summertime's her worst cover. the production great, the part at the beginning with the backup singers is amazing, but her vocals on it don't fit the song at all. it's uncomfortable to listen to.

I loved the Bubblebath EP around the time it came out, then lost interest around poppy.computer cause her character was getting kinda worn out & the whole titanic sinclair mess but I've recently been getting into I Disagree n whew this album slaps. I was avoiding it for a while cause songs like X, Scary Mask and even Concrete felt very gimmick-y to me but I Disagree is actually really good and doesn't feel gimmick-y at all to me except for concrete but i like it way better in the context of the album. The last song I genuinely liked of hers was Immature Couture. 'Am I a Girl?' had some cute songs but most of it still gave me the "this is part of the poppy character" vibes n it got kinda corny at times. I Disagree is the first thing I heard from her since Bubblebath where it actually feels like genuine music made by an artist and not music to go along with an art project if that makes sense. Also the cover of I Disagree (more) is a whole serve n the main reason I decided to get into the album.

the glory vinyl packaging is so gorgeous her team is so sick for picking that music video screenshot as the cover in 2016 when they had all this material

If XCX World never got scrapped she would’ve probs been forced to put more radio friendly songs on there like Boys, n we wouldn’t have Pop 2. I mentioned this before but XCX World leaking and getting scrapped was a blessing in disguise. She wouldn’t have the impact and cult-ish fanbase she has now, and she def wouldn’t have been allowed to drop an album like HIFN, especially not right after she dropped her previous album (which she wouldn’t even be allowed to drop either). A lot of “””hyperpop””” artists also wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing right now. A lot of fans wouldn’t be where they’re at right now, since her music def brought people together and even fully changed lives cause, yknow, butterfly effect. She would be seen as a flop trying to get a hit, her career would be over. Yes she’d still have some of her loyal fans but it wouldn’t be the same. XCX World getting scrapped is probs the best thing that could’ve happend to her career.

So far I'm loving what I'm hearing sonically from all the snippets this era but lyrically it rlly could go either way. Either I'll hate it and think it's corny or love it and think it's direct and jarring in a good way
