It worries me a bit that Ronson hasn't produced anything. My worst nightmare is an album full of Daniel Heath productions I edited the OP with audio from the interview Ronson did with Triple J where he says their collab is just an internet rumor, but says he has heard beautiful tracks: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/media/s4174087.htm 34:05 He does say that he didn't want to say anything before she commented, though.

I hate that stupid criticism. Every co-writer she has worked with has noted that she is very demonstrative about what she wants and they typically just supply the musical composition or instrumentals for the sound she has crafted. I think she's too generous with credits sometimes.

...which was a sardonic play on cliches in itself. It was supposed to appear simple and redundant.

Ok, updating my idea of what Honeymoon should be like. Artwork (or anything from this shoot, really): Producer: Mark Ronson and David Lynch Lyrics: Personal and more psychological. Something surrealist and Lynchian - in that it appears very colorful and effervescent but has a darker undertone - would be very cool. Songs like: Pin Up (Galore) Come When You Call Me AMERICA I Don't Wanna Go Cola Tired of Singing the Blues Velvet Crowbar Dayglo Reflection Oh Say Can You See Sad Girl Million Dollar Man Hawaiian Tropic Nina Simone cover Upbeat yet bittersweet indie rock like these songs would be awesome as well: Back cover:

I tried to ignite productive conversation. I really did.

Since there isn't any recent news and this thread tends to go off the rails, why don't we all name what we would like to see the album end up looking and sounding like? Just for fun! Producers: Mainly Ronson, but a couple of tracks by David Lynch as well. I love his work with Julee Cruise and Lykke Li and it's perfect for Lana. Genre: A mixture of Nina Simone-esque jazz and psychedelic rock/dream pop (sort of like Mazzy Star, The War on Drugs, or Beach House). Lyrical content: I'm hoping for something more stripped-down and upbeat, but I love the idea of Fellini-inspired surrealism. As always, very personal but with a dose of story-telling and social commentary. Artwork: I'm hoping for a colorful cover that features Lana in her usual cover pose, but smiling and set against a beautiful beach backdrop. Something like the Galore shoot. And hopefully the disc will feature new flowers...maybe hibiscus since they are lively and colorful.

I like Emile a lot (his work with FKA twigs is incredible), but I just don't think he's a good fit for Lana's overall musical style. She originally sought him out because she knew she wanted to create an album that combined strings and hip-hop beats and he provided the latter. Their collaboration worked well in that regard, but I think that sound would become too redundant if they made another album together. She's brilliant when it comes to choosing producers to materialize her intended sound, and I really hope that Ronson does help her create the jazz album that she has been wanting to make for a while.

The other article from Pitchfork says that it is a result of schedule conflicts that prevented Lana from the finishing the song.

Whatever Honeymoon is like, I'm just excited to see how Lana follows up Ultraviolence and what story this album will tell. What I love about Lana as an artist is that each album is such an incredible, cohesive entity that serves as a chapter of her life that she has decided to share with us.

I'm cool with Nowels and Heath co-writing again, but I really hope they do not produce anything...I'm sure they will, though. I also wish she would bring Parker back for a couple of tracks. He's so talented and executes her vision well.
