  1. I actually feel quite guilty after I read this interview. If she doesn't like the fame, why does she release new music and why does she play so many concerts all over the world ? I'm going to see her performing live for the second time in one week and how can I be able to ban the thought that she doesn't feel comfortable with what she's doing while I'm having one of the best times of my life ??
  2. don't you think that she said this in a very sarcastic or even angry way ?? shit... let's face it... she definitely read Lanalysis
  3. not going to listen to it though... not because of Lana but for my own excitement. MPG is only one click away from me but I'm resisting omg that increases my craving for UV so damn much right now... I'm so weird having the 4 (promo) singles on repeat is enough for me at the moment. I'm there for the entire album slay after I have bought it (44 hours left)
  4. well nobody knows who she addresses in that song maybe she tells a story she simply made up ?
  5. I respect every single opinion about the word "whore" but c'mon I'm pretty sure everyone of us has cursed somebody in a rude way before. Lana didn't commit a crime.
  6. wow we have completely different opinions about that. I adore Lana but I think her lyrics aren't that innovative sometimes. when it comes to Taylor every single line is perfect and she doesn't use the same phrases or expressions that often. whatever, everybody has to decide for himself what he likes more... Rihanna also co-writes her music. however, what I wanted to say with the "co-writing" thing is that artists who co-write their songs, only change a few lines most of the time and that's not what I call a songwriter if you understand what I mean
  7. I wasn't talking about legacy but about song writing in my last post. I think artists who write their own songs sound more unique and they will never stop to compose new music, whereas artists who have a lot of co-writers could become boring at some point in their career. of course I'm not saying that song-writing is the key to a long and successful career but at least it's a factor.
  8. she is. have you ever listened to her music ? tbh most of those nominees don't even write their own songs or are only "co-writers"
  9. I opened the site where you can listen to the snippets and I stared at it for 5 minutes.... Listen or not listen, listen or not listen, listen or not listen, listen or NOT LISTEN ! I know that it would simply kill the excitement. Today I can resist but there are still 6 more days... I'm so afraid of myself... I'm going to pray for my discipline tonight BUT if this site leaks the entire thing .... they'll have to beg for their lives
  10. wow wow wow ! definitely her best lyrics so far in this era and the melody is absolutely stunning !!! when Barrie starts to sing in the backgound it's just and the way he shades himself in such a sexy way... they really adore each other ! --> result: Barrie & Lana should write more songs together ! Brooklyn Baby changed my excitement for UV from huge to an indescribable amount of longing for it mixed with endless pain because I know I have to wait 6 more days... I need all these songs in my life now, RIGHT NOW
  11. I think UV is definitely about Jimmy ! Call me crazy but here is my Lanalysis: "deadly nightshade", "loving you is really hard": it wasn't a simple, happy relationship with an ordinary guy. K & Jimmy are the only guys who would've called her like that imo "filled with poison": Lana used to drink a lot of alcohol at this time, so it must be about one of her early realtionships (again K or Jimmy), and we also assumed that they met in rehab "Jim taught me", "your my cult leader" : we've said before that Jimmy inspired her to be a better musician, she used to "stalk" him, so maybe he was like a teacher or idol to her "he hit me and it felt like a kiss", "he hit me but it felt like true love": I don't think this is meant literally, maybe it's more like he wasn't that interested in her in the beginning but she didn't understand his behaviour and was just happy to see him "Jim brought me back", "Jim raised me up": he was her cure in rehab "reminded me when we were kids": the we could be about K & her, we've already figured out that Jimmy probably reminded her of K because both of them had a drug addiction and were "bad boys" "I can hear sirens": again an allusion to K, maybe she left Jimmy because she knew that she couldn't take it to see another boyfriend going to prison as well --> so maybe it was "ultraviolent" for her to leave him ? "I could've died right there": well yes, she had a "bad disease" at that time if you get what I mean "he was right beside me": again rehab ? "we could go back to New York": OMG, they were in rehab together and then they were planning to go back to NY for music perhaps "where they don't know who we are": they are both famous now "I love you forever": she let him come on tour with her
  12. I adore the beginning of UV, it's just her angelic voice with simple piano chords but soo fucking beautiful. I'm not really into the part where she starts singing about Jim, the chorus and also the bridge because her voice is mixed with her own voices and it sounds unclear and not well done to me. she could've done the talking part so much more seductive imo. Seriously, the live version is definitely better. but still Shades Of Cool & West Coast >>>>>>>>> Ultraviolence (not a good single choice tbh)
  13. I'm glad that she doesn't use the left-out footage of the West Coast video like some of you assumed ! I hope she has an epic idea popping up in her mind because a song called Ultraviolence deserves to get an iconic music video.
  14. can somebody post the Vevo version on soundcloud ? In Germany it isn't available because of fucking GEMA (like most of the time)
  15. yesss ! we'll get an interview that isn't filmed on an iPhone camera and probably a hq performance
  16. Super-private (go check out Lanalysis XLSemanal ~bitch )
  17. yeah I knew that someone would say something like that and I can absolutely understand your opinion but... well I don't know how to explain it ... Taylor's 24 now and of course she graduated a long time ago but it still sounds pretty natural to me hearing such lines from her. maybe because she still seems really young and it just doesn't sound wrong out of her mouth, it's more like she's reminiscing about the past, telling her story and everybody in the audience can relate to that. when 60-year old Gaga sings "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick" or old Bey sings "driver roll up the partition please, I don't need ya seein Yoncé on her knees" it doesn't have to be but at least it could be awkward
  18. tbh why is nobody talking about Taylor ? imo she is going to be the artist we'll still get new music from in 30 years and I'm not saying this because I'm a stan, no I'm saying this because I really do believe it. I think you can create some categorizes: Lana Del Rey, Florence, Azealia and probably even Lorde and Gwen Stefani: they don't crave the fame, it's more about the music (we're lucky if they release new stuff at all --> Gwen, Azealia, Lana (?)) Adele: she will be praised for her voice but she won't be a legend Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Pink, Shakira, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Nicki Minaj: established artists that will never stop making music, they have a solid fanbase but there won't be a thousand documentations about them when they are old or dead, some of them are too boring and will be forgotten sooner or later Rihanna, Lady Gaga: you never know if it's still show or pure craziness yet Beyoncé: I actually think she will be a legend but there will come a day when she will turn into a better-looking Adele because she can't dance like that on stage anymore when she's 60 (she herself even said something like that once) and then there's TAYLOR SWIFT.... 1. she has a massive fanbase 2. she is still absolutely down to earth 3. imo she is definitely the best songwriter out of all the nominees 4. when she's old she still will be able to fill stadiums by just singing and playing guitar 5. her music is timeless and it won't be awkward for her to sing it at an old age 6. she is able to write the most genius songs without any help 7. she has the looks 8. she is constantly releasing new stuff all 2 years 9. people really can relate to her songs
  19. Don't want to listen to a stupid snippet of Brooklyn Baby and that's why I turned the volume down when it came on First of all I'm glad that she got a promo video at all ! Oh and shame on me but I like those 2 minutes better than the entire West Coast video Why did they cut out all the cute and exciting scenes ????
  20. Not going to listen to this... it kills the excitement
  21. Wow ! The verses of Shades Of Cool really remind me of her unreleased "Gangster" songs and the chorus is just too beautiful to handle... can't wait to see her dancing to that guitar solo live
  22. buy them on eventim.de, it isn't sold out yet ! the venue is only a few kilometers away from airport Berlin-Tegel!!
