  1. Hot take, but the piano on Blue Banisters sounds much richer & intricate than it did on NFR. People hate on Lana's "piano ballads" because they weren't all that great on NFR.
  2. NFR definitely has its moments, but you got to love cheap/tinny piano, white noises, flat/bassless tunes, demo-like production & half-spoken/half-hassed vocal delivery. In comparison, except for those couple tracks she allegedly ripped off YouTube or the d-worded website, Blue Banisters does sound much richer. I wonder if we'll actually have more of Rob on this record, hope so.
  3. Anyway, can't wait to hear Lana & Rob's version of "Somethin' Stupid" à la Frank & Nancy Sinatra on LDR9.
  4. Venice Bitch & White Dress are imho the only Jack produced tracks that are truly amazing, that is unquestionable. The rest, however, hit or miss (mostly miss)
  5. No miss Terrence is right, her ears are clean and fully functioning
  6. In my wildest dreams Neil Krug would hook Lana & Kevin Parker up
  7. Just the other day, @shadesofyosemite pointed out that all the so called bops on both 1989 & Melodrama were merely co-produced by Jack. No wonder.
  8. The title track on I Never Learn puts me in a trans like state, such a good song. That album takes me back to 2014. I long for similar tunes.
  9. WFWF isn't even close to being in my top favourite tracks on Blue Banisters; I really wish she'd give us more songs in the vein of Text Book, Black Bathing Suit & Dealer on her next album.
  10. Respectfully disagree with this take. NFR's mixing is terrible, except for a few key tracks; it's very much giving compressed demo at times. On BB, except for the leaked songs that were apparently ripped off YouTube, the album actually sounds quite pristine. I hope that for LDR9 she doesn't go back to that sorta demo-like sound she nurtured on the two Jack albums.
  11. I also think that Lana is always in her inner-sabotage era, so Jack isn't really to be blamed for everything, he went along to get along. But the recycled sound/approach from one album to the other? That's on him.
  12. He was merely a co-producer on that song, but that song is BOMB
  13. He's not the revolutionary music producer some of yall think he is. He's the go-to guy for sure, but as seen on Solar Power & Chemtrails (although I really enjoyed that album), the past couple records he's worked on are almost completely indecipherable.
  14. I'll take the BB piano ballads over the NFR piano ballads. At least on BB they felt a bit more imaginative and they didn't have that cheap metal/tinny sound. If Jack is involved again, and I assume we'll hear more piano tunes with Rob also being involved, let's hope they do it right this time around.
  15. Black Bathing Suit making gaping holes since October 2021.
  16. Lana hasn't released a conceptual album since Honeymoon, in fact it's pretty much her only quote on quote concept album
  17. I actually wouldn't mind a Jackoff album if it were more Venice Bitch, White Dress, The greatest & Narwhal and not Love song, How to disappear, LMLYLAW, For Free and the likes. After Blue Banisters came out it's obvious that the piano ballads from the Jack era were not it. But Jack needs to get a better piano, pick up that bass and stop making everything sound so flat and muffled ffs.
  18. I can already hear the white noises
