why?

It's nice but still waiting on one of those high production videos like BTD, Ride, or National Anthem. Maybe I'm not understanding the beauty of it or something but yeah, it's ok.

BTD. Beginning of summer 2012.

In no order, Brooklyn Baby, Money Power Glory, and Old Money are my favorites after the first listen. Guns and Roses is my least favorite. I love the new version of Black Beauty. The album is SO different from BTD/Paradise. I love how cohesive the album is. It's hard for me to really see how I feel about the album after only listen and which songs I like over the others. But generally after the first listen, I'm very happy with the album, lived up to my expectations and the wait.

KIIS FM - June 6th, 2014 [Audio]
Venice Jesus Whore replied to Wilde_child's topic in New Interviews
Great interview! Makes me wanna go to LA right now and go to the beach and drive late at night. I hope we get to hear the original Ultraviolence without Auerbach's production later on. The 911 part though -
Ride imo but that could be because I relate to it so well. It just sounds depressing to me plus the fact that she's saying she's so lonely, left out, misunderstood, and doesn't know what to do in her situation that all she can do is ride.

Ultraviolence - Pre-Release Thread
Venice Jesus Whore replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
I know it's stupid to judge off of these 30 second clips but I'm a little disappointed after listening to them. Gonna wait for the full album to really judge. -
Promo Single: "BROOKLYN BABY" (June 8)

I know what you mean. The very first time I heard the Brooklyn Baby snippet, it instantly reminded me of Summertime Sadness. I haven't managed to get them mixed up though... yet. -

It has been all day since I first heard it. I can't get it out. The chorus is just so catchy. -
I'm so afraid she's going to quit music after the Ultraviolence era. I have yet to see her in person and she has the best music rn imo. She can't quit. I noticed this as well. I wonder if she's having problems with depression, is feeling overworked, or what. Her recent interviews all seem really worrying and sad to me. -

Videos for "Shades of Cool" and "Ultraviolence" Coming Soon
Venice Jesus Whore replied to Sebastian's topic in New Releases
I really hope she has some amazing concept for this video. She has some of the best music videos imo (Ride, National Anthem, BTD, BJ) but I was really disappointed with West Coast. I've been waiting for another video as amazing as the four I just mentioned. -
I'm a little disappointed after my first listen. The lyrics are weird. The rhythm seems off at times. The chorus is repetitive. The end of the song seems kind of jumbled/all over the place/too much at once. And I feel like it could be stronger. Maybe I need to warm up to it but these were my first impressions.

WC, SOC, UV, BB - your favorite single? [updated]
Venice Jesus Whore replied to Sebastian's topic in Lana Thoughts
West Coast. I remember I was amazed when I heard it the first time. The drums in it are so good and the chorus makes me feel high. I've never even been high before but that's what I expect it to be like. It's just so great. SOC is great too, I just like WC better. I just listened to Ultraviolence for the first time and I'm unsure. It's good but a little repetitive and I feel like it could be improved. Maybe I need to listen to it more to warm up to it, I'm just a little disappointed. Btw, I only listened to the live version once so in no way was I more used to the live version.
