  1. I feel the exact opposite way about them. I think the new versions of BJ and Y&B are so much more atmospheric.
  2. From LDRO: "Ultraviolence has influences of Phil Spector and his Wall of Sound production method." Dying of excitement. I'm sure this technique was inspired by Lana's love for the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album.
  3. Now I could get behind that sound. Hip-hop beats mixed with rock.
  4. This is one of my favorite shoots that she has ever done...gorgeous.
  5. Ugh, I was really excited about a psychedelic rock-esque album. I'm pretty wary of hip-hop beats and a potential cluster-fuck of genres. Diversity in an album is great, but you still want it to maintain a coherent theme in sound, and WC and Dan as a producer made it seem like her sound had matured. However, the lyrics sound intriguing.
  6. What in the hell is happening in here? I can't even. UV needs to come out before the rest of us go batshit crazy from reading posts like these.
  7. Love it. She's totally the Stevie Nicks of our generation.
  8. The same as iTunes version 1, no?
  9. Good luck with getting there! Maybe we'll bump into each other at some point.
  10. By the way, Lana posted the National Anthem trailer a day before the video was released and all of the videos ahead of WC on the VEVO schedule (http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/media/media_vevo.cgi) have already premiered this week.
  11. Yeah, there's free parking at the pavilion!
  12. The Double Tree was the closest to the venue that I saw, so I made a reservation for two nights there. I really want to get front row, but I don't think camping out is worth it if she's one of the later acts to go on. I guess we'll just wake up early to get to the gates. Where are you staying?
  13. Yeah, I definitely think and hope that it's solely a European mix.
  14. I'm going! Just made hotel reservations last night. This is already a ridiculously expensive trip...but so worth it.
  15. I'm not too fond of it either. It's fine, I guess, but it completely loses the atmospheric quality of the original. I couldn't care less about radio success...they should have just stuck with the one great version they had.
  16. It wouldn't be a Lana video without a daddy.
  17. It looks gorgeous as expected with Haycock directing. Very Wicked Game-esque.
  18. The momentum could have been maintained if Interscope hadn't take the original version off iTunes and delayed the music video release.
  19. http://www.metacritic.com/person/dan-auerbach Dan has a really superb critical record as a producer (as well as his Grammy). Hopefully, UV will continue the resurgence with them that Lana has been experiencing. I would predict something between 73-82. I think anything less would be very disappointing considering her more mature sound/lyrics and Dan's track record of incredible production. Critics will always maintain some bias, though.
  20. Okay, I will pay one of you Frenchies to buy this and send it to me when it comes out.
