Beautiful (album version) >>> Beautiful (with strings)
-
I'm pretty sure it's "Eccentricities holding me back" instead of "He's interested, he's holding me back"!
-
Agreed about it being a very sad song. There's always comfort in denial.
-
Definitely one of her most opaque and layered songs meaning-wise, if not the most. I found it interesting that critics didn't even attempt to dissect it. A very heavy song for her to make Track 1 on any album, but she manages to make it sound like a warm breeze.

Same! I love this album because it's her vision, explaining her story, a very important transitional album... But I'm also very excited at the thought of her tapping into this deeper form of writing for her next fully 'modern day Lana' album. -

Yes! Hearing her talk about her favorite songs on the album, and the songs she specifically referenced… Arcadia, Living Legend, Cherry Blossom, Nectar of the Gods, Dealer… It’s clear that she loves these songs and wasn’t just throwing them onto the album for the hell of it. I was actually surprised she was talking about and referencing the older songs so much! I’m happy they found a home. -

I hope y'all are buying the album and supporting the Queen... -
Does anyone know which book Lana was talking about, the one she refused to specify, about making firm declarations and receiving messages/psychic abilities, etc?

The first words that came to mind for me were 'Lithium' and 'Mother'. -
Wow, I know everyone hates Sean here, but it sounds like that relationship in particular really messed her up (I'm on page 1159, still catching up).

this whole entire thing sounds extremely loony. love love love.

the slightly unhinged energy of it all... just reading the text... exactly why I love her

Just thinking of @graham4anything today. I miss our king. Another release day without him and his beautiful, passionate writing. We miss you, Graham... xo -
ooh this is such good news, that means she has her pattern <3

I'm not even watching this and I'm already embarrassed about the twink.
-
I'm down for her dropping surprise albums on digital as long as she presses them on vinyl later for us.
-
omg i need to see this

I love hearing her talk about the album, the songs on it, and also that she's already writing NEW MUSIC. I'm happy she hasn't announced an album, though. For once.

I get this, too! It's mysterious and expansive like Honeymoon, but also quietly soul-bearing at the same time. I think @Thunder made a post about BB being a mix of Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, and Chemtrails, so this all makes sense to me in my head. -

I get that, too, oddly enough. Those two albums feel... heavier than her others? Or have more weight to them? They're also sort of smoky and bluesy. Whisky, fire, contemplation... -

The thought of combining Chemtrails and BB makes me cringe. Two completely different experiences and worlds for me. -

Love Elton, but he needs to fuck off this week. We'll see how the album does commercially, but I'd probably care more if her team/label didn't screw up the physical release.
