AFFA is so Paradise. I dont think it would sound right as an indie/alt/rock track.

Slow jazz rock Black Beauty on the other hand.

... My god. This is my explanation.
In the article (french) : "... Ultraviolence est logiquement plus électrique, live et brut que le registre dans lequel la jeune femme s'était illustrée auparavant. L'ensemble est aussi moins rythmé par les beats hip-hop que les radios et les chaînes musicales américaines aiment tant. Il y en a encore sur Money, Power and Glory tandis que West Coast, le premier extrait, illustre bien le virage"

    >>>  Ultraviolence is logically [because of Dan] more electric, live and naked (raw ?) than the previous register (...) There are less hip-hop beats, even if that's exactly what's american radio's and channel's like. Money, Power and Glory still have some. But West Coast is a very good example of what we have to expect from the new album.

Hip hop beats from BTD return on the album with songs like Money Power and Glory.

Hip hop beats are only on one song, Money Power and Glory.

Hip hop beats are not on the album at all, the song Money Power and Glory is an example of this.

So basically, people translating this article are as useful as Lana releasing a date for Ultraviolence.

    National Anthem? Live or Die?

Guys let's not go too far. I'm sure it'll still be dark. Especially considering she now has some perspective on the song topic, which she lacked in National Anthem (hence the heightened glamourrrrrr)

Like @@Rafael said: She's more "opulence is the end" nowadays than "buy me lotsa diamonds"

The song description sounds like something very different from West Coast which is nice, now we know the songs didn't get the same production treatment.

Yeah it basically sounds like a mix of Knockin' On Heaven's Door and Wicked Game... for now, but it's a 15 second snippet so let's not over-analyze it.

I wish they were called 'Down in the West Coast' and 'It's a Cruel World' ...lol more lizzy-esque titles

    what a voice

Also Blue Jeans is very similar to Wicked Game, very similar chord progression (I think it's the same but in a different key), same change of vocal registers between the chorus and the verses, they both have videos in black and white but Chris's is set in a beach while Lana's it's in a pool. She clearly is inspired by him which is a good thing because his music is so good.

It's called 'Wicked Game' NOT 'Wicked Games'.
