She’s promoting a lot, actually — by her standards, of course. Major magazines + insightful interviews, online visibility, a whole public appearance and winning an award 💀 and there are more magazines and probably radio interviews coming in the next month. Not to mention, live shows for the first time in 3 and a half years - which is traditionally the way artists “promote” their records anyway, and has been since the dawn of music. So I think we’re having a pretty eventful time here as Lipsters lol.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m feeling the sort of lightness and realization that I felt in summer 2019 leading up to NFR’s release. Things feel really good and normal again for the first time in 3 years, and especially ahead of this album’s release - I feel like that’s got to be a good sign. And not just for the record, but for everything in general.

The way she said Born to Die was for the boys, even going as far as to say “pick me!” She’s hilarious.

OK but “Oh God, want you on my lips (I do, I do) / it’s me, your little Venice Bitch” with heavy beats similar to that of the live version this closer is going to be for the books.

Ugh the Rolling Stone interview has me even more excited. Not just for the music but also for her frame of mind. and super excited for the OG Venice Bitch!!

I love this interview. It’s such a vicarious feeling to read that she’s reached a place she has always wanted to get to. I’m so excited for this record and to hear all of the labouring she’s done in her life through the music. We really stan the most prolific and generous artist that there is!

I like the new album! It’s more vibes than anything thematically substantive like her first two releases, but that’s not a critique at all. Not really loving the setlist though, but here’s to hoping that’s just a one-off thing?

Do whatever you want, no judgement here - but I have to say that for myself, listening to leaks is like spoiling a surprise. I want my first time hearing the songs to be with the HQ m4a files I bought myself rather than having to run the risk of low quality, “tagged” (aka bastardized) versions. Maybe that’s a bit purist, but I think some things are worth saving for the right time - and it gives you something to look forward to! But I get that when we’re so excited to hear the songs, we jump at the chance to hear them lol. It’s human nature!

I haven’t even heard the leaks but just reading this makes me feel sad lol. I completely agree. Not to be sensitive or read too deep into it (as I’m sure some people will accuse me of doing), but that is a bastardization of the art and completely disrespects the integrity of it all.

It probably is a matter of not updating their system, but as a Canadian, my order on her store says it’s shipping this Thursday…

Yes, we have done a LanaBoards Demographics Survey for at least two years now! Kindly coordinated by @Frangipani. I’m in the same boat as you, but I think luckily we’re the median-ish age lol.

Wow at some users being 13 with NFR…I am a bit surprised at members’ ages here. But hopefully that registers with people around here to show more understanding and empathy in our interactions, given the differences in age

Yeah, I think it was a typo OR she meant “turn off” as in “kick off” (and just made up her own little phrase, as she often does lol. Colloquialism-inventing queen!) Nonetheless, I think we can safely conclude that there will be shows throughout the summer.

I can’t predict my ranking, but I do know that I’m especially looking forward to Fingertips and Grandfather. Every song on the album is going to be incredible though, I can already tell!

I say this ahead of every album release, but I really think this one will be a contender for one of her best (if not the best)!
