  1. I mean, yes she did some promotion, but compared to most major artists, that's like basically nothing. For the record, I don't really care how much promotion she does in terms of how it affects the sales (she doesn't care so what's the point). I would just love to see her talk and perform more lol
  2. Love this Billboard quote: "Under the cover of midnight, Del Rey has been exploring big ideas about eroticism, drugs, myth, the empty promise of YOLO, what it means to be a woman, and the American soul. But sure, keep writing her off as “sad.”
  3. Agreed in general, but I also think it's interesting/informative to see how non-stans consume the record. In an ideal world everyone would be like us (lol) and understand Lana and her music and what she's trying to convey. Sure, the same old comments and biases against her can get old, but what I've seen with most reviews this era is that people are actually understanding more where she's coming from and recognizing the music for what it is, and not critiquing the person who's behind it.
  4. Drake and Future's mixtape will probably block her #1 (since it's commercially available) but whatever....110-115K is still amazing considering the literal zero promo.
  5. I actually liked this interview. Gave me some insight into her process of turing Honeymoon from a "jazz" record into what it is now. I remember her saying all these things about how Honeymoon was gonna resemble the "golden age of jazz" and all that, which is pretty different from the end result. Interesting to hear her thought process on that.
  6. Lol clearly forgot about all of these...oops. thanks I bet EW will be good, same with billboard.
  7. wait so what big ones are we still waiting for besides pitchfork??
  8. Yeah I mean I once tried to go to a meet and greet with Pearl and Violet Chachki from RPDR at some random American Apparel (my only M&G that I've tried to go to) and even that was too much for me... ugh but I want to meet her so bad SO CONFLICTED
  9. I'm obsessed with DLMBM i don't understand all of the hate. If you stand for TOW, you'll stan for this.
  10. This is my fear - that all reviews will tear her down for her "same old" lyrics. Which isn't entirely inaccurate...
  11. I want to go and I was thinking the absolute earliest I would do is 5am, but idk how many crazies will be camping out. respect to those crazies tho
  12. Who was the person who asked if Big Eyes/I Can Fly would be a taste of what Honeymoon would sound like? Because I'm definitely hearing some Big Eyes similarities on 24 (and maybe a few others on the second half) and not sure if that makes me happy or sad or if I just don't care because it's all flawless. I also will say that while I love the album, I also kinda wish she had continued in her "golden age of jazz" direction that she mentioned when she first started talking about Honeymoon. I just love her jazz covers so much
  13. I posted this in the other thread but does anyone hear similar strings to Honeymoon during some parts of DLMBM? Either way, I'm dead, bald, buried, rotting, resurrected, and then butchered with a machete. The only songs I'm having trouble getting into are Religion and Swan Song...
