  1. I'd argue this is like... in her top 5 emotional moments of her discography. It's painfully bittersweet.
  2. These are the colors I see when I listen to them: Text Book (brown) Blue Banisters (blue) Arcadia (cream) The Trio - Interlude (desert sunset) Black Bathing Suit (deep rust) If You Lie Down With Me (maroon) Beautiful (light gray) Violets For Roses (evergreen) Dealer (smoky dark gray) Thunder (rich red) Wildflower Wildfire (orange) Nectar of the Gods (tan) Living Legend (sandy) Cherry Blossom (icy blue) Sweet Carolina (gold)
  3. The merch is absolutely gorgeous. It's too bad we're all getting it late! Mine won't be here until mid-November. Frustrating!
  4. Can't stand Phoebe Bridgers. She reminds me of every alt girl who went to art school, wrote shitty bland indie music, was desperate for attention but would never openly admit it, and thought they were so funny/witty/cool.
  5. Listening to the album straight through again, and she NAILED the tracklist this time. It really takes you on a journey, reading your comments is helping me make sense of it. Text Book is such a mysterious opener that morphs its complexity into something beautiful and emotional (even if still extremely layered). Blue Banister sends you down the rabbit hole, an almost stream-of-consciousness flood of emotion. Arcadia is almost a taunt, in my opinion, or a quiet defense. It's playful, sweet, and cleverly masking its underlying anger. The Trio makes you think "What the fuck?", but it totally makes sense when you consider the chaotic energy of Lana flipping the bird at us in the video as Arcadia ends. It's a warning to the listener of what's to come... Which comes in the form of Black Bathing Suit and onward. The midsection is just pure catharsis - she wants to be loved even if it's all a lie, her pain is beautiful, everything you love she hates, she knows you won't give her one shirt off your back, but it's cool, because she also knows the real you -- what you're really like when the party ends. ... And on I could go. But ya know. It's a ride. (I loved the posts analyzing the run from tracks 11-15. Wildflower Wildfire about who she aims to be as a lover to avoid being like her mother, Nectar of the Gods being a battle of the self, Living Legend, Cherry Blossom, and Sweet Carolina covering various forms of motherhood - adopted, self-soothing/parenting, her sister/post-partum depression... ) It's layers to this shit...
  6. Blue Banisters hinted at what I'm wanting... I love the raw, poetic, messy vibe... but I want her to go all out on the next album. Unhinged, wild, loose, aggressive, psychedelic, chaotic energy.
  7. You can't tell me the second verse of Arcadia isn't intentional. It's my favorite part of the song.
  8. I want the next album to be completely unhinged. Give me an album full of wild vocals the normies can't take!
  9. What off key vocals is he even referring to other than the second verse of Arcadia, and the yelling on BBS/Dealer? "Off key vocals in almost every pocket of the album"? Bitch, where? Honestly, all the things he doesn't like about the album - how raw, messy and varied it is, are my favorite things about it. I would say it's definitely the most Hardcore Lana album yet, in that it's closest to who she is as an ~actual human being~, so clearly she just isn't for him. He may not like the execution, but he can't say she didn't experiment a bit here. Also, rolling my eyes at him falling into the Twitter-esque interpretation of Text Book and basically calling her a fake ally. He fell for every single bit of the critic bait.
  10. called that bullshit ............ whatever, she's just not for him, lol
  11. It grew on me for sure. When I first heard it, I was like ".......Stop playin." already irritated by this. 5 or 6 guaranteed.
  12. Yes! I loved how she said "Chemistry never dies". A cynical reading of that would be "Oh, she just doesn't want to let go of this guy...", but I found it comforting. Even if a relationship doesn't work out, there's a reason the two of you were brought together. Even if you're no longer in love, there was still something there, a chemistry, that connected you. And that never dies. I found it a really comforting reminder - every relationship has value, no matter its fate. She also had me super interested in the manifestation stuff, with all the books. I know people typically turn to New Age stuff when they're ***struggling*** and really need to get through a breakup/loss, etc., so I felt for her there... This may come off as dramatic, but there's a massive sense of loss in Blue Banisters (title track) that radiates through the entire song - a heartbreak so deep that leaves you feeling close to numb. The video portrayed it very well. I think it's one of Lana's saddest songs, even if she's trying to spin it into something optimistic. She's still mourning the life she wants but can't seem to attain, which is why I think she's continuously talking about being on "the writer's/artist's path" and whatnot. (wrote more than I intended to, haha)
  13. Yes, it is a bit of a bummer that if all the variants were readily available, she easily would have been #2 on the album charts instead of #8 but ... it is what it is. She's not worried about it, so we shouldn't be, either. I'm excited for all of us to get our vinyl and merch.
  14. I'm curious about this, too. He really did a number on her, I wasn't expecting her to talk about him the way she did on the Live. She clearly still misses him. I would like to personally thank him for the excellent music he's inspired in these last two albums.
  15. Thank you! White > Yellow >>> Red for me when it comes to the variants. I would have loved a dark blue or purple for the Target variant to switch it up from the red, but I feel like she loves red for her music, so whatevs.
  16. Congrats! Did you saturate the color on that photo at all, by chance? I'm surprised at how 'warm' the yellow is. I love it. I was expecting that sort of 'neon lime yellow' other albums have been getting on yellow vinyl.
  17. Yeah, it’s totally illogical. Best move would have been to have everything out at once. Doesn’t really matter when it’s released in the end, as long as it’s not the same week as Adele. Now we have certain people having breakdowns over sales figures that were completely avoidable (even though they hate the album, too?!?)
  18. This is hilariously condescending. Half of her albums aren’t even above 7/10 in your rankings. If half her output is that mediocre to you, frankly, l don’t consider YOU to be a true fan. A lot of us here genuinely do feel she’s putting out consistently great albums. Your experience with her music, your favorite songs - they don’t automatically apply to everyone else.
  19. Your constant negativity is irritating in general, and this post is lacking clear perspective. You’re acting like Lana didn’t just sell 75K first week this March? This is her *second album this year*, and there are multiple valid, legitimate reasons why the sales are what they are.
  20. Haven’t even read the drama, but the facts are this: - The album has an 80 on Metacritic and is 1 point away from “Universal Acclaim” status. - Lana discussing the album on Live showed how much thought and care she put into it. - Her team/label botching the physicals fucked up the sales. That is a fact. - Lana deleting ALL of her socials a month before her album release helped nothing. - If her sales aren’t where you want them to be, ask yourself “Did I buy the album and support my fave?”, then go from there. We’ve been spoiled with another classic.
  21. I love this pic, you ultraviolent baddie.
