  1. The way you’re 101% spot on with this. I have a feeling this album is going to be a huge grower for those initial reviewers.
  2. Yeah, we should get a sales update today or tomorrow. If the crazy K Pop fans have called us to war, we may all need to buy another copy or two. But seriously - another #1 in the UK, 100K+ in the US, 80+ Universally Acclaimed on Metacritic, BNM on Pitchfork — this is honestly all we could have asked for.
  3. One of her most achingly beautiful songs. I swear this song will be regarded in the future as a discography highlight.
  4. Let the Light In is probably never going to touch my Top 5 on this album (too much competition), but I absolutely LOVE her placement within the album. The song just feels so good when it appears after such an emotionally heavy stretch. I adore it.
  5. I clearly need to do some reading because I don’t know shit about Black Dahlia and this silly drama.
  6. Sweet is honestly one of my favorites. I wasn't expecting that, but I love her so much.
  7. I already have the standard CD + all the vinyl (except Amazon's until they press it on the correct color, lol) AND just bought 3 cassettes from the UK store, but I'm going to go buy the Target CD tomorrow just because.
  8. I think she meant it isn't a good "song" in terms of what an actual "song" is supposed to be (catchy, defined chorus, etc)... not anything to do with Fingertips' quality.
  9. I'm tired of waiting on Amazon's slow ass (even w/ my Prime membership). I'm going to WalMart tonight to buy the standard CD + vinyl.
  10. The way the standard outsold all the other variants somehow >>>
  11. Well, if any of y'all haven't gone out and bought the album, or have been on the fence about a vinyl or tape, show our girl some luvvvv! 100k + 8.3 BNM would be a total win.
  12. @Xenoblade 2 you can stfu about sales now, or love the album again, whichever angle you prefer
  13. I honestly love it. It's frightening, eerie, unsettling, and odd... And the super strong reactions people are having to it make me appreciate it even more. That's what art should do. I'm gay, grew up in the church, have had a very mixed experience with religion, but I find Lana's artistic vision fascinating and compelling. The interludes are obviously here to add a thick layer of heavy atmosphere. It doesn't bother me at all, but I can understand why others may not like it, projecting off their own lived experiences. Megachurches and celebrity pastors are evil if you ask me, but that's also why I'm not surprised Lana's intrigued by them.
  14. Holy shit, her subreddit is insufferable right now re: the Judah Smith Interlude. It's always insufferable, but I had to actually close out of it.
  15. Wow, you're beyond lucky. I'm extremely jealous right now.
  16. hypothetically, of course - i'd never actually adjust/alter Lana's vision 1. The Grants 2. Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd 3. Sweet 4. A&W 5. Candy Necklace 6. Fishtail 7. Paris, TX 8. Kintsugi 9. Fingertips 10. Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing 11. Let the Light In 12. Margaret 13. Peppers 14. Taco Truck x VB
  17. Is there any way to buy a Portrait tee? Really want that. (Sorry, I haven't been able to catch up in the thread today)
  18. yep, this is why. If BB got 80 on MC, Lana should not be having to fight to keep 80 with an album like Ocean Blvd. I get that it's a challenging album for people who aren't stans of Lana, but you can still admit it's brilliant, like ........ ?
  19. Yep. Like I've said a hundred times, this is definitely an album for the diehard Lana fans. Maybe it'll be a cult classic down the line. But the normies and casual listeners and even BTD stans are not going to get it. Oh well. This is her deepest album yet, and quite clearly a challenging listen for some people...
  20. it seems odd to me that it's so hard for her to stay above 80 w/ this album. Midnights cleared 85 so easily and that's honestly a piece of trash compared to this.
  21. Grandfather can never be played just once when I listen to the album front-to-back. #instantRepeat
  22. The back-to-back hit of Kintsugi -> Fingertips might be too much, or a breaking point for casual listeners (or BTD stans), but they're sisters. They belong together. It's the heart of the album.
