  1. Thinking about the NFR rollout makes me laugh…it picked up as a traditional cycle in the summer of 2019 but she really didn’t give a fuck in the 9 months before that and STILL reached a career peak She is so casually cool. Goals.

Sorry - I know I made a comment like this so I hope it didn’t strike too strong a chord. And again - it’s only my gauge of what she’s been doing as of late. Going back to the discourse on capitalism - that’s where the claims of inauthenticity stem from too, for me. The direction appears to be shaped by what’s profitable - which isn’t bad, necessarily. But it feels like a bit of a contradiction when something as organic as poetry is being used as a device to garner capital - rather than for the sake of the art. My two cents though and I totally get what you mean <3

I feel like her shtick lately is trying to be a “poet” of Lana’s calibre but missing the mark completely. I can’t put my finger on it but it just feels so inauthentic. Shout out to Red, though.
  4. Omg Lana! Beautiful as ever and forever style inspo
  5. She sounds incredible and her voice is so crisp and clear. That makes me excited for how she’ll sound on the songs recorded in 2023/2024 for Lasso since it’s been almost a year and a half since the very last vocals for Ocean Blvd were recorded (September 2022 with Margaret). My only gripe is how Lana sings for like, half of the song - and the other half is that fade in/fade out. BUT I get that this likely fits into the scenes of the show so it’s just a cute little musical interlude. So I can’t complain - but I’m always going to want more Lana on any song
  6. It wouldn’t be a country album by Lana Del Rey without some atmospheric, slow, weeping steel guitar. And I imagine there would be a bit of a bluesy / outlaw vibe overall. That’s something to get excited about!
  7. Also predicting an explicit lyrical reference to the Jungle Room
  8. - Rogers, Arkansas - Muscle Shoals (Alabama in general) - Nashville - Brandon, Mississippi - West Virginia She seemed excited to be in these places last year
  9. She’s been channeling her 2017 self lately. Lust for Life truly lives on…
  10. September 20 sounds like a perfect day to release a country album
  11. Lana practising her shooting game at the range with Taran and friends has the same energy as her learning to surf as she was making NFR. The activities coincide with the record she’s working on and I think that’s wonderful for getting immersed in the world you want to create…🤞❤️
  12. It’s interesting that “Gucci On My Body” is surfacing as a title because she posted her 2017 Elle Magazine cover on Instagram with that exact caption — “Gucci on my body”. I guess it would have been an outtake at that point, since it was in May 2017, but interesting that she teased it, nonetheless.
  13. You inspired me 🐎 (Haven’t made a cover during the pre-release in about 3 years!)
  14. I get the same vibe from the title “Lasso” as I get from Joni Mitchell’s “Blue”. A really simple word that evokes so much. I can see “lasso” being referenced to as a literal object, but representing something deeper. Kind of like how Lana wrote about blue banisters.
  15. Just saw Joni Mitchell’s little photo dump of the Grammys, which included pictures of her with SZA and other singers. I wonder why she and Lana didn’t get a chance to meet up! What a missed opportunity
  16. Poetry runs in the family
  17. The whole “legacy artist” thing just registered with me…and it kind of seemed like a Freudian slip. Not really a fan of that because it’s revealing, but at least it was somewhat attempted to be saved. A few days later, I honestly feel pretty mixed about the whole situation now that some things about Taylor have come to light — but it doesn’t really matter what I think lol so
  18. Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd 💐
  19. I’m not going to act like I ever know what she’s thinking but I feel intuitively that she knows she’s above it all. It still stings on some level, I’m sure - because when you’re good at what you do, of course you deserve critical respect and recognition. That’s probably why the relationship she has to critics has been a focal point of her career. The Grammys is an extension of that. It would be nice to be celebrated, but again, she’s won in the way that she doesn’t feel pressured to make stupid music for the sake of winning an award. I don’t want to bring down other artists (I will drag Boygenius though), but obviously the album that won was not in any particular way meaningful the way Ocean Blvd was. Why taint your legacy just to make a record like that.
  20. You guys, that Azealia screenshot is old lol. It’s the lanadelrey handle and that was Azealia’s old username / profile pic. It’s from January 2018, I think.
  21. Perfectly said - there’s a freedom in being in her position and that’s the real feat. To be able to do whatever you want with your work!
  22. Quality lost and overexposure won but it’s still nice that Taylor acknowledged Lana. Certainly she believes what she said about Lana to be true but Lana deserved to have gone up that stage on her own merit for her own record - not someone else’s subpar collection of songs.
