Honestly, I was unsure how I felt about this release... However, I genuinely believe that this has Britney's consent (if not her idea). She confirmed she supported the Glory reissue earlier in the year, as a thank you to fans we were given a new album cover and Mood Ring on all platforms. I imagine this was something that had to be discussed with RCA and realistically (other than the vinyl) neither of these reissues are gonna create a revenue for her or her team. Obviously it has come to light that Britney has no desire to perform or work as a popstar until things in her personal life have changed... Although, Britney is clearly a creative, whether she's dancing, singing, painting, cooking etc. And I imagine doing this sorta project allows her to still be creative, and communicating with her fans whilst not really benefiting the people around her (i.e. her Dad and co.). She thanked Matthew Koma for his work on Swimming In The Stars directly via Instagram, which makes me think she's obviously aware of the song being released. Plus this being a 2015 song makes me think it was a personal choice by Britney. Backstreet Boys confirmed Matches was recorded in 2017, so I imagine there's more post-Glory stuff that her team would've used if they were in control. I imagine it was also down to her input, that we got the original photos from David; he made it very clear that he loved Britney and only pulled out of the visuals due to a disagreement with her team in 2016 - therefore I can't see him wanting them using his images or even him posting / promoting them if it weren't at Britney's own request? All in all though, I'm pleased they tried to rectify the missteps of the Glory era and we got some new music / visuals this year. I added Swimming In The Stars and created my own version of the album... Adding some of the deluxe tracks and Swimming... makes this feel more complete and more of a Britney project in my opinion. 01. Invitation 02. Make Me... 03. Private Show 04. Man On The Moon 05. If I'm Dancing 06. Do You Wanna Come Over? 07. Slumber Party 08. Love Me Down 09. Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes) 10. Swimming In The Stars 11. Clumsy 12. What You Need

honestly though, i prefer the 24hr album to the Charli album... In My Arms should've been released also, Lucky and Need Ur Luv deserve to be Christmas classics
-
it's still available in the UK...

"Thank you, Jack. I've loved making these last couple of records with you and I can't wait for people to hear all of your beautiful new melodies soon. I wanted to perform something from the upcoming record, which is coming at the top of next year, but the band haven't had chance to rehearse any of the new material just yet, so I'm going to sing Blue Jeans for you all."

"American Standards & Classics" Cover Album - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
bored replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
It's not like this project is a surprise or anything and clearly this isn't gonna impact the charts like her studio albums, so I'm surprised at the silence from her and her team! They could've really made this more of an event... Revealing the artwork and tracklist, if this is happening, I'm interested to see what songs she's covering! They could've done a Christmas countdown even, dropping a new song from the record each week til Christmas day (if that's the supposed release date). They don't all need music videos etc. I dunno, I just don't have a good feeling about this, it'll be a pleasant surprise if it does come honestly. And if not, guess I'll just wait for Chemtrails next year. -
Honestly, I kinda wish she'd kept the "new" artwork and had given us a proper deluxe version of the record, we knows there's leftovers from this record plus new songs she recently registered. I think that coulda been a cool reminder to people that this album came out this year (crazy, huh?). 01. So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth 02. Darkseid 03. Delete Forever 04. Violence 05. 4ÆM 06. New Gods 07. My Name Is Dark 08. You'll Miss Me When I'm Not Around 09. Before The Fever 10. IDORU 11. We Appreciate Power 12. Darq Souls 13. Favorite Psycho 14. Shall I Compare Thee 15. Delicate Weapon

anybody got a link to the full 24hr album, dbree really ain't my friend tonight
-
for real though! she had a real good vibe going aesthetically and sonically... 01. Mother's Daughter 02. Unholy 03. LA Money 04. If I Fall 05. D.R.E.A.M. 06. Party Up The Street 07. Slide Away would've made a great project
-
delicate weapon is on spotify now! also, has she given an explanation to the artwork change on miss anthropocene?
-
ah, just cos she put on her insta yesterday that it was coming at midnight but then nothing appeared on streaming... i thought she was maybe just releasing the single until the samples etc were cleared for the album.
-
so, is delicate weapon coming on to streaming?

I'd honestly love a Pop 2 CD, or even a LP reissue (I own the Number 1 Angel / Pop 2 double LP) but imagine a violet coloured pressing! A deluxe digital release would be nice too, maybe some remixes, outtakes or even demos.
-
This is my thought, it feels too on the nose, like she's deliberately trying to recreate the sound that made her successful (exactly what Katy did with Smile). And I worry that the album (if one comes) will be like Smile, almost feeling like a compilation of past album leftovers with a few new singles added in.

Has anybody had any problems with her UK store? I ordered the folklore CD and cassette back in like July, they arrived last week and the parcel was damaged with the CD and cassette both being shattered inside. Even the CD inlays were torn and damaged... I emailed them regarding a replacement / refund and still haven't heard anything? However, I ordered the folklore LP from her store and it arrived in perfect condition...

I'd honestly love a project in the vein of... Angels Like You Cold Blooded Golden G String High If I Fall Mary Jane Never Be Me Nothing Breaks Like A Heart She's Not Him The Most
-
Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 were definitely companion records and both released in 2017... But Charli didn't come til 19 months after Pop 2...
-
It was mentioned again in her Rolling Stones interview, although I think I'd prefer the project to be an EP and then sometime next year we can get some more original music... Whether that be an EP, deluxe version of Plastic Hearts, a whole new album or even some droplet singles.
-
But like Bangerz (13 track standard) was like 40% ballads/midtempos? Adore You, My Darlin, Wrecking Ball, Drive (an anthem but still kinda ballady?) and Maybe You're Right... Comparing that to Plastic Hearts (12 track standard), it only has 30% ballads... Angels Like You, High, Never Be Me and Golden G String.

I'm honestly so pleased that this album debuted at #2 in the US and #4 in the UK, I know she claims to not care about the charts but I can't help but feel if they'd not fucked up the Black Friday release or at least done signed copies or cassettes etc. she could've gone to #1! Seeing that video of her finding out she's #1 on the rock album charts is nice though, I've always been a fan since Bangerz era and although I tuned out a little during Younger Now, I can't help but root for her and feel proud? I really hope that she'll consider touring when it's safe to do so... Clearly she has some anxiety about doing a headline arena tour, or at least she hinted at that with her Rolling Stones interview. But since Bangerz she's had multiple hits over here that I think could help shift tickets! We Can't Stop, Wrecking Ball, Malibu, Nothing Breaks Like A Heart, Don't Call Me Angel, Midnight Sky and Prisoner are all top 10 hits! And even songs like Adore You, Mother's Daughter and Slide Away made the top 40! Also exciting to see she's been shooting something over the past couple of days! WTF Do I Know and Plastic Hearts are screaming to be singles, Angels Like You could be a nice single to kick off the campaign again post-Christmas! And we know she has that Hate Me video tucked away... Either way I can't wait to see how this era unfolds!
-
I really want her to have some sort of cyber-grunge era (especially if she stays PC)... Aesthetically she'd be like gothic / grunge but also futuristic (maybe similar to the Pop 2 shoot?) I guess my song mood board for the next project would be... 01. Cross You Out 02. Delicious 03. Grins 04. How Can I 05. I Don't Wanna Know 06. Lucky 07. Nuclear Seasons 08. Silver Cross 09. Stay Away 10. White Roses
-
Did anybody order from hmv in the UK? If so, anybodys order dispatched / received?
-
I think it's unlikely this track will be put out officially as its from the SHE IS era of music... But who knows with Miley It's not released til December 16th I think
-
I love it, imagine a deluxe version of this record! 01. WTF Do I Know 02. Plastic Hearts 03. Angels Like You 04. Prisoner (ft. Dua Lipa) 05. Gimme What I Want 06. Night Crawling (ft. Billy Idol) 07. Midnight Sky 08. High 09. Hate Me 10. Bad Karma (ft. Joan Jett) 11. Never Be Me 12. Golden G String 13. Win Some, Lose Some 14. Naked 15. Victoria's Secret 16. Cold Blooded
-
Also, if you're a fan of the pop rock sounds like WTF Do I Know, you should definitely check out Maggie Lindemanns latest few singles

If she does tour imma need a screamo/rock version of Drive in the set list
