I'm guessing there's not one Brooklyn sound, but rather something reminiscent of her experience and what type of music she made in Brooklyn. Praying for Lizzy Grant and the Phenomena-type stuff.

I can defintiely relate to being an "older" fan and feeling a bit out of place, in terms of energy.  I'm 24, and I've done some crazy waiting and standing for musicans at festivals and venues; but, I really feel like I overexerted myself for Lana, something that ended up being hugely wasted because being front row wasn't necessarily enjoyable. I loved seeing Lana up-close and getting to interact with her; but, honestly, being several rows back would've made the experience a lot more enjoyable. I'm not interested in getting an autograph or a photo with her.  I wanted to have a conversation with her, so waiting after the show for her to come out was preferable.  Just being able to tell her I was a fan and what her music meant, to me, felt much more intimate and personal, you know?

As someone who is kind of a "front row snob" (i.e., I hate not being front row), I have to admit that, for a Lana show, I'm never doing front row again.

    Hey hey!

Ok, so I'm TRYING to find tickets to the Detroit show on the 15th, but so far all of the broker tickets are above my budget.  If they lower the day before, I'll buy two (one for me, one for my mom!).  If not, I guess I won't go unless someone magically has an extra ticket or something. But I'm PLANNING on attending, so let's pretend this is confirmed.

First of all, I've read some things about the live shows that concern me a little. AND I have a question about meeting her.  (I hope I don't sound like an old fuddy duddy writing these things.)

    1. Loud, aggressive crowd; mostly teen girls
~ Now, I'm only 27, but the energy of teenagers is far and above any energy I will ever have again. I've read that the concerts are so loud that you can hardly hear Lana, and that fights have broken out and it's a general mess.

    2. Short Set
~ Is it true that Lana only sings for about an hour?  If you've seen her, how many songs did she perform?  Does she spend more time onstage or with the front-row fans?  If I had access to floor tickets I wouldn't complain, but in all likelihood I'll be in the balcony or something. Plus, because my mom wants to see her, as well, I want to make sure she enjoys it.

    3. Without the Meet & Greet, is there a chance to still meet Lana before or after a show?  I would be at the Masonic Temple, which is HUGE, and I have no idea where she'd be dropped off or anything.  In your experience, does she tend to come out? If so, is it before or after, and how long did you wait?

THANK YOU!  I look forward to reading the replies; I'd love to see her but am wondering if maybe I should just wait until the Ultraviolence tour and hope to get assured tickets and a quieter venue!

    Sincerely
    Lily

I always thought we were called Lanatics. But maybe that was just me... :oopna:

And if she did write and record most of this album before Dan intercepted it, and we do get demos, it would be like getting double the songs or like two versions of the album like a B side. One of my favorite bands, the Bravery did this with their album, The Sun and The Moon. One cd, The Sun was a more chill stripped down version of all the songs and the other cd, the Moon was similar sounding to their last album. Here is a link to listen to the songs and how different they sounded. The Ocean in particular is extremely contrasting. Beautiful and so well done. I wish Lana would've done the same with UV. I want the demos so badly!
Especially seeing the difference in how the radio version of WC was to the original... sonically I mean I get a strong Wicked Game vibe from the radio version and Dan's version sounds like something the XX would do or similar.

To me, it's like listening to two different sounding songs. The radio version sounds like how I imagined her organically transitioning from BTD. The way Dan interpreted it expands on Lana's sound and helps her music age with her. It's kind of awesome and I'm so excited to hear demos! I only wish she would release them too, like the Bravery did.

    Anyway. Enjoy y'all~

The people shading Gaga are being ridiculous. Even if her current era is not as successful as her last ones, she is still doing well ( just wait until she goes to Asia and you will see how the shows will sell out fast). I love both Lana and Gaga but we just need to accept that Lana will never reach the level Gaga did ( I wouldn't want her to tbh).

Ultraviolence made her forget Born to Die and Video Games made her forget six years and hundreds of songs she'd written before it

This is exactly what I think, too. I heard her song 'Aviation' and she mentions Pensacola, which is the city I live in and grew up in, so I wonder if she moved here briefly, found a "daddy" and he took her to Los Vegas, then to Cali. That's one of the questions I have for her.

I've sat down and listened to every leak to find out who owned the Blue Chevy Nova, which from my understanding was Jimmy Gnecco (Jimmy pulled up in his blue Chevy Nova). I wanna know who went to prison, holding his pillow tight. I wanna know so much about her past that we'll never really know. I mean, what the hell is the WillyB Crew?

That's why I'd love to hear her re-record the songs, just for the fans and not just to gain random people primarily like most albums try to do. I mean, as her true fans, we wanna know everything we can about her. Who gives two flying fucks what the critics say? Her fan base is huge, but at the same time, it's not radio-big enough. The only songs I heard of hers on the radio was SS which wasn't even the original, it was a remix, and Y/B.
Anyway, point is, I think it would be a cool thing for her to do as a ten-year thank you to all her fans. Something to tell us she appreciates us.

    And in NA:

"shuka shuka how now, shave my legs down down"

The part that I'm more concerned about is whether Lana is even seeing any of the profit from these secondary sources. I read on reddit that another artist (Katy Perry I believe) has a clause in her tour contract that a percentage of the tickets that go on sale will be bought by her management (or the record label maybe, i can't remember) and sold on StubHub for more money than the venue is charging and she gets a majority of the profit on the "scalped" tickets.

I don't know if Lana's been doing that (I kind of hope not because it seems like the artist would be taking advantage of the fans that way, but at the same time, it's very smart from a money making standpoint) but if it's a case of just normal scalpers taking advantage of her fans, who they know will pay ridiculous amounts of money and Lana isn't seeing any of it, that is upsetting to me. Most of Lana's fans seem to be super young and not financially stable enough to be spending $200+ (and potentially additional travel costs) to be seeing her.

I don't know, the whole fact that her tour sold out within minutes and suddenly there are thousands of tickets on stubhub within the hour going for triple or more of the original cost is horrible and so shady. I don't know how some of you are going to her shows unless it's bankrupting you in the process or you have Sugar Daddies to pay for it all (I wish lol). I'm the same age as Lana, I have a decent paying job with lots of spending money, AND have travel benefits to fly for practically nothing anywhere in North America and it still was going to be way too much money to spend on a scalped ticket for a 60-90 min set. I just couldn't justify it in the long run.

(On a side note, does anyone else think that there is a "conspiracy" going on with Lana in general, all her leaks, the mismanagement of everything she does, the way the tour was handled with scalped tickets... it just seems so weird. But I've never stanned for anyone else like I do for Lana, so maybe this is the norm in the industry and I'm just seeing it now?)

In fact, it might be surprising to learn that Lana Del Rey tickets are now priced higher than those of more established female pop powerhouses including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga,  (  ) and Miley Cyrus.

Lana Del Rey is making a serious charge to the top. According to TiqIQ, the average price for Lana Del Rey tickets on the secondary market are $269.68 for her current tour, making Lana Del Rey the second most expensive female performer in music at the moment — trailing only Beyoncé, who is arguably the biggest female star in music today. However, the current comparison to Beyoncé may not be entirely fair, as Beyoncé will be co-headlining her upcoming “On the Run” tour with husband Jay-Z, making Jay-Z and Beyoncé tickets the most expensive of the current crop of female performers at an average price of $306.22.

In fact, it might be surprising to learn that Lana Del Rey tickets are now priced higher than those of more established female pop powerhouses including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga,  ( ) and Miley Cyrus. Part of this can be attributed to the relatively rare number of live shows that Lana Del Rey has booked, compared with the long-running massive global tours of her pop diva contemporaries. Lana Del Rey has just eight North American dates remaining on her current tour, followed by five European festival gigs.

Lana Del Rey’s closest rival is Katy Perry who, by comparison, has booked 107 dates for her massive “Prismatic” World Tour. Katy Perry tickets come in at an average price of $262.92 on the secondary market, prices that may be diluted somewhat by the large number of dates available. The tour kicked off May 7 and will have a very busy Perry crossing the globe from North America to Europe to Australia until December 15

Anyone will agree with you. We know the music is more important than the cover/song titles/design. But we are discussing how good or bad the cover is. That's what the thread is for. And I think the cover is just "average". a white cover would be epic master trolling.
