lollll If you read the next posts of this thread, it appears that she will be Radio 1's hottest record tomorrow afternoon (Pacific Time). Like I said: singles are released any day of the week but albums on Friday. and it's everyone in the music industry, not just a Lana thing. I know Lana has her own mind and doesn't always stick to plan (and that's understated, i know), but when it comes to singles and album releases, she always stuck to the dates she gave. By Friday both tracks had to be released., tomorrow is even better.

Singles are released pretty much any day of the weeks. The albums come out on Friday.

That does make sense actually. With HM, she truly secured her reputation, being respected (most of the time) by the music industry, seeing her as a force to be reckoned with. Maybe this is her « revenge ».

Someone on FB (can't remeber who though :\) had an interesting theory about Lana's discography, forming a cycle of some sort. BTD \ Paradise is the introduction; UV is her descent to hell ; HM is her rebirth and LFL is the state before crossing the threshold, before change happens. Maybe this is why so many of us love HM: though still sad, we hear some hope in those melodies. The line from HBTB embodies that perfectly.

Nothing is definite, but since we have confirmation of MAC being produced by Jack and there was a selfie of the three together this year... I don't think Lana put that if it didn't mean something with Marina (at the very least, a writing collab). Not so sure of these two voices together, but all of her other collabs were well harmonized. And I sure hope it stays that way. There is a good chance by now that it will (nobody had any clue about the new song's title or its release date before she announced it). Wasn't it great, last Friday, to learn that two new tracks were heading our way without knowing about them? Lana and her team were very prudent this time around, and it paid off.

HM was the third uppercut in her discography. BTD was a revelation; Paradise cemented and expanded her universe; UV was so different (and such a clever move; you can't duplicate a masterpiece, the only sane way to still surprise everyone is to go in a complete opposite direction) and raw; HM was almost UV's opposite (so ethereal and airy and luminescent and soooo timeless). She knocked me out of my shoes with that one. This album features some of her best vocals and some of her most poignant heartaches (The Blackest Day is one of my top 5 for sure). It is my favorite from her. Just bravo.

Wait, people here want collabs?!?! Now I'm confused!!! It seems I've been hearing a lot of trash and shitting on ALL of her recent collabs, from LFL to the ones she did for other artists as well. I love everyone of the songs she has been featured on, even if her voice is minimal. Love the LFL collabs as well. But I must say that I am not so sure she should do as many this time around... There is the Marina one (a very safe bet at this point), whether it is coming on a Lana album or EP (anyone else feels it could be the second single we get this week?) or on Marina's album... Other than that, I don't know. Some of you mention Mazy, and it would be very nice I think. But maybe for another project?

amen!!! I feel exactly the same. I am bit older too then many fans here, and as much as I loved her past records, I don't see her go back to the Lolita sounds and themes that were in her pre-BTD sounds. I related to each and everyone of her projects. UV came out when I go out of a terrible relationship and that dark vibe connected with me on so many levels. HM was a dream come true: a beautiful timeless old-Hollywood lush orchestrated masterpiece. LFL really captured the sort of chaos you feel just before you enter a new chapter of your life and take a new direction, leaving something behind. Can't wait to hear the direction of LDR6. My guess is that it will be about -at least in part - making peace with yourself, to grow and try to be happy.

Not so sure about that. When it leaked, her management twitted that she was upset and all, wouldn't be surprised if Lana dropped the track or, if she finished it, it was safely guarded somewhere (songs from LFL didn't really leak from any fan after that, if I am correct).

BAR deserved to be finished even though it leaked. It is one of her strongest demos. The atmosphere of that song is just so magical.

It was also at the time they were friends (doesn’t seem to be an « active » friendship right now). It consisted of real and imaginary conversations between the two. The cover showed a lot of polaroids they took together, in the summer after UV came out. I guess the « imaginary » part of their conversations would not have been separated from the real ones, thus having us question every part of the book (it’s only speculation though) Franco published later a poetry book called Straight James / Gay James and one of the poems is called « Lana Del Rey ». With MAC and the second single perhaps?

The second single will feel « end of summer » like she said. And the last time we had two singles, they were « sister tracks » like she called them. Singles are released pretty much any day of the week (the albums get out on Friday); with the snippet already out, maybe MAC will be released on Tuesday or Wednesday? MAC seems to be about that infamous interview... She teased her notion of happiness on HIaB... Her famous SNL performance is (was?) on her VEVO channel... Anyone feels like the new album will be about « facing her demons », the subjects she avoided for years?

Who knows? If she hasn’t, she simply crossed-referenced Yosemite, like the dripping peaches that are in a couple of songs of LFL and the red party dress.

I think the other single she will release will probably be the sister track to Mariners Appartment Complex, and it will have a sorta of summer vibe to it (but everybody guessed that I think) Can’t wait to see if these are stand-alone or part of an album. But with Jack involved, an EP would be the minimum i think?!?

I am not saying the everything on Reginsider is true. not at all, actually, and with Lana, it's always tricky: is the account really that well connected or is it just bullshit? if it happens, it looks like it was legit info; if it doesn't, anyone can say that Lana changed her mind... But the singles released at the end of summer gives it more credibility. ​But we'll see. ​Just so fucking glad for the new song. Curious to see if it is a reworked Yosemite or something else. And the second single will have us wondering for hours / days.

Give her time ​Common practice, nowadays. The lead single plays for a couple of weeks, then the album announcement... H Folk allows to show her incredible warm voice... Love those vibes. Perfect for her.

From what she said in interviews, it was supposed to be « desert », « the sister song to BAR ». The chorus, though simple, seems very cute and gentle, especially if the acoustic guitar plays along.
