it's weird to me that "dark horse" is katy's most-viewed video, it's not even her best song or even that great of a song in general! it didn't age well to me either, i was listening to some of her old hits last night (i know she's a bit controversial right now lol) it's interesting to reflect back and listen to these songs again, i was such a big fan when i was little, out of all of her songs/hits, i think teenage dream is the best, it's a song that i could see myself listening to regularly and seriously lol, i feel like katy's aesthetic for teenage dream was something special and it's a shame she didn't further evolve that sweet, soft, cheeky, candy-like pop-sound organically because i feel like her prism hits were very corporate (besides birthday cake i like that one lol) also, chained to the rhythm was so awkward to listen to because it's just so overtly politically but also still very vague, like, what is she even trying to say, really? also, it's just weird coming from a ridiculously famous pop artist who didn't express any interests in politics before, it just seemed so, fake, i guess, not saying that katy wasn't allowed to delve into politics but it didn't seem like it came from the heart, it was very surface-level, and as i said before, corporate

i feel like i should be interested in some of taylor's music in theory but i don't think i'll ever bring myself to ever try to get into her music because i also just feel put off by it, and i know this is going to make me sound a certain way (not that i really care, though) but she's so mainstream and that also makes me feel even more disinterested

does anybody else remember that time where everybody started getting really angry in that thread and it was very active for a few days? i think it may have been earlier this year or last year

i remember a post i made on a thread with a quiz that was asking which lana del rey era you were, and i remember my result was the lizzy grant era, and i remember saying something like "this is cool because i'm actually really into the lizzy grant era right now" which probably marks the time i intially found myself a huge fan of that era, i need to find that post and share it here lol

how about we share some personal lore about ourselves here's mine: during early 2019, i had a lizzy grant fan account on instagram called "tropicanameth", it reached 250 followers before i gave up and deleted the account because i was shadow-banned also i remember trying to make a new account on lanaboards with that username because i thought i was too annoying here and wanted to start fresh, but i found a message from elle on this account saying that i wasn't allowed to have duplicate accounts and that's why they weren't allowing that "tropicanameth" account to be activated thankfully i got over the embarrassment and started browsing lanaboards again in late 2019 and i've been a consistent member of this community ever since! i still think tropicanameth is a great little username, but now, it's just a part of my past

i really love those background singers and i miss them! i want a whole album with them!

i just saw their about me section and it was short, sweet, but iconic i love their unhinged humor "i breastfeed random people everytime i get sad"

i also remember when we had a short-lived "furrygate" that he was very involved in and people starting posting embeds of these commercials for these canned drinks with anthropomorphic animals with curves and big boobs and it was very uncomfortable but also lanaboards at it's finest

another suggestion for further discussion/documentation, @MaskQueRaid's antics in the illuminati thread, where he started spreading this ballsy conspiracy theory that celebrities are all actually imitating one another, such as lizzo and taylor swift, or hillary clinton and donald trump it begins here i also believe the account @DorothysRubySlippers was them

btw i really love this thread and i hope we can continue to discuss the lore of lanaboards as well as document it, which i think @SoftwareUpgrade's blog will be perfect for!
