  1. I don’t think of BB as a fall album, but more of a spring album. There are a lot of references to flowers, including cherry blossoms that only bloom around March or April, the title track itself mentions the weather turning to May, Thunder sounds like a windy spring or summer day… A spring release would’ve been perfect! On the other hand, COTCC is a perfect fall album. I’ve adored this album since the beginning, but I’ve never loved it more than now. I wish Lana could’ve released it last year in September, and BB around May this year, or next year, but I understand why Lana didn’t want to wait to release it
  2. She scrapped a lot of newly written songs for this album, I don’t think she chose to include these unreleased to fill the gaps. If she really wanted to, she could’ve chosen some of the new songs she had written, or she could’ve just released a shorter album like Chemtrails
  3. I think what really matters is not much an artist sells, but the quality of their work. Getting a #1 or selling millions of copies is cool, but what’s even cooler is doing it with a qualitative body of work, not something mediocre that’s meant to appeal to the masses
  4. I don’t know if I’m the only one having this issue, but when I listen to Arcadia on Spotify, the volume of her voice when she belts seems too high, like the vocals are placed too forward in the mix, which sometimes creates a sort of distortion. When I listen to the exact same part on the song preview on Apple Music, the vocals seem perfectly placed in the mix and there’s no distortion at all.
  5. The beginning of Yosemite was fixed, but not the end of NAWWAL However when an album drops on Spotify, we usually get the remastered versions of the songs (only if they got remastered obviously), I think that’s what happened with MAC and VB for NFR
  6. Arcadia is now in the top 5 of her most popular songs on Spotify! Something that none of the three previous singles achieved.
  7. I love it when people share their personal connections with songs! What a beautiful story, although it’s indeed also very sad. Hope you get better soon, time (and music) will heal everything
  8. At first when I learned that there would be six unreleased songs on the album, I was a bit confused as for why she’d choose to include them over newer songs, but since it was confirmed that CB, Thunder and Living Legend were gonna be on the album, I couldn’t be more excited for the album. Hearing them remastered and in HQ is gonna have me pass out!! The only unreleased I don’t really care for is Nectar, tbh I really hope she reworked it. But I totally understand why it’s a fan favourite
  9. I don’t think Lana has any problem with NFR, when it got released, it seemed to be the album she was the most proud of and one of her most introspective ones at the time, with how much of her "daily life" was in it. The songwriting was different from her past works such as UV or HM because she was in a different place in her life, and had grown up and matured a lot. But I think that with the amazing reception the album got, Lana might have thought she was finally loved by the general public as a person, when in fact, what people loved was the album, not necessarily her. The general public never really liked her as a person. QFTC is what made her realise people loved her music, but still weren’t on the same boat as her. Chemtrails was her telling how she misses a life without fame and how much of a burden it can be, and also how important her family is to her when times get rough. And now with BB she’s about to tell the whole story. NFR was a statement, it’s where she was back then and where she probably still is in terms of her everyday life, but with Chemtrails and BB, we’re getting a larger picture of her past too, and the damage that the public not liking her as a person has brought.
  10. When you say LL isn’t as flat, are you talking about the production, or the vocals too? Because there are definitely some flat vocal moments in the leaked version
  11. Just a speculation, but if BOZ has no idea of why Rick is credited on CB, it might be because Lana made last minute changes on it. She could’ve reworked something with Rick just before submitting the album to the label, and BOZ only had the version of the album before this song got reworked. Thus he didn’t have the version with Rick on the credits
  12. I was thinking that Black Bathing Suit might be a song à la Sober II from Melodrama, a mix of piano, strings (which are dominant in Arcadia) and heavy bass from the interlude
  13. The way Barrie worded his post makes me think that they might have had recent studio sessions together to redo the old songs. I don’t think he would’ve said that he worked on BB if he was talking about sessions from 8 years ago, because if it was the case, he wouldn’t have technically worked on BB. Lana choosing to include old unreleased songs he played instruments on doesn’t mean he really worked with her on the new album edit: just to clarify, I know he said « collaborated » and not « worked », but that’s how I understood it, it’s the same for me
  14. Could someone post the four covers please? I just wanna quickly download them but I’ll admit I’m too lazy to search for each one of them haha
  15. Hence why I’m hoping she re-recorded the oldest unreleased, her voice is untouchable now
  16. I don’t know why but Arcadia makes me miss someone so much and I can’t get over this feeling. The power that this song holds…
  17. Apparently CB is produced by Rick Nowels? What if we’re getting an unknown 2016 version? Isn’t it the year she teased it for the first time, singing it in an Instagram post? She could’ve intended to include it on LFL, there were so many songs scrapped from this album
  18. The interlude slaps SO HARD!!! But as for now, I have a hard time imagining how it could fit the album, so I’m more excited than ever to hear this new record in full
  19. The thing with TNBAR is that she rewrote it and changed its original meaning, which isn’t necessarily something she has to do for every song. "Reworking" a song can also just mean perfecting the instrumental or recording more recent vocals for it
  20. I never understood the hate for him, as you said, all he does is concretise the artist’s vision. If people think all of Lana’s piano ballads are produced by Jack now, it’s clearly not that they don’t click with Jack, but with Lana’s vision and current sound :/ She’s the one who wants her songs to sound a certain way
  21. I’ve seen people on Twitter think Arcadia was produced by Jack and asking Lana to stop making piano songs with him… Funny thing is Jack didn’t even produce Arcadia, it just shows how he was never the problem. Some fans just don’t like her new sound and her piano-based songs, no matter who produced them. It’s just easier for them to blame Jack than admit Lana’s music might not be for them anymore :/ Anyway, stream Arcadia tonight!!!
