  1. Wayamaya vs Mariners Apartment Complex
  2. I’ve been thinking now that this might actually be a spontaneous decision for Lana. Seeing as she’s releasing it on the 10th anniversary of her debut album (also a Saturday), it’s clear she did this intentionally and she probably knew we’d all catch on too. I’m also thinking she might possibly only sell it for as long as her first album was available too, probably as just a fun (but unnecessary) parallel. It’s crazy to see though how far she’s come in a decade. It really feels like she’s celebrating her first 10 years, and how far she’s come and how much she’s grown by releasing this poetry album. She finally gets to be a poet.
  3. Idk how long everyone else’s days are, but I definitely can’t listen to her entire discography 6 or 7 times a day. The whole discography all the way through (not including unreleased), once or twice. Maybe three times, but that’s still cutting it close. Gotta find out how to double the length of my days... imagine all the Lana music I’d get to listen to.
  4. I prefer movies. I sometimes get too overwhelmed when I have a series to keep up with and I’ll usually end up putting it off and then have more to catch up on and it’s an endless cycle lol. Do you cook/bake anything that’s from an old family recipe?

  7. After a day, I gotta day, I really do love the video. I’ve already watched it 4 times and I generally don’t care much for music videos. Last one I enjoyed this much was Freak. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it is mine, so I appreciate having it.
  8. Just watched it. It’s cute. I’m glad she released it, I always love the homemade style videos. I especially liked that they kept all the giggling in the Bartender part. Definite rewatch value. Loved LDR in front of the pool during NFR best. Very relaxing.
  9. I kind of assumed it would be like Burnt Norton, maybe more raw sounding instrumentals though. Also another good example would be the Joan Baez album “Baptism” which is her reading poetry over soft orchestration. That’s what I’m hoping for at least.
  10. I kinda think it might be both. But it could also be neither. I do think it will at least go with her poetry book if it doesn’t replace it though.
  11. I couldn’t be more excited! My fave Joan Baez album is Baptism and I’ve always hoped Lana would do an album like that, especially after she recited Burnt Norton on Honeymoon already. I really really wanted Lana to do this. Her voice is so soothing, idec if she just reads her grocery list.
  12. So would the spoken word poetry album technically be WHF or do you guys think they’re separate endeavours? Anyway, a poetry album is totally one of the concepts I was interested in seeing and I’m excited for it. I wonder if she’s releasing physical copies. She made it unclear whether it would be digital only or just a limited time release. If this is technically in the wrong thread, sorry.
  13. I meant right away. Both music videos were out for a few hours before she posted about it. Even the one that had a countdown. I didn’t mean she didn’t acknowledge them at all. I just figured they wanted to watch it as soon as it’s out since they were asking us.
  14. I assume at least more than 24 hours still. She doesn’t often drop videos at midnight, so I’d assume tomorrow afternoon. She’ll probably post it around noon her time tomorrow, maybe even later. Idek if she’ll acknowledge it being out, so you might have to keep checking.
  15. Terrence Loves You vs Venice Bitch
  16. This is such a beautiful album. Lana at her kookiest and most raw. It’s a shame so many fans don’t count this one just because it’s out of print. In many ways, I also find it the album most sonically similar to NFR. And it probably has some of my favourite lyrics of hers. I hope she is able to rerelease it someday, but if not, at least we all still know about it and can enjoy it. I’m also very grateful that it was unofficially pressed to vinyl so I can still enjoy it that way.
  17. When this album came out, it felt like the universe was finally confirming to me that Lana really was our generation’s equivalent of Joni Mitchell. I always felt like they were on similar wavelengths during the same points of their careers but when Honeymoon came out, it was the most obvious. In many ways, Honeymoon thematically felt like the long lost sister of For the Roses. I especially felt this way when I first heard Lana recite Burnt Norton, which seems to tie the whole album together and also had always seemed so connected to Joni’s For the Roses. Sometimes it’s hard for me to listen to these albums without listening to the other because they just go together so well. I’d definitely recommend listening to For the Roses to anyone who loves Honeymoon.
  18. I meant lyrically and thematically tamer, not that it’s slower. It’s probably the tamest Lana album actually. Even when it came out, people were saying the critics liked it only because she toned down her lyrics and themes so much. It’s not a criticism, part of its charm is how tame it is. Like NFR May be way tamer than UV or AKA, but it’s definitely not nearly as tame as HM.
  19. Lately I’ve been thinking I can see this album being a bit of a cross between jazz and country but still with a modern flair. Kinda like a bit of a contemporary take on honky tonk or swing or even rockabilly. It seems like a logical progression for her based on the styles of her past few albums.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks Honeymoon was actually way tamer than Norman fucking Rockwell?
