  1. Well, the UV demos prove one thing: the songs on that record, even from the start, were incredibly strong ones. Sad Girl and FMWUTTT aren't really that different (more laid-back and that's it). Only MPG is a bit different, more «oriental». But yeah, we are starved. When she drops something, we will all lose our minds. The show on Friday will be somewhat of an «event» in a very dry couple of weeks.
  2. Nobody knows for sure. BAR and Yosemite both had their chance when the record was supposed to end on a more peaceful note. The leak certainly did not help, but who knows what would have happened in her life?
  3. Lana's a stotyteller and her fanbase has grown with each record. She is doing extremely well on streaming (at the beginning of the year, she was iTunes'7th most popular female artist worldwide on their streaming / sales platform), but I agree that she rarely is on commercial radio. She has her own universe, which is not always in the same vein as other artists. She is so talented and rooted in so many music genres that she could still be around for very long time, unlike many of the pop princesses and queens that are on top of the charts but could very much not be around in 5 or 10 years. Female singers have, too often, music based on pretty much one ingredient: sex. Lana is more rooted in sexiness and sensuality rather than sex. No wonder that most female singers rarely are successful when they are over 30 or 40: they look like a joke, when they are still playing the oversexed lolitas when they should be singing about something else lol.
  4. I haven't checked their other posts, but anyways, with Lana, even if Ben or Ed confirmed any release dates or song titles, it could all still change: She signed with Interscope / Polydor that gives her pretty much all the creative freedom she needs. And our girl loves to write and make music. She gets into the the studio but we never know when she finishes the project. So maybe there really are music releases planned for her this summer, but who the fuck knows what is her timeline and if that project is still as initially planned. Nobody wants another LFL-promo-Gate I think, where everything was a bit messy, so I guess this is why she is keeping quiet and not saying anything at the moment.
  5. Well, we are the definition of rabid lol. L FL is not even a year-old and we crave new music as if our lives depended on it. The minute Lana is silent on social medias for more than a week, we are worried and @ her with all kinds of posts asking where she is and drop the f*cking album already. When LDR6 comes out, I am sure some will complain over the fact that the 25-unreleased-song collection was not released or whatever. We are rabid and drama queens.
  6. She looks kinda concentrated or maybe tired a bit. She must be working restlessly. Proof that has been a very quiet month: someone takes a picture of her leaving a restaurant and we are all excited
  7. I am not that surprised that we are not getting a soundtrack for the Elvis documentary, since it is produced by a small company... Besides, we didn't get an official release of Some Things Last a Long Time either... I AM ONLY SPECULATING HERE... But how much time did Lana take for Tropico? Maybe she is doing something in that vein... We really have no idea what she has on her mind and what she is preparing for us. I can't wait to see what it is, but we must let her come through I guess.
  8. Summer Wind could be a nice cover, if she did something a bit darker and melancholic, like Old Money (or something between the beginning of 13 Beaches and Once Upon A Dream)
  9. I'd be surprised if she did. These big festivals are tightly planned (an artist takes stage right after the other and so on). If an artist can't make it, it is unlikely that she/he will be replaced at the last minute. The festival would be mad AF is she cancelled for osbcure reasons and would most likely not be welcome there anymore. And isn't she one of the big headliners of those two festivals (that one and the one in August)? Artists that don't want to be there tend to give a meh performance instead of cancelling their show.
  10. yes. They were recorded in the same month that she recorded Big Eyes and I Can Fly, along with these three, Shades of Cool and Is This Happiness.
  11. oh yeah, you're right! I remember her deleting snippets in June last year, and we were all worried some of those would not end up on LFL (like White Mustang and Summer Bummer)
  12. she is preparing the new record and she knows her fans: once she releases a new single, we will be harassing her for a new music video to go with it, and then a second single, a second music vid, the track listing... I prefer silence over tidbits of informations. HM had, to me, the best promo: snippets of the title track in June, the track in July, HBTB in August, followed by the track listing and official date release. and two other promotional singles just before the release. Everything was neatly released with no fanfare and really quickly. LFL dragged on and on, with its promo. especially if the Elvis song is featured in the documentary.
  13. apparently, this is something she does before each new era. I hadn't noticed this until someone here mentioned it.
  14. If it is real, then that info has been obtained illegally; if it is a joke, then it is not a good one to Lana's managers. either way, the account could be deleted.
  15. Thanks! If that is a real single, then we can say goodbye to the « happiness album » haha!
  16. What is SJD? Is this another of those rumoured releases? Like on Lana’s birthday or on July 5 or whatever other date announced by « insiders » lately?
  17. I wouldn't mind a song about gay rights or lgbtq lifestyle or its angst. But if she ever ventures in that territory, I hope it will be made in a more general manner, like she did on her "political songs" on LFL (they are mostly songs about peace rather than political songs, in my opinion, which I prefer). I am never sure if songs targeted at the LGBTQ community made by famous singers are really felt and honest rather than serving an agenda, or just wanting to have the attention of that fanbase. That has always kinda bothered me, to not know is these songs are honest. Something like "Beautiful" by Christina is perfect and get be applied to so many people feeling ugly and persecuted rather than just one group in particular.
  18. That's also my main concern about LDR6. I liked the messy feeling of LFL, but I sure hope that the beginning of the new record answers the questions raised on LFL, especially on Get Free (what is the "into the blue" phase of her life?). I hope LDR6 kinda completes LFL, is the yin to LFL's yang, on some level. Not that I want a complete album on inner peace and shit, but maybe some hints towards that? prediction acccount?
  19. Lol!!! Knowing how Lana loves to punctuate her songs with colors, I can't imagine a song filled with THOSE colors
  20. I always saw Lana's disography as a whole, a story unfolding with each era of her life. BTD is her youth album: being young, feeling intense emotions, falling in love with dangerous guys, losing friends, being a bit bored, reflecting on her entourage, wanting something more. Paradise is the first step towards adulthood: moving to the West Coast, driven by that firey desire to be free, to drive away from your old life, getting to the "promised land" and discovering its sins... UV is the big love story that unfolded on the West Coast, where she burned her wings with love, wanting to concentrate on work after that lost passion story. HM is the old-fashioned Californian reflection of the aftermath of that love story, when things are kind of blurry. In that period, she also wanted to fall in love again, but it kinda fell through. LFL is the quest for happiness, her stamina pushing her to take actions in order to be happy. That energy has led her to meet someone that disappointed her, pushing her to question what she wanted in a man. In that time of her adulthood, she came to realize the world was larger than her story and that led her to reflect on it, and on her past. And now, she wants to change, cross the threshold, to move out of the black and into the blue. So, what comes next after that? Does she finally find the expected feeling of fulfilment and inner peace she hoped to be in at the end of LFL? Does she realize that happiness is fragile? Is it her blue period? Is she happy? Would that make a good record, to have someone sing about being happy? (I doubt she will go in that direction though) Travel is often something you make room for when you are in that zone... You feel more open to the world, to culture, to others. You also come with terms with yourself, accepting your inner demons and your strengths... That's how I feel at the moment. is Lana in that zone, that I don't know. Her present silence could be because she wants to find back her inner voice, but I don't know. I am curious for things to come, of course. But the girl has every right to be tired, after a world tour lol.
  21. That's what I also suspect, with these so-called insiders... And with Lana, it's even easier if your facts don't check out: we know she is very good at changing ideas and it's the excuse that "insider" could always pull off if it didn't turn out to happen. Some of his posts on LFL are vague or hard to confirm or simply what we kinda guessed here (like the BAR / Architecture song). We'll see. If his song titles add up and end up on the record, it could be interesting for the future...
  22. AMEN!!!! Praise you, sister! It seems to be "confirmed" by reginsider on Twitter. Although he only said that music would be out from her "later this year", a fall album could very much happen. And let's not forget that it has not been a full year yet since LFL and that she finished a world tour in April: the girl has the right to be tired lol. Plus : Lana has one major flaw: she is very bad at evaluating the time needed for a project lol. She really might have thought that LDR6 would be out this summer, but things didn't work out that fast lol
  23. I agree. Maybe the lyrics will be somewhat happier, but not super "Mary Sunshine has taken her happy pills". HIaB embodies that: happiness is fragile. Yosemite, from what we know of it and if it ends up on the record (I doubt that more and more every day, but a gay can dream), is the kind of song you sing when you are falling in love with someone, not a song about inner peace and shit, and those intense feelings of passion are fadind fast. Lana has always had songs that were more "positive" on "sad" records (Religion, West Coast, even Brooklyn Baby, to name a few). I expect a couple of sadder songs on LDR6 as well (I mean, it's Lana we're talking about here; even happy, she seems melancholic, and nobody expected to have a Heroin-type of song on LFL), just not songs drenched in irony and despair like a couple we got on UV (she said herself that she had some "regrets", months after the release of UV, and that she would not go there anymore, but if she did, I'd be more than thrilled).
  24. Yeah that Amoeba thing got our hopes all up for nothing... The Yosemite / BAR single was an idea that got a big maybe after. And it's at that event that she first mentioned the collection of her 25 favorite leaked songs... But what got ignored was the comment she said afterwards: «yeah but I don't know, maybe it would be too much work» (or something in that vein).
  25. Depending on how things turn out, if Yosemite and BAR aren't officially released on LDR6, she could drop, in the near future, a short EP made of Yosemite, BAR, RBFY and one or two in the same vein.
