  1. I think comparing Pink Champagne with Ocean Blvd is like comparing apples and oranges, tbh. Pink Champagne was Lana writing from a much younger perspective, clearly not 2022 Lana. Pink Champagne should have been on UV. I don’t see any other album, with their respective vibes, where it would have fitted. It was a misstep, to take that demo and to rework it to fit the peaceful vibes of COCC. However, Ocean Blvd is so incredible that even though we love some UV demos, I won’t forsake my beloved OB because of them
  2. Babe, I want to believe you, many of the hints you gave came through, in a way, but the lyrics you teased, plus Del Norte County and Coronado, are nowhere to be seen… So, forgive this skeptical lot, but we need to stick to facts. However, if those elements do appear in a near future, you sure will become a deity (plus there’s a vacant spot, with BoZ vanished )
  3. Just realized we’ll get Hollywood Bowl a couple of days before my birthday
  4. Gay media don’t get the Judas S I réélise either haha https://www.intomore.com/entertainment/music/lana-del-reys-new-album-is-a-controversial-fave-for-the-gays/?utm_source=queerty&utm_medium=directlink&utm_campaign=directlink&utm_content=Lana+Del+Rey’s+new+album+is+a+controversial+fave+for+the+gays I like the comparison to Elliot Smith though.
  5. This album is a masterpiece. Not totally sure if it’s my number 2 album from her or if it sits by Norman’s throne at number 1. Or if even it dethrones Norman. I still need a couple of weeks to know for sure. only flaws: - the Judas Interlude, that I’ve talked about in length and won’t bore anyone by repeating myself. But since I got the instrumental version without the preach, all is there to eerily tie the music to A&W and Candy Necklace; - Fingertips… the lyrics and orchestra are superb… but she might be lingering a bit too long on her « head voice » without any switch ups. Not that it’s ugly, it sure adds to the imperfect vibe of the song, but it might just be a bit too long? I never skip the song though, can’t believe we got this personal track from her and how Drew managed to bring that one to life; - not a deterrent but both A&W and Kintsugi’s singing parts sound like shit in a car, at the beginning, almost muffled. Lana sounds as if she is recording from a can.
  6. One thing I love about is the collabs is that, for once, she didn’t do the « gracious » ( and sometimes frustrating) thing of putting herself in the back vocal corner, even for some collabs for her previous albums. could some of the guests shine more? Yeah but their input doesn’t feel small to their songs.
  7. The instrumental of the Judas Smith interlude reminds me so much of Violet or Patent-Leather Do-Over. Enough days have passed for my top 5 (the songs I want to replay all the time but often don’t because I get excited for the rest of the album ) Ocean Blvd, Candy Necklace, Grandfather, Let The Light In, Fishtail Which proves how insanely good this album is , when a career highlight like A&W is not my fave, or when Fingertips or Kintsugi aren’t there. No songs are a skip (now that I got rid of the white man yelling )
  8. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqTtvg8Pl5E/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Is Neil hinting at something? That church fits the album and the rest of the visuals
  9. Here’s how I see it: - VB was part of NFR and on this album, the culture « died » with The Greatest. Which sorta mirrors the world we are living in. Before that, there was still hope and dreamy vibes to existence. - VB on Taco Truck feels like strolling on Venice Beach in 2023, in a non-dreamy, almost menacing world. the world has changed, we are now entering a new « stage », with more uncertainties.
  10. Jesse is releasing new music tomorrow. Let’s hope it’s part of a new album… could 2023 finally be the year we get to hear his collab with our girl?!? 👀
  11. Out Of the three last tracks, Fishtail has grown on me A LOT and is the one stuck in my head for hours
  12. I never thought of it that way, but it makes A LOT of sense. I thought the album was, well, darkness turning into light, winter to spring, but the tunnel metaphor connects all of those together. on my Instagram, a lot of people posted about Taco Truck X VB. It really is crazy how this album is addictive and growing on you. The second half of the album was stuck in my head Friday, but since yesterday, I listen more to tracks with orchestra. And Kintsugi and Fingertips now feel like « short » songs?!?!
  13. Candy Necklace and the Jon Batiste Interlude are incredible before dawn… The end of the night feeling amplifies the creepy « menace » of the song
  14. All of these do check out… but there’s still no Del Norte County nor Coronado
  15. Hollywood Bowl has Zach as the producer. The other is Jack, I think? Is there a day where Twitter isn’t mad about something?
  16. My fave since day one and black vinyls are the best for sound, in my experience.
  17. The MV will channel the Black Dahlia?!? and the visualizer makes even more sense (I think?) because wasn’t the Black Dahlia an aspiring actress, before she got murdered?
  18. Musically, the end of Taco Truck is my absolute favourite moment of the album… I’d take three additional minutes of that.
  19. Exactly! But I guess that « cancelling your vinyls » is more dramatic (needless to say that some of her fans really are intense drama queens )
