  1. I also think that Lana is always in her inner-sabotage era, so Jack isn't really to be blamed for everything, he went along to get along. But the recycled sound/approach from one album to the other? That's on him.
  2. He was merely a co-producer on that song, but that song is BOMB
  3. He's not the revolutionary music producer some of yall think he is. He's the go-to guy for sure, but as seen on Solar Power & Chemtrails (although I really enjoyed that album), the past couple records he's worked on are almost completely indecipherable.
  4. I'll take the BB piano ballads over the NFR piano ballads. At least on BB they felt a bit more imaginative and they didn't have that cheap metal/tinny sound. If Jack is involved again, and I assume we'll hear more piano tunes with Rob also being involved, let's hope they do it right this time around.
  5. Black Bathing Suit making gaping holes since October 2021.
  6. Lana hasn't released a conceptual album since Honeymoon, in fact it's pretty much her only quote on quote concept album
  7. I actually wouldn't mind a Jackoff album if it were more Venice Bitch, White Dress, The greatest & Narwhal and not Love song, How to disappear, LMLYLAW, For Free and the likes. After Blue Banisters came out it's obvious that the piano ballads from the Jack era were not it. But Jack needs to get a better piano, pick up that bass and stop making everything sound so flat and muffled ffs.
  8. I can already hear the white noises
  9. Agreed, although I will say that overall I found Blue Banisters' sound to be somewhat cohesive, I'll take the production on that album over the NFR production any day.
  10. Hopefully this is for LDR11, and in the meantime Lana will release another beautiful album in the vein of 'Blue Banisters' filled with nicely produced songs of different genres from different producers; so by the time she releases the next record I won't even care that Jack came back to disappoint us with yet another palatable album, with an unimaginative production.
  11. It's only the beginning—reconnecting with my 2019/20 self.
  12. Wasn't Laura the sound engineer responsible for the atrocious, flat & tinny mixing on most NFR songs?
  13. The fact that Emile Haynie, Zach Dawes, Miles Kane, Gabe Simon & Dan Auerbach are literally out there and she settles for... Jack. Lana has lost her mind and she perpetuating mind loss by pushing it off onto us.
  14. Hopefully it's only for the second poetry book, otherwise it's a loss for the culture

  16. I really liked what I heard on Violet, the instrumentation was very good, I feel like we'll hear something in a similar vein on Behind the Iron Gates and I'm not complaining.
  17. I've come a long way with my appreciation of Jack's work with Lana, and I can't really tell whether or not it's Lana of Jack's input that doesn't work for me, but besides a few key tracks (which are some of her best work if I'm being honest; mainly Venice Bitch & White Dress) I find their work together to be very underwhelming. I also like that Lana has and will always work with different people, but I feel like we've heard enough of the Antonoff/Del Rey collab.

  21. I definitely forgot to mention 'Dealer', but it's definitely up there as well.
  22. IDK what some of you guys are on with the production on Blue Banisters, but as far as production goes 'Text Book', 'Black Bathing Suit', 'If You Lie Down With Me' & 'Sweet Carolina' are some or her best produced songs in a moment. If she wants to go down that road, I'm fine with that. I'll take that style of production over the messy NFR & COCC production & mixing any day.
  23. Just cause you have access to coveted material (or withhold it), doesn't mean your takes on Lana's music are... accurate. If anything, except for the poor audio on the unreleased tracks she put on the album, Blue Banisters is her best album as far as production goes since Honeymoon.
