  1. I think you have all the major ones. Maybe a couple might come out tomorrow (there are probably some Sunday media releases).
  2. I truly am not part of the whole « let’s unstan her because of religion » squad at all, and she has every right to believe to in whatever she wants, and her albums are her own, but this interlude is her heaviest « religion statement » ever. Before that, religion was channeled, often twisted like in Tropico or Gods and Monsters, or could be more related to spirituality than religion. i understand what she went for with the interlude and it is unsettling (even PTSD for someone, like me, who was miserable in church for many years - borderline in conversion therapy). like you said, I’ll probably always skip it or might listen to it a couple of times. Maybe if it hasn’t been that long it would have helped (make it like 3 minutes and a half like the Jon Batiste one).
  3. Those three last tracks could also allow the album to « live longer », in the summertime. Especially if she films a double MV with Peppers and either TT or FT. They might be the most « surprising » tracks I never thought we’d get on this album. And they’re so refreshing like you said. Hell, you know an album has heavy stuff lyrically when a song like Let The Light In (which is borderline stalker-ish) sounds sexy and light
  4. Paris, Texas trending on Tik Tok is surprising and then again, I NEVER thought The Other Woman would be a « hit » for her and on Tik Tok of all places
  5. I always love to read POV from newer fans It helps put some things in perspective and bring some love to albums that could be overlooked. And it’s the magical thing about her: she charms new people with each era. I don’t mind minimalist production, but their main challenge is that if I don’t connect with the lyrics or the propos like some songs on BB (mainly the piano ballads about motherhood), then it’s tougher to have those songs grow on you. Unlike Ocean Blvd, where the production is rich and lush and grows on you. Even the Judas Smith Interlude, although my least favourite by far, has an incredible melody that could, maybe, grow on me at some point. Anyways, happy to read your thoughts
  6. I expected no less from someone who renamed their LB profile after one of the masterpieces of this album
  7. I think that people outside the US - myself included - often forget that country is one of the biggest genres in America. And their fans are faithful. Some of the Taylor fan base emerges from her country roots.
  8. Totally agree that there couldn’t be Ocean Blvd without Chemtrails and Blue Banisters. I love both of them, even though they are not my favourites (in 2021-22, I thought I prefered BB but I listened to both before ocean Blvd and COCC now has my preference). the « problem » with these two albums might have been that we had some preconceived ideas of what they’d sound like or hope they would: - for COCC: it was the follow-up to Norman and NFR lovers (including myself) wondered if she’d follow on some of the trippy prod of this album on COCC. Plus it was the damn pandemic and we all wanted some sort of escapism from that hell, a summer « vacation ». On a personal note, i wanted some old Hollywood vibes when she posted a clip from From Here to Eternity, which had nothing to do with the album; - for BB, we associated its former name (RCS) to some sort of summery, more pop/boppish sound, with revenge songs… Plus Mike Dean being on board gave us some impression it could be the case… Ocean Blvd sorta « filled » those « lacks » we had with the previous two albums. We sure will need, in a couple years, go back to them to appreciate them more as a fan base. The best way to enter a Lana album, I think, is to have no misconception and let it be its own thing. And not let Lana be the sole artist to carry what someone would like / love on an album.
  9. I don’t get why she censored mother when whore, fuck, and bitch aren’t i mean, I know motherhood has some sort of sacred (and often overrated ) status apparently, in the culture, but wtf?
  10. of course, everyone in entitled to their own wrong opinion, but this ranking…
  11. This song resonates with me a lot. i had two unbelievable misfortunes with my latest trips (they both got cancelled), so to hear her talk about Paris, Florence and Venice, not those dreamy wordly cities, but their more « down-to-Earth » equivalent, in a song about going home, I felt that.
  12. Agree 💯. Although I know I bring up a lot of Twitter facts about her streaming (mostly because I am amazed that someone I love so much is doing so well when my faves usually aren’t). Lana is playing the long-game and I think her label understands that. as for wanting her albums to be well-received, let’s just say that they are (even if Ocean didn’t receive a perfect 10 like many wanted- Lana might be too divisive for that), and thank God were not in the 2012-15 run of career anymore: let’s just say that not many of them « got » her back then.
  13. The singles truly were well chosen, each reflecting an aspect of this album: - the grieving process of losing someone who passed away; - being heartbroken after a breakup; - the IDGAF / sexiness / silliness
  14. To all of you who bash Drew Erickson, no slander towards him will be tolerated here The string arrangements are incredible. Sweet is one of the underdogs of this album for sure (which proves hot strong this album is, when a song like Sweet could be considered like a « mid » track), but it begs revisiting. It feels like a Disney-esque song or something from the 50s. Fingertips also. They are stunning. and well, mentioning this again, but the end of Let The Light in It’s one of my biggest surprises as well. It’s a song you’d play at your parents ‘s or grandparents’s anniversary. And, well, it’s a thousand times better than the collab she did for their album
  15. Jon Denton’s reaction is interesting. He says his standout track is… Kintsugi 🤯 and he feels like the last three tracks feel like bonus tracks. i don’t necessarily agree, but always enjoy other POV
  16. THIS! love the melody of the interlude, but I hate preachers and religion. Just did the same.
  17. This album is probably one of her most addictive. Maybe even more so than Norman. (By the way, to all of you who listened to leaks and tried to contain yourselves before release: you have all of my respect ✊ It’s impossible to just play one song) she is channeling all of her past albums, including Violet, which is probably why everyone has something they’ll love on it. the main innovation of Ocean Blvd is probably in the lyrics and unusual song structures: Kintsugi and Fingertips are more sung poems than traditional songs, Grandfather and Paris Texas had another musical piece as their backbones (which is brilliant: the focus could be on adding production, giving the track some grandeur and splendeur), the lyrics are raw-specified and on unusual topics (family members), some songs are « mashups » (A&W / Taco Truck X VB). On a personal note and for LB’s appreciation, this album kinda « redeemed » what we thought COCC and BB would be: we wanted some bops that are on ocean blvd, and there are some real revenge moments in there. Before COCC was ever released, she had posted a clip from From Here to Eternity, and I had made the wrong assumption that COCC would channel those Old Hollywood vibes. Ocean Blvd channels those HM orchestral strings so beautifully. it’s a serve, a masterpiece, a class of its own. It’s still too early to rank it on her discography, but it sure is top 3. I sure will read your thoughts, sweetie I just posted mine. Have a good day
  18. The visualizer for Candy Necklace She’s channeling Billie Holiday, Hollywood starlets and I am living!!!
  19. Had a thought last night… Venice Bitch from NFR: it’s like strolling on Venice Beach in the 60s VB from Ocean Blvd: it’s the feeling from strolling on Venice Beach today.
