Oh I know what the phrase Old Money means, I just don't quite understand in terms of this song, why its called Old Money, because I don't get the comparison to this song in relation to the phrase of Old Money. Maybe she see's the relationship like old money, like she got her fortune fast but lost it or something. That's a good theory, I like that.

Do any of Lana's songs do well at all? Like I've always seen her more of an album seller anyway and she does promotes what ever she wants. I'd love to see videos for Old Money and Brooklyn Baby, and I think they're too of the most radio friendly songs as well.

Just like to ask does anyone know the reference of the song being called Old Money?, as she doesn't say those words during the song.

Actually about her face, people think she might have got her nose done and lip fillers, what about her cheeks? maybe fillers too in her cheeks?

When You Wish Upon A Star & Beauty & The Beast I would love these two to be covered by Lana, she would sing them beautifully.

I'm a firm believer that if you look good neck up i.e hair/makeup etc your clothes will look great. Lana always looks polished in terms of her hair and makeup and this is a good example of that, she looks great even in a racing jacket.

Looks a bit alike her, but I get more copying her to be honest, which for me isn't really the equivalent, like I mean someone who's just similar to her but does their own thing. I'd expect someone more masculine as well as I see Lana as feminine so for my the male equivalent would be masculine. Nice siggy by the way haha.

Ok so I'm sure this has been discussed to death already but I thought I'd make a topic about it as I think Lana is just beautiful, like I'm not even saying that as a fan but I really do. I've asked this question on other forums and lets just say other people haven't had the same opinion as me which i found quite strange because I just presumed it was a general thought that Lana was gorgeous. So basically the discussion is to discuss how she comes about making her look, like can you describe it, how would you explain it etc, like I'm talking everything, hair, clothes, makeup, body, style, etc. Basically I want to sort of rip her apart like the media did when she first came out but I'm actually applauding her rather than saying she is fake. Also what you enjoy about her looks as well. Also who would you describe in terms of looks the male equivalent of Lana. I've always said James Dean but I'm sure there must be someone who is alive who could be called that. I'm talking looks mainly, so either style wise, but mainly hair and face. I'm also talking the BTD era when she was looking extremely Hollywood glamorous, not so much now where her look is kinda chilled out and relaxed. I really want Old Money to have a video, I don't care if its a single, although I do want her to sing it live at concerts so it would be great if it became a single. I'm sure I heard someone speaking about her singles as well saying they don't do very well, like on charts etc, but she manages to sell a shit load of albums anyway and sell out shows. So I think maybe she actually has the upper hand where she can pick even less friendly radio songs to release because she isn't really a 'singles' type seller.

I agree with everything you said. The same when feminists start calling her as well for writing songs about for being submissive somewhat to men, its annoying because shes not saying that women should be in the kitchen waiting on men, shes just writing a love song and she would anything for her love. I'm happy though she doesn't listen to anyone or even think of anyone (fans, critics, media etc) when she is writing music because it wouldn't be the same. Her lyrics are interesting, if you take away her vocals the lyrics and stories are very interesting to read, why change that just because its not 'nice' and 'warm' like other pop music. Its actually refreshing and interesting to hear someone sing about in-depth topics and sing about sadness etc. I do wish though as well like you touched on, she would recognize the people that love her and support her for her music and the lyrics she writes. She wouldn't be having a number one album if people didn't enjoy her and her music, so I wouldn't be too upset with certain opinions if I where her.

Yes Lana, I like this interview, shes really starting to just say it as it is to journalists now. I love the question where he says about her responsibility as a star and she says she gets it but won't change!

What does she mean exactly when she says: I think the thing I really got from Ginsberg was that you can tell a story through kind of painting pictures with words. And when I found out that you could have a profession doing that, it was thrilling to me. It just became my passion immediately, playing with words and poetry. When she says you can have a profession doing that? Does she mean herself as a song writer/singer or does she mean an actual career for that specfically?

Wow I love the video, its expensive looking but it still has the laid back vibe of the album, its also really helped me to understand the song a lot more too. Plus the pool scene, damn she looks good.

I'm still not sure which album I like more, this or Born To Die. I think Born To Die is produced better - for me personally to enjoy listening to the songs. Then again this has some truly beautiful songs - Black Beauty and Old Money
