Omg girl 😭 you don’t sound pessimistic at all and you are NOT dragging anything on at all. Don’t let anyone make you think that you are either 🚫 ❤️ That’s a good point! He could be an engineer (on the cover it just says Dean Reid and Laura Sisk, but Ian could also be part of the crew - Sam Dew technically has production/writing credits on A&W but isn’t credited on the cover. So you may be right!! 🫶)

My perhaps controversial take is that her BBC interview was actually really good…like yes, it was definitely overblown because of the general controversy around her at the time, but what she actually said was really profound. It’s really important to hear what someone is saying and separate it from all the “noise” people make around it. On topic: She was working with an “Ian” ( Ian Fitchuk?) in Sept as per her IG stories and he’s not on Ocean Blvd at all — so it’s not far fetched that 6 months later, she has another album to announce (presumably with those Ian songs)

Ugh loved all her summer 2019 radio interviews. Seems like she’s back in that really serene and content temperament. Can’t wait to hear everything she has to say on the air

Did you know a singer could still be lookin like a side-piece at 33? The way she says that is so weathered down but spiteful at the same time. Ugh. I live for it. Her subtle but masterful delivery of lines really adds so much to the songs. No other singer compares when it comes to saying so much with such a nuanced and pared down approach.

I think it is meant to be taken literally as wedding imagery but all of those things are slang for drugs (according to Urban Dictionary lol). I wonder if she purposely picked things that evoke a wedding, but have this other, darker meaning — which suggests something more tragic, namely, that of a marriage which never ended up lasting.

Not crazy at all, I think you’re right (at least knowing what we know as fans). This is also supported by the fact that a fan asked Lana on her IG live on September 3, 2019 which lyric she was most proud of on the album — and she said “hello, it’s the most famous woman you know on the iPad / calling from beyond the grave, I just wanna say hi, Dad.” And she said “every now and then you write a particular lyric and you know that it’s, like, impactful for you…for you only. Like, why did that…why did that come up for me? And in a way, I realized I wasn’t speaking to anybody except for my dad in that moment. You know, like, call me, you know?” At the time, I remember hearing her say that and kind of being able to decipher what she was getting at, but also knowing that it was probably an extremely veiled line with personal significance to her. But after recent insights on the last few records and her sharing more about her maternal relationship, this—in retrospect—actually reveals a lot. Hope is really a lyrical centre-point for her discography - it’s one of the most important and most autobiographical songs, as mysterious as it is.

She’s promoting a lot, actually — by her standards, of course. Major magazines + insightful interviews, online visibility, a whole public appearance and winning an award 💀 and there are more magazines and probably radio interviews coming in the next month. Not to mention, live shows for the first time in 3 and a half years - which is traditionally the way artists “promote” their records anyway, and has been since the dawn of music. So I think we’re having a pretty eventful time here as Lipsters lol.
