The thing that makes me think it’s for Lasso is that the video is very obviously set in the country and the guitars feel like Lana more than the beats feel like Quavo. And Lana is the one dropping her album, and a country one at that. Plus, it seems her people are more involved in it than his. But that also doesn’t mean the song couldn’t be on both of their albums, but I don’t think Quavo has any public plans to release one, so…🤞

Interesting since they are both linked to Jack Donoghue and Ethel has been vocal about the comparisons early critics made between Lana and herself. I love to see that though, Ethel’s sound and southern gothic brand would dovetail really nicely with Lana’s.

Omg a video. I hope she serves Coachella motorcycle intro if Wally’s involved. I also don’t think it will be too long of a wait since one thing she’s always said about her rapper friends is how quickly they put stuff out compared to her - and a video is a good sign of that. I definitely think it will come out before or right around her birthday.

I think it’ll be fun for Lasso to have some more traditional country songs and then a few speedboosts like this song, if it is indeed on the album as the ATRL outsider said it might be. Ocean Blvd is largely defined by lyrical ballads and yet the last three tracks don’t feel out of place - so I could see this being worked into it for sure. The guitars certainly sound like some of the more rustic, “Americana” production elements of her 2011-2015 discography.

The Lust for Life framework of meshing hip-hop and folk/country truly encapsulates her range of musicality…only she could drop a trap collab while teasing a country album and have it feel so authentic. Her ability to effortlessly shift between genres is unmatched
