feel this so hard skkk something was really in the water during late summer 2019 huh? similar to you, I still can't listen to that album without certain feelings coming back. also funnily enough, FIILY is one of my least favourite released songs sort of because of that, which I feel is an unpopular opinion within itself x

Certain things I'm moving at the moment: Discussion of COCC sales, random off topic posts that don't have anything to do with BB or the recent singles, certain analyses of certain lyrics to our lyrics thread, and I did move a large discussion about the "namedropping" in the recent songs that then took a tangent to her namedropping in past songs to the Singles thread as that large discussion derailed discussion from Blue Banisters album x

She may have deleted her posts from her profile, but I just saw this Sponsored post from her account on my timeline posted about 7 hours ago -

Oh my god!! Thank you so much for pointing this out - that's incredible! I remember really loving the verses from the original NFR that she did in this live and wanting her to do something with that, I can't believe I didn't recognise the reuse of the chorus. Even the lyrics are similar: "We keep changing all the time. The best ones lost their minds." Sort of like how she reused the LFL Max Martin verse melody for Yosemite's pre-chorus.. and apparently LMLYLAW was from Ultraviolence, and I've always sort of thought that what the insider meant by that was that she reused some element from an UV outtake/demo for LMLYLAW rather than the whole song itself, especially since she had just mentioned wanting to do something with the lyric "let me love you like a woman" in an interview that was only a year or two before the song's release. I wonder what other elements she reused & recreated for Chemtrails that we wouldn't even know about! x

Blue Banisters vs Norman Fucking Rockwell

Just a note, I'm moving some of the discussion regarding the BLM lyric, thoughts about Lana & Patty's relationship, and Sean's car that were posted in this thread to the proper Lyric threads as it's sort of derailing general discussion about Blue Banisters, so please feel free to continue discussing the lyrics in those lyric threads! x

Thank you for tagging me! I listened to the three songs in the OP, and really enjoyed them! The vocalist has a beautiful voice - it sort of reminds me of Malidah from Liamere and a bit of Lynn Gunn from PVRIS, especially in the first song, which is my favourite out of the three. I'll be looking into more of their stuff - I always love discovering new artists x

So.. it's been about two and a half months since I emailed them about the broken selenite heart in my vibes box, and I have yet to hear back. They specifically said in the auto-response to not send duplicate requests or they'll be sent to the back of the queue, but I feel like it's been so long that I should try again.. especially now that they just restocked with the boxes and now I'm faced with the decision to either just try reaching out to them again or shelling out more money to rebuy another box

The background vocals are from Melodye Perry, who was one of the background singers on Summertime & LMLYLAW Jimmy Fallon performance x

I know, I've been so caught up today with approving a slew of new registrations, making sure the site doesn't crash, and keeping a general eye on things that I haven't had a moment to even share my thoughts Thank you for asking! I think the songs are absolutely gorgeous. The insiders described them perfectly, they are classic LDR songs. I love how raw and personal she got with the lyrics, being so brave to share her story especially on things she hasn't previously spoken about. The melodies are also gorgeous. Everything about Wildflower Wildfire kills me. I think that one's my favourite. I've always been a sucker for her higher vocals, and she executed them perfectly. I think her voice just keeps getting better over the years. The lyrics in this one are also incredible. So many "wow" moments for me in this song. I also love love LOVE the jazziness of the verses in Text Book.. honestly if it wasn't for the chorus melody that reminds me of Demi's GYHAB, I think Text Book would've ended up being my favourite. I just can't help but hear the Demi song whenever the chorus of that one starts skkk. But again - so personal, so beautiful. Lana has a certain sort of magical gift when it comes to telling her story and stringing her words together into beautiful lyrics and melodies. Blue Banisters is also everything I hoped it would be. It's sort of like Hope in a way where the simplicity of the melody and production just emphasize what she's trying to say in the very best way - and Hope is one of my favourites too. Blue Banisters makes me want to cry, and I'm sure it will one day when I'm in my sad girl hours. I would say for now my preference of the three is WW > BB > TB although it's a tough call. I really do love them all, each for its own reasons. These tracks have me really excited for what's to come next. Whether these end up being tracks on the upcoming album or not, I love the direction she's going in. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us x

Lana has called Chuck "Chicken" as a nickname so I'm assuming she is saying chicken as in Chuck, especially since she mentions her the line before x

OKAY ALL LISTEN FOR JUST A SEC - We have way too many people online at the moment, way over our usual capacity, so we need a bit of dispersion. Too many people in one area of the site all at once is going to cause slow loading times for threads or further crashes of the site altogether. This is exactly what happened in January. To combat this, the advice I received is to disperse traffic to different parts of the site. So, please keep all discussion of a song's lyrics in its unique lyric thread: Blue Banisters, Text Book, Wildflower Wildfire Please keep all discussion of the three new songs in the Triple Single Release thread. Please keep all discussion about the future of the album in the album Pre-Release thread. At least for the next few hours while traffic is high. & try to look on the bright side of things - this thread will eventually be locked forever and forgotten about, while Lyric & New Release threads stay alive for eternity! Thanks all, carry on x

I recognised the Demi melody immediately lol I never really cared for that song, but Lana did it better

I guess you could call it text book I was looking for the father I wanted back & I thought I found it in Brentwood It seemed only appropriate you’d easily have my back & Then there the was the issue of her I didn’t even like myself or love the life I had & There you were with shining stars Standing blue with open arms You touched the detriment most of the friends I knew already had You’ve got a Thunderbird My daddy had one too Let’s rewrite history I’ll do this dance with you You know I’m not that girl You know I’ll never be Maybe just the way we’re different could set me free There we were Screaming Black Lives Matter In a crowd by the Old Man River & I saw you saw who I am God, I wish I was with my father He could see us in all our splendor I screamed for them Oh I scream for them Ahh Could we do this dance again? Do you think if I go blonde we could get our old love back? I guess this is really the end I never felt jealous before this year but I’m jealous now People say we’re too much alike But maybe, finally that'll make it right In the end of all these sleepless nights Other men I met felt right Would smile at you and stick in a knife In your back, finally I met you so I’m not wondering why You’ve got a Thunderbird My daddy had one too Let’s rewrite history I’ll do this dance with you You know I’m not that girl You know I’ll never be Maybe just the way we’re different could set me free There we were Screaming Black Lives Matter In a crowd by the Old Man River & I saw you saw who I am God, I wish I was with my father He could see us in all our splendor I screamed for them Oh I scream for them Ahh Old man river keeps rolling With or without him Old man river keeps rolling Without him, my old man Old man river keeps rolling Ohh Lyrics in italics or marked with a question mark are ones I could use some input on! x

Okay all, I ended up moving the 20 pages of freedumb hullabaloo out of here so we can have a clean slate for tomorrow! Let's try to keep everything under control until then - I'm off to sleep soon, but I look forward to losing my mind with you all tomorrow when we're blessed with 3 new songs! A holy trinity indeed! Lots of love, what a day! xx
