I do think she’ll ever redo any era, but to get back to more upbeat / boppish songs would be, what I call, going « back to BTD ».

Lolll i can’t wait to see if she really switched companies. If so, no way her new home will let her drag on with the album and they sure will push the new project forward (plus she has Jack bangers in the bag, possibly new songs that could be done with Mike… I mean, we could be talking BTD level here)

I read his « soon » as « in the first quarter of the year », if plans don’t change. To be fair, his « soons » are always sooner than Lana’s lol.

To be fair, he said he had no idea when the album was coming. As I said before, he seems to be tied to the music industry. My guess is that he attended some sort of meeting when they discuss plans for the next year for many artists, and with Lana, what was said was probably that there is an album coming, here’s the first single (or maybe just a snippet), coming in the first quarter of the year, and that she also has a collab coming before that. If we look back at all the infos he gave us during the BB era, it all sounds like some music insider infos collected from various meetings / updates on coming projects.

LDR9 seems to be a more « planned era » already than the last two, something resembling more like LFL (which was her last well-planned album). The lyrics he teased are probably from the lead single, which probably won’t be scrapped. 🤞🏻 Nan juts that it sounds GOOD…

Love this interpretation. I’ll add some of my insights to it. LFL: it’s the quest for happiness, wanting to be something more, to leave your old patterns behind… but they follow you around. NFR: perhaps the first step towards happiness is being fresh out of fucks forever and acknowledging who you are, whether it’s pretty or not. COCC: it’s essentially a réflexion on her career, mixed with the « Oklahoma love affair » (aka Sean) BB: it’s coming to terms with your past traumas and dramas in order to move on, healing from it with your chosen family. so… LDR9 could maybe be going back to lighter tones, to simpler pleasures?!?

By the looks of it, LDR9 seems to be the cumulative of an album within an album within an album: She started recording covers, then ended up writing new original songs (which many ended up on BB) and she considered RCS/LYTAN at some point, but tossed some of those aside for her « revenge » songs…

He tweeted the lyrics to a new LDR song. Although the lyrics do have the line « sweet like Rock Candy », he said it wasn’t RCS or LYTAN, it’s a a new song. He says it’s good and that it’s coming not sure, he just doesn’t know when yet. the rest is speculation. If she is still writing and recording for this album (which is more than likely), imagine how good it is already if she said to a fan it was already better than BB…

Since LFL, it’s almost tradition, to tease a song title or even a snippet and not release it right away. It sure builds up some expectations but is also frustrating AF. At least, we got TJF - WHF and Cinnamon Girl (imagine the riots if she had kept that one under wraps).

It seems that BoZ has some official ties to the music industry. He was invited for the press streaming party of Adele’s 30; during BB, he knew about that change of directions, names and possible covers… I think he got the chance to hear the first official single from LDR9, which is likely to be DNC.

So the line Sweet like Rock Candy could be from DNC, maybe?!?

White Dress, Chemtrails, TJF, Dark but Just a Game, Yosemite: they all are magnum to me. NATWAL is also very good. It’s the others that lack a bit something IMO. now I want RCS so bad…

I think he liked BB in the end (he sure did buy a CD recently). We know he loves Fine China (so do we), but we got If You Lié Down With Me and so many other demos she got to finish that ended up being wonderful… Chemtrails might have its flaw, but I’m always shocked when someone can’t see how there are perfect songs on it. if it has some NFR twist to it, RCS will be incredible

Oh and another thought: maybe LDR9 is an album made of three « EPs »: some covers, some country songs and some « bangers » to « ease up » the Country part and make this album still « accessible »?!? 🤔

Two thoughts on this Monday morning: 1- could DNC mean Desert and Country? The waves being associated with the country part of the land… 2- Loved You Then and Now having a more « bombastic sound » is not that much of a reach, if you consider it was track 8 on the early COCC tracklist. When that song got removed, she tentatively put Dealer in its place to « shake things up » on the album, which makes me think that LYTAN was the first choice to have the « second part » of this album and that it has a different sound from both Norman and Chemtrails.

Nothing is ever set in stone with her, but I do believe we’ll get at least one album from her in 2022. Maybe not LDR9, but the cover album. Let’s not forget how prolific she is when there is no touring to stop her from recording.
