Dammit... For a second I thought I was in the Marina and the Diamonds thread and you meant the version she did of her song "Lies" with a new bridge.
 
I love CHVRCHES though haha... Idk what the different version of lies is.

I'd rather hear a new song as the lead single and then just hear a studio version of mess when the album comes out then I really don't get the hype of it though. It's ok.
 
The way I see it, if the lead single is mess then I can delete the live version and just have this better version but already know the song pretty well and not really get much new out of it. If its a new song, I will still have the live version of mess if I ever want to listen to it, plus a brand new song that is hopefully better than Mess!
 
Besides, the lead single is supposed to be one of the best songs on the album and get attention. If mess were one of the best options she had for a lead single with all the new music she has made lately, I'd be a bit less hyped about the album I think...

Yeah not really a fan of the "lyrics" she posted... As long as she crafts them together well and the song has a good meoldy maybe it'll work. Even I Love It's lyrics aren't THAT basic though. I actually think "you're from the 70's but I'm a 90's bitch" is kind of clever.

Because the lyric "You'r so dumb, get a job" is terrible.

But rly, I'm super excited to get songs like I Love It from Charli!!!! I want some awesome dance songs with that punk "I dont give a shit" vibe! 
 
My only hope however is that this isn't her way of "selling out"... It's interesting that suddenly she's making an album so soon with singles that sound like I Love It after it got so successful... I hope the entire album isn't dumbed down from True Romance so she can cash in even more on the success writing I Love It got her. When she gave I Love it to Icona Pop she said it was because she couldn't envision a music video for it and it wasn't right for her... Why suddenly is a song written at the same time that is very similar right for her though? Why didn't she put it on her first record? 
 
I'm sort of playing devil's advocate a bit though and raising some questions. I don't necessarily think that this is the case. I think songs like I Love It didn't fit True Romance, but she kept some of them for a later album. This album she may just genuinely want to use songs like that. As long as the music is quality and not a complete 180 from True Romance in an attempt to get mainstream success I'll be thrilled I'm sure.

I will choose Mess even though that's sacrificing a fictional opportunity for a rare studio (like, will we ever hear Gravity? I'm not optimistic).
 
And I predict a single announcement based on the timeline she proposed with her Paramore tour! Shiiiit if it happens right around Sky's single all will be well.

They are totally friends. Sky got in trouble once after Katy put a picture of Sky online when she was 17 holding vodka.  They might not be as close anymore, but all the tweets were def in jest

It's Not Me, It's You is a AMAZING ALBUM One of the best pop albums in the past 20 years. Hands down.  It's intelligent, silly and poignant all in one. Her lyrics are so relatable and she's tongue-in-cheek enough to not taker herself too seriously but just serious enough for it to all mean something. I can't wait for this album and can't wait to see what she brings to the table tbh

But it's actually not even funny anymore. She is the most unreliable artist ever. I drove an hour to see her last year and she cancelled the show 3 hours before without my knowledge. And then she cancels her whole European tour and now this... I would drop her ass so fast if I didn't love her music so much. I really want to believe she cares about her fans, but when she does shit like this over and over it seems like all she cares about are money and success...
 
I would try to make a point by not going to the new date, but this is the 3rd time I've gotten tickets to see her and I still haven't actually seen her yet (except with marina). I REALLY want to see her. I can't go if she makes it a Thursday now though...
 
She better meet EVERY fan and give them a decent amount of her time.

We still haven't even listened to the studio version of what's supposed to be the first single...  We've known about this song for about one year now...  Sky...  SKY...

My show has now been postponed twice!! I am still hopeful to see her eventually, but 3rd time's the charm, right? So she'll probably postpone it at least one more time.  

It's a phone interview so she would get profiled and have an article in the paper to drum up promo, but I'd still meet her at the show
