I'm working on a compilation of interviews she did during the Honeymoon era (there's not a lot) and I think I found the reason why... In one interview she was asked why she's stuck with Rick for so long and she explains that he's easy to work with. Even though they disagree at times, he eventually gives in to her vision on a song. He just ends up saying yes. Now, this confirms some of your guys' theories that Lana's biggest flaws in her music is because she surrounds herself with "yes men" and I have to agree. Yes, Rick is great at his job and has worked with her on some of our favorite songs, but since she didn't work with anyone else with a more experimental taste for more than a few songs on the more recent albums, I think that's why her studio vocals have been lackluster since Honeymoon (with the exception of GKIT). I know most of you weren't impressed with her LA to the Moon tour vocals, but during specific shows she had really good nights. I still think she needs to change her set list because even when I saw her live she got lazy during the BTD songs. Maybe she was trying to rest her voice during the show, but still, she should take into consideration what she's capable of and strive to do better. -

Best case scenario? Maybe Chuck is saving the best footage for a HIAB music video bc I was underwhelmed by the MAC/VB visuals. They felt more like a compilation of behind the scenes clips. -

Best Coast - I first saw them in 2013 when they opened for blink 182 and loved their sound. I fell in love with their first album. What made me start to dislike them was following the singer, Bethany on twitter. She would go on constant rants and I just got negative vibes from her. You can't say you don't care about the critics when you talk about them/talk shit back all the time, ya know? The worst was when she posted a pic of a "chola" kit a fan gave her. I just hate when fellow Latinxs/Hispanics give white people permission to make fun of us, because they're "cool" with us or whatever. Especially when they're racist themselves. It was just a stupid stereotypical box of what a Mexican woman in a gang would wear/eat/etc. Anyway, a girl and I tried to explain why that was offensive and maybe she should think twice on accepting that as a gift, and she went on her usual (subtweets and all that) "fuck the haters" rant again. I ended it with telling her I was disappointed and that I wasn't a fan anymore. She ended up deleting the pic, but I gave up on the band anyway. I still hate that Hayley Williams is still cool with her (as far as I know) because I still love Paramore. Halsey - Badlands gave me the impression that she had potential. She ruined it with the rants, bashing of other artists in that one interview, cringey situations, and stupid arguments she got into with people. I'm not into the musical direction she went into either. Nicki Minaj - I actually started getting interested more in her music with Pinkprint, but after the situation with her brother, her reactions to the people who criticize her, the shady experiences people say they had when working with her, I was out. When it comes to music, idk why she didn't continue the progress she was making on that album- like I'm talking about getting more personal in the lyrics and making better hits. She showed her lack of talent with that lackluster response after Shether happened. Cardi B - I was rooting for her because she was the underdog. I loved her personality until she got more famous. Now it's rants about the industry, all the damn time. I don't like how she treated that MUA like someone said before. I believe the MUA and Cardi lost all my respect for lying on that woman too, who is ALSO a mother. As far as the Nicki situation, I think they're both in the wrong and I'm waiting for a different female rapper to dominate the genre and not fall into their trap. Melanie Martinez - Loved the music/her concepts until the music videos got a little too... disturbing. Like Pacifier.... That's when I understood the sexuallizing children accusations she got from critics. Then the Timothy situation happened, and it reminded me too much of my own assault. Her response angered me so much... I was out tho before that point. She's dead to me. Poppy - If she disassociated herself from Titanic, instead of making that terrible response to Mars Argo and making money off of her image, I'd probably still be listening to her. It also pisses me off whenever I hear her and her team ripped off an independent artist. Sky Ferreira - bad meet and greet experience; it's been 5 years since the damn album.... the girl needs to be honest with herself and quit lying to her remaining fans bc singers in the same position as her have surpassed her. Even Grimes... and I don't like Grimes anymore either (Poppy, Elon Musk = she's a hypocritical fake woke activist at this point but I'll prob still listen to her album instead of Sky's). K, I'm done.

I love this concept! I wouldn't mind if she steps away from the car theme now. I'm actually hoping for it tbh -
This is from her performance in Chile Lollapalooza where they live streamed it. They also film the stage during her concerts, and when my fiancé and I went to the one in San Diego, we saw that they were good quality too (it's those screens on the side of the stage). I never understood then why she doesn't release a professionally shot concert if she has good footage lol that's more money for her. I don't think she'll use concert footage for a HIAB video, I think that snippet on IG was just a random thing.

I agree. I like seeing Sam Johnson's reactions because he keeps it professional, but he reacted to one of her early performances of Million Dollar Man and it wasn't a good one. I wanna fight whoever recommended that performance to him lol

You didn't do anything wrong lol You guys know there's a chance Lana might post about it too, right? Rob already posted about it I think. You were just reminding people, it's an important election to a lot of people anyway. Also, I still have a good feeling about a February album release. -
According to her, she's working really hard behind the scenes so can she be honest this time lmao
-
Why can't she be honest with herself and say she's going to take a hiatus from music bc that's what it's been for years?? Instead of dragging her last remaining fans along and getting mad when they're upset when she doesn't follow through with her own deadlines.

I share a birthday with Lana's Grandma? An icon??? I'm shook

She's glowing!!! Love the outfit -
I lowkey ship Jack and Lana The music video made me love the song even more. She served LOOKS.
-
Omg thank god I'm not the only one. Lol I think it's because Lana has a warm skin tone. Oh, and that reminds me, the really light platinum blonde she had during her Lizzy Grant days also had a harsh effect on her face, whereas the blonde she had back in 2016 looked much better on her and she looked more youthful because it was a warmer/brownish blonde. So it could be her skin tone for the reason why the auburn/warm brown looked best on her like you said. The 2016 blonde is under appreciated!

I wanna get this off my chest... the 2017 Complex Magazine photo shoot was not that great. And I think black wavy hair ages her/is not flattering on her.
-
She tweeted this a day after Shane Dawson tweeted at Titanic saying he'd be cool with making a series on Poppy. Which would be as terrible and biased as his series on Jake Paul. I hope it never happens. And wherever Mars is, I really hope she's doing okay. She's got a lot of people patiently waiting for her music bc she's so talented and a sweet human being. Wish that didn't happen, but I hope she knows a good number of us are on her side.

Just noticed that lol That's still one track, a highly praised one too. I still think it would've been nicer if he had more influence on the album. -

I just realized this... is there a reason Lana stopped working with Dan Heath? If she worked with the some of the same producers for BTD, why not Dan? And why scrap what she did with Justin Parker (Wild One) when BPBP stayed and their previous work is amazing too? Sorry if all these questions are late or have been asked already, but I joined late. Lol I'm just imagining how the album could've sounded now... like instead of the trap beats it could've had a more orchestral side to it like BTD/P for it to come full circle, but also acoustic to show her progress and bridge the transition to the direction she's headed (NFR). -
I like it. The beat and Marina's vocals are good, and I like the fusion of different languages in songs. BUT why did they have to go with Fonsi though? There are better Latinx singers and I hate the heavy autotune. The only reason I can come up with is bc of the success of Despacito... but still??? Meh... they wanted a well-known name on the track so it could chart high outside the U.K. I guess... still... at least it's not a part of her upcoming album and she's trying new things.

Never saw Closer so I thought it was a Lost In Translation reference too lol

Even though I got into LFL songs faster than some of Honeymoon's songs, I don't think it'll be praised more over time like Honeymoon... maybe the underrated tracks like GBA and WTWWAW will get more praise and there are tracks on the same level as Get Free and are fucking amazing, but the album as a whole? I rearranged that tracklist so many times, and yet there's still too much inconsistency on LFL. -
