  1. Not yet since last week. I might be wrong, but I believe that LFL (the song) was released without any fanfare either ( I remember a post on Insta the evening before) and it was released after a radio interview as well. Maybe this is what is happening here. We'll see tomorrow. edit: SNIPPET ON INSTA
  2. MAC is a stellar song... but that video is so boring. Can't believe that this setting (an electrical fence??!?!) is the only place in California where butterflies are flying by. Even her walking on a beach would have been better than that. Makes me say that it might be better after all not to have had the Cherry video, if she wanted something in that vein....
  3. Rumour has it that VB has a music video directed by Chuck and Charlie, thus explaining the photos she posted on her Insta today.
  4. Usually, when things are confirmed on a press release, which is the case for MAC and Venice Bitch, things tend to follow according to plan. We’ll bet set on Tuesday. If it is the case, maybe a snippet will be posted tomorrow? Agree. And MAC also has these « end of summer » vibes that are perfect for this time of year. Could be the other reason she chose to release it. Not so sure that the whole album will feel that « beachy ». Venice Bitch will probably have those surfy vibes as well.
  5. about the whole happiness thing... Happiness, especially when you are 30 and up, does'nt mean that somebody is not sad anymore or is always a happy clown. Hell, we all have shit happening to us, shit that we can't control most of the time. Happiness has more to do with being in peace with you are, with the good, the bad and the ugly of your past. You try to be a better person, but you accept your flaws as well. You also get that some of your past behaviors were toxic, and you try to get away from those as much as possible, and you own your life choices. Through your mistakes, your learned who you are, and you try to embrace that, and cultivate your uniqueness. I believe Lana is in that space of mind as well. When she said that she was entering her blue period, I thought that she was entering a new chapter of her life, one where happy times and quiet times exist: she knows what she's good at, she knows who she can be with without compromising herself, she knows who she is. And she is always a bit melancholic. Not sad, but she likes to question her life and what is around her. MAC is a good example of that. There is a certain sadness to it for sure, but also a great burst of desire and love and dedication to that man. But she won't go to the extremes she went before, as to "deny herself" or let a guy walk all over her (like her previous early songs). Maybe this is the real change in her music. But I don't expect her to sing empty lyrics like "I am so happy, so so happy, I smile and all". Happiness is a butterffly means, to me, that happy times can fly away fast, but can come back if you let them. (sorry for the essay: I am so damn passionate about her lol)
  6. Especially if nothing leaks. Those never were a plus. Hope she doesn’t tease song titles that won’t end up on the record, this time around.
  7. Beautiful song... but a meh vidéo. I get the minimalist approach, but to shoot that one besides electrical fences ?!?? Is that the only spot for butterflies in California?!?! I’m glad we didn’t get the Cherry video after all, since she wanted to do it herself with Chuck (for the record, I am not a Chuck hater, I love her pictures for the records and her previous work, but that setting is so wrong)
  8. Maybe Yosemite, from what we know of it, would fit the atmosphere. But RBFY, as much as I love what we heard, I am not so sure. And Sylvia, we have no tangible proof of this one, don’t we, except for the fans reporting it. Fader did, based on a press release statement.
  9. I put MAC just after Get Free on my playlist and even though they are similar because of the sea theme, something is missing between the two. Maybe a brief intro to the record, like RBFY was meant to open LFL? An opening of beach waves, her voice coming from the distance repeating "Into the blue" a couple of times, fading into a melody made of psych guitar or piano... MAC's intro would then be perfect. I really see that track being number 2 on the record. But hey, we still have Venice Bitch to hear: maybe we'll want that track as number 1 or 2 on the album. I don't see Venice Bitch as the name of the record. So far, of all the rumored tracks, the only that would make a statement would be... Happiness is a Butterfly. There's a very good chance that the title track hasn't been mentioned yet.
  10. I expect the next weeks to be a bit more quiet... We will have by then two singles... And she's been real quiet between the end of the tour and last week. If her absence made her compose songs like MAC, I really don't mind the absence lol. And at the end of the year, another single drop, maybe? With the infos of the album (date, cover, release). See, that's the thing with Lana: I never saw her as a sad girl. A girl that loves to feel in very intense ways, either the good or the bad. She is just honest. Her sadder songs feel like a photograph in time of what she was feeling at the moment (a sadder moment of her life). She is one of the few that express all that she is feeling. Ahd she is realistic too: happiness is fragile, and we all have our demons to face from time to time.
  11. The snippet of HIaB is back on her Insta. I doubt it will be scrapped.
  12. ldrupdates, on Insta, noticed that Lana captioned Venice Bitch in February (when she posted the painting someone did of her on the brick building)
  13. LFL was way too ambitious. The acoustic part of it kinda got tossed away and this is now a part of MAC. As much as people hate LFL, it was a necessary album. I loved HM. Still is my fave from her, but to transition directly from HM into the sounds of MAC (even if I love them), it would have been a «too easy transition» between the two. We needed LFL's big production, all in major tones, in order to return to calmer seas (lol).
  14. about Sylvia... I've been thinking lately about that song, that she mentioned it to fans at one or two of her shows... but has anyone recorded her mentioning Sylvia?
  15. at the Grammys. Don't remember though if we knew already that Jack was involved.
  16. I must say that what amazes me most, is that pretty much what we wanted is in that song: the folksy acoustic guitar, the psychedelia of UV, the surf touch, the HM sweetness to it, the pre-fame vocals and title... A great song indeed. Can't wait to hear Venice Bitch. Maybe it was not released today in order not to have it shadow MAC? And I am not so surprised by the 2019 release: many artists tend to have long pre-release periods these days (Years and Years had their lead single out in March and the album came out in July, to name just one).
  17. Doesn't sound like her. To write down that she made «so many good decisions in a row»?!?! She is proud of her work, for sure, but that sounds too much pretentious to be her.
  18. I read all of your thoughts and suggestions about what we want the second song to be... and I must say that I'd be perfectly happy if any of those was indeed the second single
  19. Coachella was rumored to be released as a stand-alone single, because of the political climate at the time. Apparently, it was not supposed to be on the LFL track listing (someone emailed someone at Universal... You see why I don't count this as fact), but ended up there when she decided to write more songs. edit: thanks to @Lanaism, now I have my facts straight!
  20. and before anyone jumps to conclusions about Lana's last picture on Insta being a clue for the second song, remember that we are 9/11, guys
