she initially started out with a more (pop)punk album (as you can hear from the outtakes and covers she was putting out at the time, like mow the lawn, can you please shut up, allergic to love) and was just working with patrik berger(?) in sweden(?) for a bit then she either got bored/changed her mind or the label didn’t want it and it got merged with the Sucker we know today. considering she thought whoever would be singing ‘break the rules’ was an idiot she obviously didn’t intend to go the route she went

it’s been 2 months since her last poem, not sure if I’m glad or not… I would like to see her thrive again even if this thread seems like I don’t. her last poem was better than the first though still had flaws, and she’s always picked questionable singles so I thought this might be the case with her poetry too. I think she’s just living an LA life and trampling wildflowers and not caring (yes she said there was a patch of dirt but that was probably made by previous visitors trampling the flowers for Instagram)

we can thank the ‘feud’ for one thing and that’s for bringing charlotte rutherford and charli together to do the pop 2 photoshoot

that’s because marina never says anything when she does anything problematic she just ignores it & deletes tweets if she’s called out without ever addressing it. charli’s only recently started talking about it in a more negative light and she did reach out to marina via tweet (before she started bringing this up again) to collab on a remix and got ignored so it’s not like charli hasn’t tried to be ‘nice’ about it.

I don't think anyone really knows, they broke up for a bit in the middle (2017ish?) cause huck's birthday isn't the one in party 4 u, I think (in the case of unreleased) she also makes stuff up, we don't know how much was actually ever intended for her or what was for other people

yeah, charli was 23 and marina was 30 at the time, and when they did the lonely hearts tour Charli must have been about 20, it must have felt really weird to have your sort of mentor/big sister figure suddenly act like that. especially cause a year before they were calling each other ‘sister’ at the brits. it was just jealousy on the side of miss diamandis I fear…

it’s made with the unleaked pro tools, the instrumental is real, it’s the one sent by another producer that was then reproduced by Stargate, but the vocals have been constructed from the various files in the folder i remember someone admitted to making it, as the protools are supposedly just a load of vocal takes, the demo instrumental and a couple of final bounces

honestly I was lowkey annoyed I didn't get in at first, but knowing charli this brat_360 stuff will be completely irrelevant in the end, like crash tv or whatever was in the New Shapes music video and I think her calling herself underrated and the best pop girlie is mostly jokes, but it must be really annoying to write #1 songs like Señorita, and not really have that for your current solo career (yes she has boom clap but that's one song from 2014 and didn't get #1 on billboard)

agree! I think she really does care but tweeting stuff like 'you have to be mentally ill to be a cop' after hearing about something like george floyd is so tone deaf, especially when she wants to be a mental health advocate too. imo what doesn't help her is she never tweets any charity links (she actually has a charity of her own!!) but she'll make political songs, vs someone like charli who doesn't sing political songs but had a load of lgbt+ links pinned during pride month. it comes across like she wants to profit off the songs but not actually be political, like going to the hotel in man's world after it was released like it was no big deal.

how can we complain the album isn't what we wanted in 6 months time if we don't make up a wildly inaccurate version of the album now though? (i'm joking)

the tube is also called the london underground… maybe she’s going back to her 14 year old grungy london nightclub era, she’s got the hair back, a full 360 to her beginnings can’t wait for an updated jungle timesque diss track, absolutely iconic

I think she could be releasing them both as a double album? the book 1-2.txt (a redacted tracklist on elf.tech) had 22 songs on it.
