Couldn't everyone who posts they're favourite artists maybe post where to start with them or their best songs? That would be real cool.

When I started getting into Lana I started noticing her name showing up more in other places. I've started seeing her name show up in Hip Hop and Rap forums. So is anyone here into Hip Hop and Rap as much as they are into Lana? I think it would be cool to start a conversation about it and see how it relates to Lana.

Sorry if this has already been posted but I couldn't find anything

After reading your entire post, i was about to say you had a very stronger argument LOL. Almost convinced me for a second. Thats is, until that troll face appeared lol. But who knows, Bey probably was inspired by her lol. You're probably right. Good analysis. And i really like the Beyonce album

i think yonce is one of the best lol (plus the video)

I'm amazed. She broke a record. #1 in 112 countries. In ALL the existing iTunes.
XO and Drunk In Love are released tomorrow in VEVO and as singles on tuesday.
  13. urbannoize liked a post in a topic by whitman in Beyoncé
I'm not even a Beyoncé fan but the album is really amazing. The album has it all: pontential hits ( Drunk in Love, XO and Blow), some really good collabs and songs with hyped producers and songwriters.

Also you know it's genuine. People have always questioned Beyoncés artistry, criticising her song writing credits, etc. but she did a video anthology for B'Day, songs for almost all tracks. Then With Sasha Fierce she released a lot of videos too.

The whole production on this album is so sleek. Ghost is like one of my favourite songs ever.

I think everyone needs to calm down. This was not meant to win an academy award or change the world based on its flawless script and plot-line.

This was supposed to be visually captivating, and let us see what Lana saw when she was writing Born To Die and Paradise.

@@Ultraviolence's analysis on TROPICO was pretty much accurate and spot on. Couldn't have said it better. & As far as my view on it, i can see and understand how she decided to use some of her favorite icons John Wayne, Elvis, Jesus, and Marlin Monroe as kind of like the God like inspiration that influence and effect her life. & Tying that into the biblical themes she grew up with, with her being raised catholic at some point. Like she really incorporated parts of her life and beliefs into this symbolic piece of art. While still communicating the themes of lost innocence, love, and redemption. & I feel like Anthony Mandler did a good job with her vision. Although, as someone pointed out, i could only imagine what Woodkid wouldve been able to do.

    I see it like this:

The Garden of Eden = Paradise = L.A. (the way she expected it to be)

Lana said that The Garden of Eden turned into the Garden of Evil, which is the Land of Gods and Monsters, which is L.A.
Remember the line in "Radio" where she sings: "Now I'm in LA and it's Paradise"
I think the Garden of Eden represents the way Lana imagined it Hollywood/LA to be with Marilyn, Elvis, etc. all being part of it.
She looses her innocent and childish view of it as soon as she's confronted with the truth, she basically took a bite of the truth. Her eyes were opened.
  18. urbannoize liked a post in a topic by whitman in TROPICO ANALYSIS
Tropico it's just like what she said: it's an surrealistic project, you just need a little imagination to fully enjoy it. I really liked how they used the songs as dialogues to make the story move forward and it really works mostly of the time, but on the other hand I think the poems were kinda unecessary  sometimes- because they summarize all what the  images represent and since this is supposedly cinema it's completely redudant. It doesn't really bothers me since the themes she works through the movie are not that easy to represent visually, just like she said it was the best she could do.

Definitely gonna rewatch it when I have the time to, but rn I really agree with what @@TrailerParkDarling said. She shouldn't have worked with Mandler; maybe Woodkid would've been a better choice. BJ and BTD were iconic videos in my opinion and perhaps Woodkid could've made the video more subtle? Like in Tropico the symbolism and the general storyline was v obvious. If it was Woodkid-directed then maybe there would've been more space to interpret what the video meant. But then of course Lana did say she worked really well with Mandler so ~idk~

The Bel Air scene couldnt have been more perfect. From the shots in the field, to the great and wonderful lightening. Theres just something about it that elevates the record. Plus Lana looked amazing. She mind as well have been an angel. & The Garden of Eden scene as well was great. From the colors and shots, to how John Wayne, Marliyn Monroe, and Jesus was captured. There was this very dope approach taken with them that i havent seen before. & The way everything just plays out was perfect too. & You get so caught up in the music and her dancing, that you forget that she's about to do something forbidden by eating the fruit.

Everyone's reaction to Lana eating the apple was brilliant. Body Electric was so intense and Bel Air was incredible.

I hope they release a new version of Body Electric in this EP.

About the song, I think it might be just a intrumental song or the filme itself.... but who knows maybe Lana is good to us all and decided to release a new song.

And I am the only one who thinks that Bradley would be perfect for the role? Not just because he has the "gangster look" more than Shaun but it would give the story that started in Born To Die/Blue Jeans a properly end.
