The fact that she just dropped this as like a side B project, wow! This alongside Charli's quarantine album... Hope other popstars take note.

I think Honeymoon was still in the vein of the earlier material tbh, just more refined and less controversial than Ultraviolence. She called it her vanity project and I definitely believe that it was her vision and her vision only. Lust For Life was definitely held at gun point by the label; it has label interference written all over it and I guess that's why for me it's her weakest. Norman Fucking Rockwell, again I think was still her vision, but her vision from her then compromised mind set if that makes sense? Like it felt very her and she's clearly very proud of the album. It also touched on the political climate in a more artistic way than the Lust For Life attempts. I think now she's just realised she doesn't have to compromise her mindset cos of something critics said 8 years ago... So yeah, I think the only album that felt like a compromise was Lust For Life. I saw somebody saying how this statement she's released doesn't make sense as of late, she's stopped singing certain songs and lyrics etc. She retired Cola and stopped singing "he hit me and it felt like a kiss" from Ultraviolence. Again, I don't think this was something she was forced to do or was in anyway a compromise. I think she made these decisions to try and be more politically correct and to avoid criticism. However, right now, it seems like she no longer fears the criticism and is ready to return to a sound and style she clearly loves and is passionate about and I guess that in itself is quite brave of her.

Clearly it's a problematic statement, her using women of colour as an argument against her criticism in her early career However, I'm glad that she feels confident and comfortable enough to address the criticism and she's now aware of how unjust it was - I imagine the new album is gonna be in that vein, hence the "can I go back..." I just kinda wish she'd went about it in a better way, y'know

Like I know this is Charli and what she does, but this quote makes no sense... the Janet album wasn't coming til September anyways? So surely she could just pick up where she left off

Also, since we kinda know she's doing a Vegas show after her pregnancy, what do we think it'll be called? I'm really hoping they use Waking Up In Vegas and not like Part Of Me No it'll definitely be called Grateful, all her title tracks are track 1, this one is confirmed as track 7...

This, One Of The Boys and Teenage Dream back to back was a real triumph for her! I really enjoyed PRISM considering her personal life at the time, however it and Witness didn't live up to the magic she once had.

Realistically though, what are the chances of her returning to music? Do we know the details of the RCA contract? How many records she signed to do? I think Glory would be a great place to end her career if this is the case, obviously Britney Jean is a dud but Glory was a real return to form! I imagine they might try and fulfil her contract with other projects? Probably another Greatest Hits, maybe an unreleased/b-sides collection etc.

the merch drop is coming today, probably LA time, I remember she announced the N1A / Pop 2 vinyl late in the evening in the UK... so hopefully that'll update when it's announced? I'm also curious as to whether any physical copies will be put out? even just standard CD and LP? other albums are going up for pre-order so it is possible

I mean Chained To The Rhythm, Bon Appetit, Never Really Over, Walking On Air, By The Grace Of God, Spiritual, Harleys In Hawaii, Tsunami, Power, Choose Your Battles and even Daisies are all great pop songs! They might not have lived up to the hype and success of Teenage Dream era but they're still great and strong songs. There's been no decline in quality where they are concerned...

I mean I used to dream of this concept 01. Party Party 02. Bounce 03. WGFU 04. Party 4 U but now we have 3 of those in a final form, I'm happy
