I really disagree, I don't think it's just about telling a story, it feels quite insulting for instumental musicians as Miles Davis (when we started to talk about concept album).
It's too easy to cut all subtleties of sounding process that really can define an album as 'concept album'.

It's not a new flavour at all.
I will add this :
It's a concept album when all tracks are linked by an idea, a story or a theme.
All tracks from the record must be coherent (It can be sounding aesthetics, process or theme).
So, most of the Björk's albums and Cry Baby can be good exemples.
Another big concept album I know is Brian Eno's "Music For a White Cube".

I can't express how much this song moves me! I've only listened to it three times because it's like it takes a ~toll~ on me lol. But it's so anthemic and stirring to me! I feel like this album is going to ruin me.

People think it's hip hop?? Seriously?? I can't put my finger on exactly what genre to call it but the best I could say is like "Surf-pop" or some arbitrary Lana title like "Surf Glamour Sadpop Sandcore"

I made two versions of the lyrics cover like she did for Honeymoon, and I also made an alternate cover using the other promo image, I embossed the text, did some stuff to her eyes and lips and added some clouds

This is awful and petty of me, but seeing fans who expected Lana to continue releasing slow, sad songs forever get mad and accuse her of trying to get commercial success makes me a tiny bit happy. It's Lana taking over us, throwing us a curve ball. She's reminding us she does what she wants.
I was so right in talking about the BTD demos because feel-wise this fits. But it's not rehashed either, because I can't think of a song in her catalog that sounds like this. The lyrics aren't impressive, but neither were Honeymoon's and at least these have bite to them.
Can every person saying it's about Barrie back that up though? Like why him and not some other ex, or an imaginary ex?
