Alice is the one for me, 911 is enjoyable (in all it's Starstruck 2.0 glory) and erm that's about it. Love Me Right shoulda been on the standard too.

Yeah... I completely agree! It feels like she tried to do the best of both worlds and it didn't merge how she intended. It's very clear she was all guys I'm going back to the dancefloor, trying to appeal to the GP (probably after the success of A Star Is Born - and rightfully so)... But then she slapped on this mismatch aesthetic for her fans to say I'm weird again, it's me, here's my giant claw, bleached brows, crazy outfits... When in reality this feels like her most mainstream and intentionally commercial release. Even the track lengths etc. It's all tailored to be a success and it has been thus far. The initial teasing of SOPHIE being involved really had me quite excited (as a Charli fan), plus I'm a casual Gaga fan but this doesn't feel authentic, like it's like she's trying to be what she thinks the GP want Lady Gaga to be in 2020. She should've either took the A Star Is Born success and ran with it and committed to the GP appeal (aesthetic too), or she should've been grateful for the success and then done a 180 and come back with something really left field. I agree with somebody (can't remember who), who said this is kinda her Lust For Life, a clear attempt to appeal to a mass audience again. And I think she nailed that aspect of it - just she missed the mark on what makes her unique. Nothing on hear screams Gaga! You have songs like Venus, Aura, ARTPOP, Scheibe, Judas, Alejandro etc. They're so Gaga. Nothing on this album stands out as like "damn, that's a Lady Gaga song". All in all, it's an enjoyable listen, I had no real desire to return to it after one listen though. I'm hoping that now she's proved she can still get the hits, she'll take some more risks with the next album and really remind us who Lady Gaga is and why she made the impact she once did.

I'm nervous to hear this, I'm by no means a fan, like I casually listen to The Fame, Joanne and some of the A Star Is Born stuff... Nothing else of hers ever really appealed to me. But like, this campaign felt like it was aimed at people like me? And I haven't liked Stupid Love or Rain On Me... Some of the reactions in here have me quite excited, is it really that bad? Disappointed that she teased working with SOPHIE and yet she doesn't seem to appear anywhere in the credits?! Being a Charli XCX fan the though of Lady Gaga and SOPHIE really had me engaged to her album campaign (for the first time) and then we got Stupid Love? Hmmm

-
Oh... I just assumed that was gonna be the Enemy vertical video / official video Are we expecting a deluxe package? Or just more videos?
-
What are we expecting to drop haha?
-
So I somehow bought the signed box set, all 4 cassettes, the blue vinyl and a signed CD

I don't think it was a Sucker outtake, but I'm pretty sure it was one of the first things she recorded after Sucker... I'm always so intrigued by her timeline, to think in 2015 she was performing both Mow That Lawn and Girls Night Out...
-
Thinking about if we did trade Charli for XCX World, how would the campaign look? Like let's say we just straight up switched what happened... What songs would you choose to be released? Original XCX3 campaign: After The Afterparty Bounce (live performance) Boys 5 In The Morning Focus / No Angel Girls Night Out Charli --------------------------------------------------- My XCX3 Campaign: Next Level Charli 2099 (live performance) Gone Cross You Out Silver Cross / I Don't Wanna Know February 2017 XCX World
-
I wouldn't trade, I listen to Charli much more than I do XCX World...

Yeah... Honeymoon the album, was always titled Honeymoon. She said she had an idea for a record called Music To Watch Boys To and described the visuals she had in mind for the music video. I believe Music To Watch Boys To was the lead single originally, then she wrote High By The Beach and they (her and her team) agreed it was more commercial and was better suited as the lead single. For this record, I wonder if there's a title track? I can't imagine what a song called Chemtrails Over The Country Club would sound like tbh - However, if she does have a title track, I'd like her to just drop it on YouTube or something like she did Honeymoon. Also, at this point, does she even need singles? Norman Fucking Rockwell was kinda dropped with only Doin Time being an official single? Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch had kind of had their moment and Fuck It I Love You and The Greatest were just buzz tracks? She did say she would surprise release this album - but I imagine her being an albums artist, she had to compromise with her team and announce a date so they can do pre-sales etc. Maybe they'll use the term surprise as in she won't drop any singles before hand? A bit like what Carly Rae Jepsen just did with Dedicated Side B? potential songs: 01. White Hot Forever (previous title track) 02. Let Me Love You Like A Woman (mentioned in Q Magazine in October 2019) 03. I Must Be Stupid For Being So Happy (performed live in 2018 when promoting Norman Fucking Rockwell) 04. Hey Blue Baby (performed live in 2018 when promoting Norman Fucking Rockwell) 05. Yosemite (a Lust For Life outtake that she said she would release in the future, The Next Best American Record had the same fate and was released as part of Norman Fucking Rockwell) 06. Chemtrails Over The Country Club (unconfirmed song, but unusual for Lana to not have a titular track)

After having this on repeat, I decided to take my favourites from the original record and side B to make my dream version of Dedicated. (I did the same with Emotion too). Here it is, if anybody else has done the same, I'd love to see what you came up with! 01. Party For One 02. Comeback 03. No Drug Like Me 04. Heartbeat 05. Summer Love 06. Fake Mona Lisa 07. This Is What They Say 08. Happy Not Knowing 09. The Sound 10. Everything He Needs 11. Too Much 12. Felt This Way 13. Stay Away 14. For Sure 15. Now I Don't Hate California After All

I don't really follow her tbh, just saw her post in an article about Lana Del Rey being controversial and though that what she had to say about the situation kinda made some sense...
-
She kinda said that "fragile" or "delicate" women have always been celebrated as the ideal woman, a woman who is passive and submissive. And that it's only of late that women have had a voice and been able to fight for equality and have the freedom to do so etc. And therefore to say she's a victim etc is kinda not true? You'd probably have to read her post... But basically women have always been seen as fragile and passive and it's the one's brave enough to stand up and fight that have been criticised.

Zara Larsson (although uninvited) kinda made some points huh? Also look at her metacritics score for Norman Fucking Rockwell, compared to her peers who she name checked in the post... She's getting the acclaim and the praise! Yes, not in the early years of her career but not all of these artists came into this industry being praised from day 1 or avoiding criticism. Lemonade - 92 Norman Fucking Rockwell - 87 thank u, next - 86 Invasion Of Privacy - 84 It Was Good Until It Wasn't - 77 Hot Pink - 73 Romance - 71 Queen - 70 And to say now they're getting #1 singles... Yes Ariana has been a force these last couple of years but like Beyonce hasn't had a #1 single since 2017 (and that was a duet with Ed Sheeran)... She's never made the sort of music that panders towards charts or chases trends.

So we were teased with the potential of 3 videos and a documentary sorta thing? Do we think Forever and Claws are included in the 3? Or is it likely we'll be getting 3 more visuals from the album... Also, what's the situation in LA in terms of government restrictions etc. Could Bradley and Pablo be involved with the music videos (from afar) or will they be like the others. Interested to see what the documentary thing will be too... Will it be her experience of quarantine or her creative process, a combination of the two? Either way I'm excited, I'd love a music video for Party 4 U. But I'd rather she hold out til she could do something more professional and give it the treatment it deserves. I also need this album on vinyl!

I swear, every time I'm just forgetting about that post (as I'm sure many others are), I get an insta notification and bam she's there with another "one last thing"... I understand she's upset and feels like she's been wrongly accused of being a racist. But this is the social media age and a time where we all have to be aware of our words and actions as well as maintaining a level of political correctness. It's unfortunate that her words have been misinterpreted by a mass audience but that's her responsibility, she wasn't misquoted or taken out of context. It was her post on her platform. At this point she should just move on and let it go. Or, release a statement (get it proof read Lana) apologising for the tone or misinterpretation of her last statement and clarifying what she wanted to say in a clear and concise manner. Don't be saying stuff like "but they called me a white bitch", accept your privilidge and be more clear in the future. Plus, I think it's in poor taste that every time she addresses this issue she somehow manages to announce a new poetry book, or album release date or album title. Don't let people think you're doing this as a form of hype or promotion either Lana. On a side note, after the controversial post and the whole racism scandal. I think it's probably for the best that she doesn't call the forthcoming album White Hot Forever.

has she changed her accent?
