wasn't even at 50kg and it was very difficult for me to realize and accept that I now weight much more than that, because I was so used to see a skinny body when I looked in the mirror. Lana looks glowy and has truly made me feel better. I think those flannels should be out of her closet because her arms and shoulders are super beautiful , but it's her choice and she's beautiful regardless of what she's wearing. I hate to see those hateful comments because I struggle a lot myself with my mother's comments about my body, I can't even imagine how it'd be like if I was famous -
She's perfect and Blake is prettier than ever 🥺

Saw that this thread was trending, thought Lana had done or said something about the album but it turns out it was only us being victims of ourselves... again
-
Wow! I honestly did not know this. She was super smart to create that alter ego, though. It really is an amazing album and it's truly one of my favorites ever. I should listen to her more, I loved the last album but I didn't really pay much attention to it.
-
Thinking that maybe Lana's current music will resonate with me more when I'm in my 30s 🤔 looking forward to my SUV
-
Thank God we stan Lana who won't keep her thoughts inside her head

I can't wait another year, miss Lana I am already in shambles waiting for this one, imagine if we enter 2023 without a new album This forum might explode since we're already at page 420 and there hasn't been any solid info since May...
