Random, anybody know if there's an MP3 download available of her 2005 unreleased album... Goes by (A) Katy Perry?

I really love Norman, and it was a definite step up from Lust For Life and a much needed change, but honestly, I can't decide how I feel about her discography's production. Born To Die's production is flawless, but we know Lana had very little say and it was Emile who had the control. Ultraviolence is equally as impressive and again, it was mainly down to Dan but it was Lana that reached out to him and despite their differences it sounds like they worked together and put the music first. Honeymoon was peak Rick and Lana and is such a vanity project but she pulls it off... I honestly think Lana is the type of artist that needs to work with somebody new on each record, just so she doesn't get bored or comfortable. Or she needs to find somebody who challenges her, like Dan did.

Vocal surgery and temporary hiatus aside, this era from the EP to now has been incredible. Her visuals, the music (not you, Cattitude), the live performances, her overall aesthetic! Wow! Nothing Breaks Like A Heart really was the start actually...

I honestly just don't like Swish Swish haha! And wasn't she just featured on If We Ever Meet Again?

Honestly, a greatest hits album from her would be pretty amazing! I know they're not really a thing anymore but perhaps when she kicks off the Vegas residency (if that's still happening), she could launch one alongside the show. I mean, her singles run is kinda incredible... I Kissed A Girl Hot N Cold Thinking Of You Waking Up In Vegas California Gurls featuring Snoop Dogg Teenage Dream Firework E.T. featuring Kanye West Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) The One That Got Away Part Of Me Wide Awake Roar Unconditionally Dark Horse featuring Juicy J Birthday Chained To The Rhythm featuring Skip Marley Bon Appetit featuring Migos Never Really Over Harleys In Hawaii Daisies

After being extremely underwhelmed with my first listen, this album has grown on me as a paint by numbers Katy Perry album. It's an enjoyable listen and does the job of a pop album, but (controversial opinion alert) it has made me appreciate Witness a bit more. Witness was more of a risk and sounds like growth, it's sad that the backlash of that era has made her almost retreat in terms of her artistry... Obviously, this album is safe and was a clear attempt to win back the GP and remind them of her Teenage Dream / PRISM success. It just looks like it hasn't worked in terms of charts and numbers... And I don't know where she goes from here? I imagine it'll be a while until the next record but I hope she either goes down the acoustic, stripped back route, as teased. Or she tries to explore a new sound and push herself a little more. Likelihood is a greatest hits package and the vegas residency? Either way, I'm glad she seems in a good place and is still releasing music and still seemingly enjoying being a popstar. She has a well deserved break ahead of her and time to grow as a human and become a mother and I'm sure she'll thrive, doing so.

It does kinda feel a bit all over the place and thrown together? Like it's not not cohesive but it still kinda feels like a bunch of leftovers from her last 3 album sessions plus 1 or 2 new singles. I really miss her personality... Like, Ur So Gay (controversial now yeah), Circle The Drain, Dressin Up, One Of The Boys... I dunno the first 2 albums were bursting with personality and had some edge to them. This feels like PRISM but blander? It's very Katy Perry by numbers and I get it was the safe thing to do and probably what her label wanted too after the Witness era. But I dunno, she may as well thrown on a black wig for that album cover cos nothing here is new or exciting for me, personally. I'm honestly more excited for her next project (God knows when) but she seems to want to go more acoustic and stripped back and if we got more Thinking Of You's and Daisies, I wouldn't be mad.

I understand that releasing this record the same week they were promoting Teenage Dream's 10th anniversary, might have seemed like a good idea... Kinda like, "oh remember how much you loved Katy Perry, remember all her hits, well check out her new album!". But in reality, having people visit Teenage Dream and Smile in the same week just shows that one body of work is superior to the other and that 10 years later she hasn't really developed much as an artist. Anyways, it's a fun, inoffensive pop record! I was hoping for something more in the vein of Daisies and Never Really Over, sonically. But hey ho. Katy seems happy and proud of the project.

I appreciate the effort and what not, but yeah it seemed a lot of hype for us to just end up with a live album. I do appreciate them not milking money from the fans and releasing 5 year anniversary editions of the album on vinyl (like The Weeknd and Carly Rae Jepsen)... However, I would've loved for something commemorative, a book? Maybe like Charli XCX's how i'm feeling now book, with outtakes, behind the scenes stuff, stories from that era, early lyrics etc. Plus I would've liked maybe YOU.TH. (demo), Drive (demo), Garden (demo) and Colors (stripped) uploaded to streaming as some sort of bonus EP.
-
Let's hope she officially drops Love Is Religion some point during this campaign, not just the remixed version. I'm worried it will be a And Then We Kiss situation though.
-
I wouldn't mind an anniversary edition of BADLANDS, maybe with unreleased cuts? I'd love the final version of Garden for example. But I'm hoping she's not gonna do some sort of BADLANDS 2.0 as her next project.
-
I honestly wouldn't be mad if Charli never worked with SOPHIE again, Vroom Vroom will always remain one of her most iconic songs... But the XCX World material really has aged terribly! I wouldn't mind another Roll With Me styled song, but the Aqua-inspired pop, hmmm, yeah... it's best left unreleased.

A deluxe version of Miss Anthropocene, or even a side project attached to the main album would be a really good move for her tbh. The original album was well received and if the songs are sitting there, she might as well do something with them. It's not like she's gonna be rushing to put out another album and promote etc after just becoming a mother. Still kinda bitter that we didn't get Art Angels: Act II though... I know it was creative differences with her label etc and clearly she wasn't passionate about the project but every time I watch the California music video and I see it in the opening, I'm triggered haha.
-
Yes! Gimme that Nightmare / Experiment On Me side project! Ugh, honestly that sound suits her so so well! I'd be kinda bummed if we got Badlands 2.0.

So, I am currently obsessed with the new Miley Cyrus single, Midnight Sky. And I was thinking back to their live performance of We Can't Stop last year. Would people want a Charli XCX + Miley Cyrus collab? Also, what would it sound like? Right now, we're in peak autotune-Charli era. Whilst Miley has taken on a rock persona, Charli has dabbled with punk and would probably be capable. But I'm curious as to whether people would want something more like We Can't Stop or something like Midnight Sky?
-
We were really robbed with them abandoned 2018 album sessions, huh? 2018 Charli alongside Number 1 Angel Charli, just hits differently tbh.
-
I think we'll potentially get the deluxe version of how i'm feeling now alongside the documentary... maybe the SOPHIE EP in December? But I don't expect the next album til 2021 atm. I don't think her or her team expected this project to be such a critical success!
-
Honestly, if there was a deluxe edition or the album includes like 16 tracks, I wouldn't mind Unholy and Party Up The Street making the final cut.
-
I am obsessed with Midnight Sky, honestly the potential singles run her album could have! Mother's Daughter, Slide Away and Midnight Sky are all career highlights. She spoke to Zane Lowe and claimed that an album wasn't planned! However, she also retweeted a tweet from Mark Ronson today, congratulating her on the release and teasing that Bad Karma is coming soon? So, who knows what the plan is... She could easily pull a Katy Perry and announce the album soon, including last years singles. But, it seems there isn't gonna be an album this year, unless Midnight Sky is a hit. I also wouldn't be mad if she dropped Bad Karma officially sometime in the near future.

Isn't that the joke though? Like I'm pretty sure they had replies turned off

I don't see the issue with the Kanye reference tbh... Like she name drops Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Springsteen, James Dean... I know they're nostalgic and fit her aesthetic but like in years and years to come Kanye will be nostalgic etc. Am I making sense, like rather than pining for history, she's referencing things that will effectively become part of her own history which I found refreshing
-
Yeah... I think Victoria / Victoria's Secret is the same song. There's only a snippet leaked cos it was featured in a scrapped commercial Miley shot with Ellen Von Unwerth. The full song hasn't leaked though and might be on the album
