where has umru ever been homophobic lol. he used to get asked a lot if he was gay and was always clear that he wasn’t but was very inspired by the lgbtq community and is an ally
 
i feel like the hate stems from people being jealous that he went from being a fan to getting to work with charli, who clearly doesn’t mind working with him as she continues to do so.
 
also his production is nothing like sophie’s besides metallic noises and he has literally talked before about trying to steer away from that because of people’s accusations

some people claim he uses Charli for attention and piggybacks her to promote his own music but I dont think that's true. I mean it's true that he gained a ton of publicity by working on Pop 2 but I dont think he's abused that at all. He barely ever talks about Charli unless he's playing a show with her or something which has happened a handful of times
 
If Charli didnt like him she wouldnt have to work with him, but she's continued to work with him so clearly she's ok with him
